through the pain of his wound he flicked his wand and performed a nonverbal of Antonin Dolohov's personal torture curse.
Aguamenti had worked like a charm, not only to extinguish Casper's far-from-perfect fiery abomination, but to send Casper flying against the stone wall. This resulted in a very audible crack, a noise that would make any innocent bystander grit their teeth. He had done it, he had defeated his opponent, or so he thought.
To his right hand side he raised he wand to assist Mike when he felt as if someone had ripped his kidney out. Zachary had no clue what was going on, it felt as though he was hit with a crucio curse. Zachary bit his lip to keep from screaming, screaming what a sign of mercy, something Zachary would show none of. He was now on his knees, his eyes watering, beggining to black out. He had only a few seconds before passing out, he had to use them wisely.
His lip was now bleeding due to the extreme amount of force he was biting it with. He grabbed his wand off the floor where he had dropped it to deal with the excruciating internal pain. He pointed the mahogany wood directly at Casper's villainous little head and performed a basic knockback charm, Flipendo, in hopes of knocking his head against the stone wall he was inches from. The nonverbal was enough to at least disorient the Slytherin long enough to get some help.
He stepped back about an inch, braced himself in his fighting stance, and then shouted " Duro!" with a fast and forceful flick of his wand.
Zachary was far to weak to perform a proper complex charm to save Blaze from complete destruction, he was going to have to pray that Moki knew the proper charm to return Blaze to his normal self before he "broke". Zachary pointed his wand at a fairly large section of what used to be a bookcase and was now simply burning firewood and thought I guess a simple charm will have to do... Wingaurdium Leviosa! With one last quick flick of the wrist, the object propelled through the air aimed for the back of Justin's head.
Zachary did not know if his charm had helped because by the time of impact Zachary was out for good. His body lay in the third floor corridor appearing to be lifeless. He was still bleeding viciously from the back of the head, and now out of the mouth and nose. His stomach was revealed and what used to be a fit muscular body was now turning purple and malformed, his internal injuries were getting worse, fast. For the first time Zachary did not win.

Okay. Now Moki was pissed. Kat didn't seem to be worried, however... which Moki found to be rather interesting. So fourth years were automatically no threats?
Well, Impedimenta... that wasn't going to quite do the trick. Seconds ticked by, and the spell's effect began to wear off. Her wand mere feet away, she moved slowly (not quite by choice) toward it. By the time she reached it, she could move quickly enough. Picking it up, she said a silent (obviously) prayer that she could do what she wished, and concentrated all her energy on countering the silence jinx Kat had placed on her. And was quite unsuccessful in doing so on the first attempt. She hadn't had adequate time to perfect nonverbals, but after a few moments, she finally managed to break the charm. Quickly muttering "finite" to dispell any lingering effects of Kat's jinxes, she rounded on the girl, her eyes blazing.
"You'll regret that..." she said quietly. Alright, since Kat seemed to like disarming... "EXPELLIARMUS!" she cried, and was surprised to realize Kat seemed to possess two wands as they flew through the air towards her. Quickly realizing Justin as the owner of one of the two wands, she tossed what she hoped was his towards him and pointed her own at Katarina. "Petrificus Totalus!" Without a moment's hesitation, she added a tongue-tying jinx for good measure... well, why the hell not when Kat had been so generous with her?
"Think twice before you turn your back on me again," she said, glaring at the older girl.

Post by Audra McKlennon on Mar 22, 2009 1:19:45 GMT -5
Professor Audra McKlennon was doing her usual late night hall monitor duties. She was a night owl by nature, so she'd volunteered for the graveyard shift for the entire term. Who needed sleep anyway, right? It wasn't more than five minutes into her rounds that she started hearing the voices. Of course, they were floating down the long corridor of the third floor; therefore, thinking it was merely a couple of the younger students wandering the halls after hours as she'd done so many times during her own years not so long ago at Hogwarts, Audra took her sweet time getting to the other end. It wasn't until she heard the crash of what she would soon find to be a burning, exploding bookshelf that she quickened her leisurely pace. As she rounded that last corner, slightly out of breath at this point from running the last few meters of corridor, she beheld the aftermath of the battle. Immediately she recognized all of the students. Mike, Zachary, and Kat were three of her very best pupils, along with Moki. The young professor's eyes narrowed as she analyzed the scene in front of her: Mike was a living statue; Katarina was glaring at Moki and making sidelong glances at the other two Slytherins; Zachary was passed out, bleeding from various places, and turning a gruesome shade of purple very quickly.
"Enough!" The red headed professor shouted. Her voice held more authority than it would have if the situation were any less dire. "Justin, step away from Michael. Katarina, put your wand down; Moki, you too." The woman made her way through the debris to Zachary's apparently lifeless body. She swore quietly under her breath and non verbally healed almost all of his wounds. His head wound and internal injuries would be healed; however, the minor cuts and bruises would stay. He was well enough to wake up. Turning her attention to Mike, she reversed that jinx as well. Fixing her gaze upon Casper, she said, "I ought to perform the same spell on you. Maybe you would think twice about casting it on anyone other than the Dark Lord himself. Alas, I'm a professor and that title prohibits me from doing just that. Consider yourself lucky." Quickly, she processed the different fights. "50 points from each house for each person. Whoever blew up the bookshelf earned himself another 50 point deduction. And all of you have several detentions in store for you."
Looking over at the still body of Zachary Pyler, Audra shook her head. "How long has this boy been out?" Smoothly, she stepped over his unconscious form, kneeled in the shallow puddle of water that covered most of the floor, and slapped his face; hard. "Wake up."

Oh... shit.
Moki turned like lightning at the sound of Professor Audra McKlennon's voice, wand pointed defensively in the direction of the unforeseen threat. Recognizing the speaker, her eyes widened and her hands flew behind her back in a rather pathetic effort to conceal her wand. She wondered how much of that Professor McKlennon had witnessed and thanked whatever good karma she had ever earned that she had not opted for that slug-belching spell out of revenge. Yeah, that would just about complete the scene, Mike completely petrified, Casper with some nasty broken bones, Zachary unconscious and Katarina chucking slugs all over the place. Nope, this really did not need any more drama.
"Moki, you too." With a sickeningly nervous grin, the young girl slowly extended her wand arm and dropped her weapon onto the ground, where it hit with a light tapping noise. Then, because she realized it was futile to pretend that she didn't have it, she sheepishly dropped Kat's as well from her right arm.
Well, she was in a shitload of trouble. The Hufflepuffs and Gryffindors would just about be having a field day when they checked House points tomorrow. And she had, effectively, started the whole thing. She set her face and straightened up proudly. She was not going to go down like a dog with its tail between its legs, no, she would do this with dignity. Moki watched as Audra tried to wake Zachary, feeling a pang of remorse for him, combined with a lot of other feelings about the other students who had been involved. She hadn't seen that coming from just about anybody... and it only served to assure her all the more that the nagging impulse to further her magical skills had been correct. If what had happened between the boys was what she was up against, she had to learn to perform and counter such things. Oddly enough, with her ass on the line, the only thing that kept running through her head was the thought that her father had been right.

Mike watched helplessly as Casper's Antonin Dolohov curse took effect in Zachary. He saw Zachary turn to himself to restore Mike to his normal state only to collapse. The duel was over, Zachary was out, Mike not being able to do anything. Mike knew however, that unless help arrived soon, Casper might just possibly keep attacking Zachary.
"Enough!"
The word rang through the room. Mike knew the voice very well, Professor McKlennon. Although Mike knew they were all in a ton of trouble, he couldn't help but be relieved it was, for one thing, she would make sure Zachary made it out of this alive. Plus, maybe, since Mike was dating Audrey, who was Professor McKlennon's favorite student, she'd go easy on him? When Professor McKlennon turned and reversed the stone spell, Mike who had forgotten he was in mid attack form and that the sudden ability to move threw him off balance, he hit the stone floor hard, his wand rolling away from him, his right arm suddenly becoming painful, but he ignored it, pushing himself to his feet. He glanced over to where Zachary lay, almost forgetting he was possibly near death. He kneeled down on Zachary's other side from where Professor McKlennon was, "He's been out for only a minute or so before you arrived, Professor" Mike said slowly.

slapped his face; hard. "Wake up."
Zachary was vulnerable, his mind could hear people around him helping but he wasn't quite awake for another good thirty seconds. His eyes slowly peeled open to see his favorite professor, and mike above him. He couldn't help but wounder, what had happened to the slytherins? Had it been a tie? Had Kat kicked serious ass? Or get her ass handed to her? "Did we win?" The words escaped his lips directed to mike. Instantly seeing the scowl on McKlennon's face he retracted his statement. "Sorry."
He was in a great deal of pain, more than he had ever felt. But his adrenaline rush helped him ignore it for now. He had fun. He liked to fight, a lot. He was sure he was going ot get his revenge on casper, 1v1 in the future. But for now he had to fix the situation he had started. "Are they okay, professor?" he said quietly attempting to sit up.

Amelia Decessum could only do a double-take at the room laid out before her.
Rolls of parchment rolled away from her body, still and erect as a statue. Her left hand rested on the threshold of the entrance; her right hand had steadily grabbed her wand, which was pointed at the person closest to the center of the room. The woman usually didn't go beyond the dungeons when it came to patrolling the corridors at night; there were other professors for that, and she was sure they were at least somewhat capable of dealing with issues. She had simply thrown on a green mini-dress and was heading to the owlery when - lo and behold - she had heard noises.
Noises were bad.
In fact, she had arrived when the other professor - Audra? she wondered for a brief moment - had begun handling the situation. Amelia's jade eyes had taken to examining the scene before her, and disgust and anger boiled in her stomach. Or maybe that was her lunch. Three Slytherins and three Ravenclaws had been duelling? In the trophy room?! But what Professor Audra McKlennon had said next, though merciful in comparison to Professor Decessum's punishments, snapped the woman out of her trance.
"50 points?" she snarled, though she wasn't looking at Audra. No, her eyes were moving between the three Slytherin students. "150 points from my house?!" She moved into the room, eyes focused on no one in particular. "Perhaps Professor McKlennon would be doing you mercy upon your very core to do such a spell on you, Mister Castora," she said towards Casper, her voice dropping dangerously low. "You're going to explain to me what was running through your ignorant, immature little minds in this tyrade -- now!"
Crossing her arms, Amelia glanced toward Audra with a light nod, as if telling her she did a good job. 150 points from her House? These students were going to have a big mess to clean up, that was for sure.

Moki flinched at the sound of Professor Decessum's voice. As much as she would have loved to have pretended she did not exist at the moment, there were only two people who could tell this story, and one of them was in no position to do so, neither did he even understand how the whole thing started.
"Um, okay," she ventured, attempting to gain the attention of the two professors. "I was coming down here to uh... study, and I heard... somebody moving around. So I looked in here and Zachary was..." she hesitated for half a second "...chilling out. I was going to leave, but I accidentally startled him, and then I um... tripped over myself. And so then Casper came and thought I was attacked and then Justin showed up and saw Mike and last was Kat and here we all are now, in a nutshell."
It was probably the worst abridged and utterly false telling of the incident that had ever been conceived of, but the basic facts were there. Plus, if anyone wanted to know any more than that, they could all bear witness to the battle. It wasn't like she had to tell them how Mike and Justin each wanted to Avada Kedavra the other's ass, or how she'd ended up disarmed shamefully twice. Details, details.

Casper smiled victoriously through the pain emitting from his shoulder blade. There was a trickle of blood staining the back of his shirt where his obviously shattered bone had punctured through the skin. But none of that mattered now, he had succeeded. So caught up was he in the overall Slytherin victory that Zachary's Flipendo spell took him completely off guard. Despite Zachary's weak state, the spell was powerful, alot more than anyone else could have expected. It flew Casper back into the same wall that had previously shattered his left shoulder blade into about seven different pieces. This time, however, it sent one of the shards of bone directly into one of his vertebra. The intense pain was short lived as Casper's upright body fell limp onto the cold floor- unconscious.
Ooc: Sorry my post is late and that it really doesn't correlate with Amelia Decessum's post; but Zachary and I had already previously discussed that it would end with both of our characters unconscious.

"EXPELLIARMUS!"
Kat whirled around on her heel at the sudden withdraw of her weapon. Without a wand, she opted to fight the muggle way until she could regain her wand. She tilted her head about an inch to the side and began her approach towards Moki
"Petrificus Totalus!"
Her body seized and just before her stiffened body hit the ground she noticed Professor McKlennon approaching. Then the slight burning pain of the ground meeting her unsupported back came and she was rendered totally helpless, able only to think and hear.
"Justin, step away from Michael. Katarina, put your wand down; Moki, you too.
"Well gosh golly gee" she thought to herself "I would love to do as you say Professor but I don't have my wand... nor would I posess the ability to drop it if I did." As the house points were deducted and the arrival of Professor Decessum came she still just laid there, unable to do anything but listen. "Oh come one!" she practically shouted in her mind as Moki struggled over retelling the incident. "Somebody cast an anti-curse so I can help her out here!"

"Accio wand!"
Abruptly Justin turned his head around to face his attacker. Immediately after he realized it was Katarina, his eyes softened. "Look Katarina, this isn't a fight concerning the two of us. A gentleman never touches a lady." His speech was interrupted by a fiery chunk of wood that had made abrupt contact to the back of his head. There was an intense pain followed by a slow numbing sensation that consumed his skull. His blonde hair quickly matted with dark blood that was quickly turning crimson and his heartbeat filled his ears, completely deafening him momentarily as he fell to his knees.
Slowly his hearing returned and the numbing sensation was replaced with a massive headache that was not unlike a small alien attempting to birth itself from his cerebellum. He saw Professor McKlennon's approach but couldn't hear a word she said, only the expression upon her face let Justin know he was in deep, serious trouble.
. "You're going to explain to me what was running through your ignorant, immature little minds in this tyrade -- now!"
Professor Decessum's angry and abrupt words were among the first sounds he was able to make out and slowly he stood from his knees as Moki attempted to tell her story. "Yes, professor. It was just one-" he stopped speaking for all he could do was wince from his wound as he fully stood and the blood rushed from his head quickly. He regained his composure "It was just one misunderstanding that got out of hand. In fact," He continued out of boldness, or perhaps it was the head wound talking. But hey, what's the worst that could happen? More points deducted? Fellow Slytherins would hate him just as much for 150 points as they would 250. "I don't believe such a rash amount of points should be deducted. We were only acting out of loyalty to our friends and our houses. Granted," he looked down to his blood stained white shirt and to the once bookshelf which was now a pile of ash and rubble. "We didn't handle in the most mature of ways. But in all honesty, we are teenagers and we really don't think to handle things diplomatically right off the bat." he paused letting this sink in with the professors, hopefully positively, and looked down at Casper's limp body on the ground "Especially those of us with quick tempers. I know that I, personally, am sorry that there was destruction to school property and that the spells and curses got out of hand. But I am not sorry that I stood up for what I believe in." He finished looking back and forth between each professor's eyes. His headache was still present, but upon looking at Casper and Zachary, he realized he came out for the better.

"Are they okay, professor?" he said quietly attempting to sit up.
Professor McKlennon shook her head at his inquiry. "I'm not sure anyone wins in this situation, Zachary, but yes. They're fine." The woman's eyes scanned the boy's body for any major injuries she may have missed. "How about you? How are you feeling?"
Audra nodded back at Amelia. For a brief second, the newer professor was sure she would get in trouble for deducting points from the Slytherins. She just wasn't quite used to that power just yet.
"I don't believe such a rash amount of points should be deducted."
McKlennon's face was quickly turning to a similar shade of red as her hair. "Oh really? You're lucky you don't get expelled for this. Dueling in the halls? Out of bed after hours? Those are two of Hogwarts' most important rules, boy!" Though Justin was only a few years younger than herself, Audra spat the last word at him as if it were a curse in it's on right.
"We didn't handle in the most mature of ways. But in all honesty, we are teenagers and we really don't think to handle things diplomatically right off the bat."
Audra's eyes rolled without her conscious consent. "So, as professors, we are to baby you, the students, then. Am I correct? Mr. McCarter, you are or very near becoming an adult in our world. Do you think that all of the responsibility is just going to come to you as soon as you come of age? That your reasoning simply becomes easier then? Because if you do, then you're sadly mistaken. You have to learn it." The adrenaline was pumping through her veins now; her hands were shaking slightly from the excess.

Zachary was about to speak when Justin McCarter decided to speak up. He defended everyone, not just his house. They didn't rat me out.... I just knocked out his best friend, and her house mate, and they aren't ratting me out. He didn't have much more of an opportunity to think about Justin's nobility since his thoughts were interrupted by the red-headed charms professor who was now giving a good scolding to the blonde haired slytherin boy. Had it been any other professor Zachary would have spoken up , but this was charms, his favorite subject that he had a natural aptitude for. "I'm okay." were the only words that left the ravenclaw's bloody mouth for the next few moments. They weren't even truthful, or honest words. He was anything but okay, he wanted to go to the hospital wing badly, but was not about to admit it.
The professors hadn't noticed the giant crimson stained hole in the stone wall (thanks to caspers knockback charm plus Zachary's head) and he wanted it to stay that way, as the proffers listened to McCarter ramble on Zachary cast a quick nonverbal sequence of charms. Repairo! The stone's flew back into place as if watching an old VHS tape in rewind, only without the impact this time. Scourgio! The crimson red stains around the aria were instantly cleaned to their original state. I hope this doesn't effect charms........ I really was eager for that class...
