This was getting out of hand. Too many little girls fighting over the same guy, and Julia knew her cousin, someone was going to get hurt if she didn't get her way soon. She knew that from personal experience, and she still had the scar. Julia got up from her nice peaceful table to deal with the ruckas over yonder (dude, reading Hucklebery finn is really starting to get to me). She had to say, she was defiantly on Rich's side. It was just wrong that someone that hot could be so wrong in the head.
She squeezed through the mass of students surrounded the three until she was by her cousins side. She put her hand on her shoulder, to let her know she was there to help and just incase she tried to lunge at someone. She looked over expecting to see Eric, but when her eyes met those of Mike, her heart gave a little leap. Oh Crap. He had not been standing before. She had not talked to him since the whole Audrey fiasco. She was trying to avoid him so she could sort out her feelings, and there he was looking all handsome and heroic. Damnit. She thought Eric cured her. Apparently not since she had the intense desire to kiss him at this moment. She looked away quickly, finding Erics eyes next. She felt absolutely nothing for him, and that felt good, she had regained her control.
"Look, he really is not all that special, trust me," she blurted out before she could stop herself. Oh damn. Rich was going to murder her multiple times. She laughed awkwardly, refusing to look Mike in the eye. She didn't want to see the anger that would most likely be there. Why the hell did she feel so ashamed? Why did she care what Mike thought of her? Why? Because she had feeling for him Damnit. But she couldn't tell him. God her life was messed up.

"Thanks Poki, but you heard the girl, so scoot your boot, and Shut up before I make you."
Moki rolled her eyes in sarcastic amusement. "Scary," she commented, thoroughly unintimidated. What was Richelle going to do, jump her in front of the whole Great Hall? It was very immature. In the case of Eric, that... what was he... "pimp" was putting it kindly, so she'd go with that. "Man-whore" was probably more to the point (and accurate), but since she barely knew the guy she would cut him a little slack. He'd never done anything to her, although he was a bit promiscuous for her liking. Whatever he was, Moki highly doubted his ability to have an actual relationship with a girl. Not even Richelle, the man-stealing bitch that she was, deserved that kind of treatment. But sure as hell no first-year did. Watson didn't need to be tricked into liking some guy so he could do what he wanted with her.
She shifted her weight to one leg, watching Watson for her reaction. The younger girl had proven her self-preservation skills, so Moki wouldn't fight her battles for her. However, if this got personal, she was going to stick around to defend herself.

OOC: Effs, guys! I'm sorry! I've been busy, and I didn't think to check this last night before I went to sleep. It seems the story's gotten much more interesting, though. IC: Audrey didn't really think that it was a fantastic idea for Mike to go play hero, but....boys will be boys. He really ought to have been a Gryffindor, she thought to herself. The girl wandered to the table of refreshments and acquired a glass of punch. That's exactly what she was doing, sipping on her glass of punch when she saw that Julia was also joining the festivities. Just great! It wasn't that she didn't trust the girl. She did. Sure, Julia could be kind of...umm...explicit, but that was just the way she was. As long as it wasn't with Mike, she was fine. The only problem was that there WAS something between Mike and Julia. Nothing that had been acted on, of course, just something. A spark. A chemistry. "Damn it." Audrey placed her empty punch glass on the table, not even looking for the trash, and walked over to the growing group. Putting on her best friendly face and gorgeous smile, Audrey joined them. "Hi guys. Listen, I know this seems pertinent, and I know that you all have a lot to say about the recent development and exposure of the simple fact that Eric is a pedophile, but this is the FRIGGIN Yule Ball. Let's put off all of the confrontation until tomorrow, at the very least." There. That wasn't too one-sided. Audrey was not a fan of Eric's, by any means, but this first year certainly did not deserve to be treated poorly. If Richelle wanted to skewer Eric, that was fine by Audrey. Just, please, wait until tomorrow.

She grabbed Eric's arm and turned him around. "This so isn't you, what the hell is going on?" she said angrily. She would have been fine if the girl was his own age, but this was to much. "She is five years younger then you, that is just gross, do you really need to get laid that badly?" she whispered intensely to him, "She probably still plays with dolls! What the hell are you thinking?" She had an urge to shake him until he realized how disgusting the whole thing was, but she figured that, this once, violence was not the answer. "I am saying this as a friend, this is a bad idea, I know you," she said glaring at him. She would not be rejected by this cradle-robber.
Watson was furious, but she kept her cool...for now. She tapped Richelle on the shoulder, "Listen here. First of all, I'm almost 12. And even though that may be young, I am MUCH more mature than you. Obviously. From the way you are acting, I would think you were 4. Grow up. Get over yourself. Secondly. I DO NOT play with dolls. But I do play with a very old and powerful wand and have certain very dangerous talents you DON'T want to mess with. I came to this dance to enjoy myself. If your life is so entirely uneventful that you must cause such ridiculous drama, I request that you take it somewhere else. And finally, I am not a slut, And I will NOT be fucking Eric, therefor there is nothing wrong with us going to the Yule Ball together. Mind your own business. You are obviously just jealous you got replaced with a younger, prettier girl. Get over it all ready. Seriously, get a life. I'm sure you can buy yourself one somewhere in Diagon Alley. You might look next time you're there. "
What's going on here?" he said loud enough for just the group to hear him, loud enough for his voice to stay over all the commotion going on in the group and the dance.
Watson shot around and found herself face to face with an older Ravenclaw boy that oddly resembled Eric. She was curious of his involvement, but she shrugged it off, wishing people would mind their own business.
"You children are so strange," she said, giggling and taking a bite of the cookie. "Yum, what a delicious cookie..." In truth, it was rather good. Did the house-elves make the food that night? She wouldn't have been surprised one bit. "It would be a shame to see it go to waste while I snap some sense into your otherwise senseless minds..." Her voice had lowered a considerable bit as she said this, but she took another bite of the cookie as if nothing odd was happening. Instead, she leaned against the nearest support, finishing the cookie and crossing her arms across her chest. "Please, just act as if I'm not here. I'd love some entertainment right now." Yet another giggle escaped her lips, but she didn't bother trying to stifle it. Did she actually plan on stopping this drama? No. No she didn't.
Watson huffed as the head of house walked up to join the group. This was getting ridiculous. A teacher...REALLY!!! All because some stupid little bitch! She controlled her temptation to explode into a four year old fit. She refused to let herself look immature. She was going to be the adult one in this stupid little soap opera.
"Look, he really is not all that special, trust me," she blurted out before she could stop herself.
Another Ravenclaw come to join the group. Watson felt as if this was becoming a huge affair of sorts. Ridiculous! She turned as the verbal diarrhea of the other girl began. She laughed cooly at her comment of Eric, "You are right. He's not worth the fight. This is more about not letting this little witch (nice pun, huh??) get her way. Nobody gets everything they want. You can't have him. At least not tonight. Tonight he's mine. Any other time, I don't give a shit what any of you do with him. But he asked ME to this dance. So BACK OFF!"
Audrey joined them. "Hi guys. Listen, I know this seems pertinent, and I know that you all have a lot to say about the recent development and exposure of the simple fact that Eric is a pedophile, but this is the FRIGGIN Yule Ball. Let's put off all of the confrontation until tomorrow, at the very least."
Watson had no clue who the pretty red head in the green dress was, but she made a very good point. She rather liked sensible people, and this girl was extremely practical. She turned to the girl, "I honestly don't know who you are, but I like you for your practicality. This is what I've been trying to make a point of. This is a night to enjoy and remember. Not a night to cause unnecessary drama. Let's all go back to what we were doing and settle this some other time. Good night all. So nice to meet you all." She grabbed Eric's hand and started to very slowly drag him away, just DARING anybody to follow her and start more shit. She would absolutely NOT go for it.

This was ridiculous. Why did she want Eric so much? Simple, because she didn't have him. And why was this girl so boring, all she heard was 'Blah blah blah,' her lips were moving, but she didn't care about what she was saying. "Oooo twelve, soon you'll be getting gray hair," she said mockingly. She didn't hear the rest of what the girl said, it was something like blah blah Wand... blah blah blah... slut.. blah prettier... Oh hel nooo. "Haha, that's funny, you are a comedian too," she said laughing. This girl was pretty full of herself.
She was getting so frustrated. Why wouldn't he talk to her? She felt herself on the edge of losing it and getting violent. But then she felt a hand on her shoulder, she turned her head to find her cousin standing next to her. She had never been so happy to see her in her entire life. She couldn't handle this alone. But then what was this, she dropped a bombshell. "You... and him..." she said in disgust. Why was she such a skank? God, this was so messed up. She was getting all flustered and claustrophobic. Too many people. Too many secrets. "You know what, have fun being a child molester," she said angrily to Eric. He had totally played with her feelings, the whole holding hand thing. And she had fell for it. God she was dumb. "Screw you Eric, Screw you," she spat before turning on her heels and tearing across the room to the doors. She was so angry.

Riley sighed, looking into the full length mirror in the door of her wardrobe in the dorms. She was dreading this evening and had purposely planned on being as late as possible. She ran her hands through her curls, eyeing her dress, wondering if it looked alright. She like the light turquoise color against her pale skin. It complimented her hair. The dress swept down to the floor, hiding the silver flats she wore simply for comfort. It was strapless, which she liked because it showed of her collar bones. The empire waist hid her frail frame. She had been loosing weight beyond all reason and she wasn't sure why. Her make-up was simple; just enough to comaflouge the dark circles around her eyes and the blotchy redness of her skin. She grabbed the small silver clutch off her bed and made her way out of the common room.
Riley walked slowly down the flights of moving stairs, absolutely convincing herself to make it to the ball with every single small step. She finally made it into the great hall, her heart pounding madly in her chest. She couldn't figure out why she was so nevous. She stepped down the last step, strolled to the double doors, and opened one of them. She bumped into some Slytherin girl who was racing out of the room.
"Oh, I'm so sorry," Riley stammered. She felt herself blushing madly. She felt like a total idiot. What a great way to start the evening.

Eric felt the hand on his shoulder, his head turning sharply, he saw Mike standing there. Eric didn't think he had have seen a time where he was happy to see Mike, but here it was. Eric was just about to say something, when he felt that pressure on his shoulder he knew too well, it had been a while since Mike did it, but here it was. This stopped Eric from saying something right away. Right after Mike, came Julia. Eric's eyes shot from Watson, to Richelle, to Julia. Oh fuck, this really can't be good. He shot Mike a look that said help me.
Eric looked taken back when Watson went off on Richelle and Julia. He never knew she'd ever go that far, he knew she was a tough girl, but he didn't know that tough. Why the hell did a thing like this have to happen? All of a sudden Richelle went off on Eric. She called him a child molester and such and then stormed off, watching her, he moved forward, "Richelle, please." he said calling after her. He knew he couldn't have two dates tonight, or even three, he would've asked Julia and Richelle, along with Watson if he could, but it just couldn't be that way. Looking back at Julia and Watson, Eric ran a hand through his hair, not sure what to say. Then when Watson spoke telling everyone to just get on with the dance again, he felt himself being pulled away.

Moments after Mike joined the group, then Julia did too. Oh god, don't tell me she has some kind of connection to Eric now. He watched her for a moment, not entirely sure if she was pissed at him for what had happened days ago. Mike cleared his mind, best to concentrate on this situation rather than what happened before. He watched as more remarks were exchanged and then the older Slytherin Girl stormed off.
When Audrey came over, Mike was almost glad she had decided not to stay away like he had suggested. She was giving some help to the whole situation, just when the younger Slytherin began to pull Eric away, Mike pulled Eric back slowly. "If you don't mind, I'd like to speak to my cousin alone quickly." Mike said politely, he didn't want to be mean, but he was more demanding it. He needed to set this straight, and get Eric back on the road. Sure these girls had feelings for Eric, and one of them had just stormed out, Mike figured he'd try talking to her later, seeing if he could resolve her issue with Eric. But right now, his first priority was his cousin.

Watson was somewhat taken aback by the other guy. She hadn't expected anyone to have the nerve to take him from her again. She was almost mad, and then the realiztion came, "Cousins?"

"Well your in quite a pickle aren't you?" she said with a chuckle. She wasn't sure why she found it funny, maybe because it reminded her of those reality shows with the love triangle and stuff. She would probably be rolling around on the floor if it wasn't for her cousin being hurt so bad. This is why she had no friends and didn't like commitment. And she was the one who did it to her. Oh now she felt like hell. She had to find Rich. She wanted to talk to Mike, but seeing as she tended to screw everything up she felt like it would be best to try to fix something for a change. She gave a weak smile to the remaining people then tore off after her cousin.
She finally caught up with her in the door way when a girl in a turquoise dress sorta threw her off balance. That girl could run fast in heels. Julia sorta flung herself in between her tiny cousin and the other girl, she was sure Richie was going to hurt someone, and it would be better if it was Julia and not some innocent bystander. "Rich, stop," she said grabbing the girl by the shoulders to hold her back, "Talk to me." They totally needed to be on Dr. Phil.

Why was it so hard to make a graceful exit after storming off? "Shove off blondie," she spat. She was just about to push her way through when her least favorite person showed up. She really didn't care what her mom did, she was going to kill her this time. "Let go of me you whore, you could have diseases," she said angrily pushing Julia into the other girl. She couldn't believe her, this was low even for her. "Why Eric?" she said glaring at her, "Aren't there plenty of guys that you could sleep with? How does it feel Julia, to know that guys don't really care about you, they just use you and throw you out with the garbage, I can tell you how I feel," she said on the verge of tears. Holy Crap. Tears? Really? Richie hadn't cried since she was a baby, she was not an emotional person."I need to get out of here," she said abruptly, pushing the two girls out of her way. She dashed across the entrance hall not stopping until she had reached her dorm room.

Hunter Kelly checked himself quickly in the mirror before he left his dorm room. He knew that he was supposed to wear the traditional dress robes, but he was a seventh year. He's done the whole traditional thing before. (Six times, to be precise.) This year he went muggle tradiational. He had on a tuxedo. After all, James Bond was a hero of his. Why not give it a try? He, of course, had no date. Hunter never took girls as 'dates' to balls. Although, if he could have found her, he would have asked Cady...maybe.
The boy had timed everything so that he would show up about fourty-five minutes later than most people. Fashionably later than everyone else. He let a low chuckle rumble out from his chest and lips as he thought of the small piece of advice that his mother had given him when he was much younger. It was in this state of mind, peacefully walking towards the Great Hall, that he stumbled upon the first signs that there had already been drama.
"Shove off blondie..."
What the crap? Hunter strolled around the corner to see Riley, Julia, and another girl standing in the entryway. Something had definitely gone down.
"Let go of me you whore, you could have diseases,"
Whoa. Hunter leaned against a wall, hoping to be inconspicuos. He was just going to let this play out.

Post by Katelynn Creperum on Feb 14, 2009 14:56:35 GMT -5
Alas, it was time for the Yule Ball. Katelynn wasn't a fan of social functions, but she normally found herself attending them anyway. Unfortunately, the green dress she had purchased for the occasion was out of the question. Not because she disliked it, or it didn't fit, but simply because she wanted to go against the norm. For weeks leading up to the event, excited girls had been chattering about what dress they were wearing and how beautiful it was. Green seemed to be the color of choice. And there was no way Katelynn was going to be caught in something everyone else was wearing. What if one of the other girls had the same dress? She may not have acted so pumped about it, but she really did like to dress up every once in a while. So, Katelynn's dress did differ from the majority. It was red, with a black ribbon tied around the middle. In fact, it looked a little like this. On her feet were a pair of simple, short, black heels -- she didn't want to go too high, for fear of tripping and killing herself. The blonde didn't like up-dos, so her hair hung in loose curls, framing her face rather nicely. She had to admit, when she looked in the mirror, she looked pretty damn good. Hopefully Danny was here ... she hadn't seen him in ages, and she was suffering from best friend withdrawal. At the entrance to the ball, there was a hell of a lot of drama going on already. Jesus. Was there ever a time when a girl didn't fight over a man? Honestly, they weren't everything in life. There were much more important things. People die, then what would they have? Memories? Oh, please. Memories never sustained anyone. It just disgusted her so much. Maybe once she got into an actual relationship, she would understand, but she wasn't sure if she wanted to. They were overrated, anyway. Except maybe with someone undisgusting, like ... nobody. "Grow up, Richelle," said Katelynn, rolling her eyes at the Slytherin girl. Pity. She thought the girl was better than that. Glancing at Julia, she realized that the apple must not have fallen far from the tree. The Slytherin saw the Gryffindor boy -- Hunter, wasn't it? -- watching, and restrained from rolling her eyes again. It was difficult, but she managed. She walked straight through the door and into another drama zone. Didn't people have lives outside of causing drama? Kate was about to AK everyone in the room. However, she remained silent, and grabbed herself some Butterbeer from the refreshment table. Everything seemed to revolve around one guy today: Eric Blaze. They knew each other rather well, what with being in the same House and year. Did that many girls honestly like him? Hmmm. She had never noticed his looks, really. It was more as if they had known each other since the womb. Katelynn decided to keep her distance from him for now. She didn't want to be a part of the unnecessary drama. Plus, he seemed rather preoccupied with his first year friend. ... Wait, first year? You have got to be kidding me, she thought, sipping at her drink.

Oh my god. Richie just felt something. Is this the same heartless girl who murdered Julia's cat when they were four? No this was not that girl. Richie really really liked Eric, and he just stomped on her heart in front of about twenty people. The jerk. Why had she ever thought he was hot? Well he was. Darn her lack of self-control. Julia ran into the gryffindor behind her when richelle pushed her out of the way and escaped. "Sorry, about that, she is a bit of a loose cannon," she said apologetically to the gryffindor stepped out of the doorway into the entrance hall to allow her to enter.
She needed to get her mind off of this junk. She needed to find a guy and dance. She scanned the hall, trying to find a guy, any guy. Her eyes fell on the notorious Hunter, he was a known player, so she knew there wouldn't be a jealous girlfriend to worry about, plus they had never had that "study session." She walked over to him, putting on her sexiest smile. "You are going to dance with me," she said. Before he could answer she grabbed his arm and dragged him into the Great Hall and onto the dance floor.

Post by Audra McKlennon on Feb 14, 2009 20:02:20 GMT -5
Audra McKlennon wore a champagne satin strapless dress that fit snugly until her knees. From there, it bloomed out into a mermaid type fan with a slight train. The woman's red hair was pulled into an elegant updo, fastened with a red rose. Professor McKlennon finished her make up which was simple: a simple swoop of black eye liner and red lips, and walked downstairs. As she was nearing the Great Hall, a younger female student went running past her, nearly knocking her over. Audra moved out of the way as quickly as her train would let her, but stumbled. Although she managed to catch herself, Audra had noticed Hunter's eyes following the girl. (Which, of course, meant that he had played witness to her near tumble.) Audra smiled and nodded. "Hunter," she said as she walked calmly passed him and through the doors.
Immediately, she walked over to the table of refreshments and grabbed a glass of something that looked like it was champagne. Unfortunately, it was merely sparkling white grape juice. Damn the luck. Audra thought. She really could use a touch of alcohol tonight. Not to get drunk, no. Just to stop the nerves. It was her first Yule Ball as a professor and she hadn't really made any friends yet this term. Audra had realized how much of a hermit she could be when in an uncomfortable situation.
The woman looked around the room, hoping to spot one of the many attractive males who just so happened to be employed at Hogwarts. Surely one of them would show up so that she would have someone to dance with. Audra wasn't sure how well it would come across if she started dancing with a student, even if it was a seventh year.
