It was storming, around seven o clock. Zachary resigned in his normal position, propped up in the window post of the elegantly blue common room. He closed his potions book, anyone in ravenclaw could tell you Zachary had his text books memorized. He read them endlessly into odd hours of the morning. He was sick of just reading, his classes weren't advanced enough, he wanted something more. Some form or way to actually practice.[/b]
The common room was unusually empty tonight. Most of the ravenclaws were probably around the great hall, at that "party" someone attempted to throw. Socials never really were his scene, he had his select friends, and that's all he wanted. By now everyone at Hogwarts was beggining to realize the vast amounts of money Zachary possesed. Every inch of him screamed loaded. His books, his bags, his clothes, and most of all, his attitude.
He decided to take a stroll around Hogwarts, after all he desperatley needed to learn the halls. He was unsure of his destination's location, but with the secrets and mysteries of Hogwarts it was a sure promise to find something to capture his attention.
It was rounding 8 when Zachary found himself wandering in the third floor corridor. He was just taking a stroll, clearing his mind, and waiting for something worth his while. He took a left after a giant silver suit of armor, who Zachary prayed was empty. He then found what he was looking for. And he knew it.
He entered into a massive room, about a fourth the size of the great hall. The edges filled with glorious shining trophies of year's past. But the stories that accompanied the marvelous accomplishments wasn't what interested him at all, it was the open space, a massive open space, that interested Zachary.
I guess it couldn't hurt me to practice some advanced magic in here..
Zachary was one to think things through, so before taking another step he started swirling his wand around creating barriers around all the cabinets, he really didn't want to curse any school property.
With another elegant swish of his perfectly crafted Japanese dark mahogany 11 inch wand he conjured a practice dummy. This should be fun! Let's see... whats that nonverbal again..... oh!.... Aguamenti! Without a word a giant stream of water began to wind its way around the room, then around the defenseless dummy.

Days had passed since she'd last spoken with Maeve, but Moki felt like everything was blurred, flying by with no explanation or sense of clarity. Oddly enough, her grades had only improved as a result. Somehow knowing she was supposed to make a decision that would affect the rest of her life gave her the sense that she had better stop fooling around and learn, because something these professors taught might actually come in useful at some point. It wasn't that things had ever been particularly difficult for Moki, just that she'd never cared enough before to put the effort in. Teachers seemed to be noticing, although she wouldn't have given them the first clue as to why the mischievous Slytherin had suddenly become a brilliant student.
The evening had found her homework done early for the third time that week (or ever, for that matter). Moki hurriedly scarfed down whatever the Great Hall had featured for dinner before making a beeline for the library. There were the things she had to do and the ever-growing list of things she wanted to do. Right now, she possessed in her characteristic purple purse a book on some seemingly random advanced spells. Danger was a possibility, sure, but she'd botched a few spells in the past, and had picked up quite quickly one or two healing ones in the process. She wasn't particularly worried.
Moki traipsed rather aimlessly through the hallways, not quite knowing where it was she wanted to practice. The Slytherin common room was about the last place on her mind. Richelle hated her guts after the Yule Ball, Watson hadn't been around even if they did happen to get along, and Eric was too busy obsessing over the aforementioned young ladies to make associating with him anything short of a chore. The combination was exhausting, not to mention she figured if her father was right about anything he'd said in his letter, Slytherins were probably prime objects of suspicion, and therefore the worst possible people to practice questionable spells in front of.
After some time, when Moki had quite lost track of where she had wandered, odd noises issued from a room somewhere in her vicinity. She stopped dead, tensing defensively, before realizing they were not intended to cause her any harm. The rushing of water broke through the relative silence, and Moki became curious beyond all reason. Whereas part of her was itching to read the spellbook she'd just acquired, her stereotypical troublemaking streak that had been suppressed for an unprecedented number of days urged her to investigate. She fought an internal battle for about twelve seconds before the naughty side won out and she found her ear pressed to some door, listening to what sounded like an ocean on the inside. She couldn't for the life of her figure out what the hell was going on in there. Silently and stealthily, she pushed the door a fraction of an inch, just enough for one eye to make out part of the situation.
An older boy, probably around 16 or so by the look of him, was pummeling a dummy with a rather impressive water spell. Moki wondered why she'd never seen him before. It was unusual for students to transfer into Hogwarts after their first year, although not unheard of. She was just about to leave when she noticed something else that grabbed her attention. His wand... she glanced down at her own reflexively. Japanese make, for sure... she could spot it a mile away. Same as hers. That was odd, to say the least. He didn't look Asian. "Strange," she remarked, a little too loudly. Gasping at her own clumsiness, she saw his eyes meet where her own were prying, and quickly covered her mouth with a hand. Good grief. Could she never stay out of trouble?

The sound of the rain pounding on the windows of the trophy room were soothing, the thunder and lighting made this secretive practice all the more mysterious, some may even say a bit eerie. Aguamenti was advanced magic, Zachary wasn't even sure if it was thought at Hogwarts. Trapping you're opponent in a giant ball of water seemed to be a great defense, as long as your opponent didn't have gills.
Zachary's mind had placed him in a battle, he was no longer cursing a dummy, but he was fighting for survival. Mastering his curses were vital to suppress elimination. Life or Death, keeping concentration was vital He must not get distracted.
"Strange."
This voice wasn't voiced by a fourth year slytherin girl. It was coming from a preditor, and without a word, or second thought aguamari was broken, and the silky silver jaguar was sprinting towards the intruder. Then his vision was snapped back into reality, his patronus unsummoned, his voice furious. "What?" He stood erect, wand still raised subconsciously.

Moki's eyes widened to the size of saucers as Zachary's patronus stampeded in her direction. Through the shock and fright she felt, her mind was simply cataloging the information that the Patronus Charm should perhaps be moved to the top of the list of spells she wanted to learn on her own. It was odd how calm her mind could be in a situation like that. Regardless, her survival insticts kicked in and she let out an audible "EEP!", diving aside from where the patronus was headed. As it disappeared, Moki lay in an incredibly undignified position on the hallway floor. "Owwwww," she said quietly, picking herself up and turning to glare at the door from which the spell had come.
"What?" she heard an angry voice say. Okay, so she could see why the guy might be mad. She'd apparently startled the hell out of him. But still. She hadn't meant to. Moki had intended to leave him alone before she'd noticed his wand. Even then, she hadn't wanted him to know she was there. She was mostly just taking mental notes and happened to slip up. Crossing her arms, she pouted as she waited for her attacker to inevitably emerge from the room and prepared to be cursed out.

Hogwarts' dimly lit and archaic castle stone walls contrasted greatly from the contemporary London home Capser Castora was accustomed to. His parent's home was lined with massive glass windows allowing ample sunlight to reflect off the waxed hardwood floors and snow white walls. It was so much unlike the current frigid hallway he found himself walking down. It was tradition that he cured all nostalgic thoughts of home with a visit to the trophie room. The color of gold glistening in the lights gave him a sense of happiness. Gold reminded him of money, money reminded him of power, and power brought him to happiness.
He was no exception to the Castora mentality of power and was raised to be the best and care about no one. "Emotions are a weakness." his grandfather would tell him as far back as Casper could remember "It's hard to break someone who cares nothing for anyone else". As one can imagine, the Castora family, as most Slytherin families, are extremely close and only friends with those who could be considered beneficial or worthy of their time.
"What?!"
Casper lifted his brown eyes from the hallway floor at the abrupt sound of a male's angry voice. In the hallway a younger fellow Slytherin was picking herself up off the ground. Instinctively, Casper withdrew his wand- certain that he had just came upon a duel. He cleared his throat and approached his fellow house-mate "What seems to be the issue here?" he inquired in a perfectly calm and gentlemanly manner which contradicted the adrenaline coursing through his veins at the thought of entering a duel himself

Justin McCarter's leather shoes made hastened but deliberate steps towards the one room in the castle he could imagine his childhood friend, Casper Castora, had disappeared to. Foolishly, Justin had decided to attempt a potion far beyond his years and skill and it had gone slightly askew, resulting in the dungeon walls to be dripping of blood. He tried many counter spells but that only resulted in the blood turning from black to crimson- there was no way around it, he needed assistance.
As he approached, he slowed down at the sight of Casper and Moki standing outside of the Trophy Room. "Casper! Do you remember that...." he trailed off noticing Casper's wand in his right hand. Justin mimicked him immediately and approached the pair of Slytherins trying to assess the situation

Moki's face looked positively relieved at the sight of the older boy coming towards her. Thank goodness, she thought. At least whoever she'd pissed off probably wouldn't curse her in the presence of somebody else. Unless they were friends or something, in which case she was completely fucked. She immediately threw herself back into defensive mode, answering Casper's question without clearly identifying a victim in the situation. "I think I startled him," she confirmed, pointing a thin finger at the door. Now fairly certain that her dignity was all but gone, she added proudly, "It was an accident. I just wasn't expecting him to throw a spell at me blindly as a defense." She looked over his shoulder and recognized Justin coming down the hall in quite a state. "It's okay," she assured the pair. "I don't think you'll need your wands. I'm sure whoever is in there can work this out calmly." She hoped, anyway. Biting her lip, she was unable to hide the anxiety in her eyes.

Shit! Who the hell was that? Probably a damn prefect. This never happened.
His thoughts were going crazy, he had just gotten to Hogwarts and already he was caught practicing unaceptible magic in an unacceptable location. He cast a quick mirror charm on himself. not sure if I did that right..... But it should deflect at least one curse, just incase. His position now revealed why his patronus was a jaguar. He stood perfectly still, erect and poised, superiority glowed from his skin; when left alone a magnificent creature, when disturbed a vicious monster. "Look here, whoever you are!" His voice did not stutter or let up one bit as he opened the door. He noticed there were three very irate looking slytherins standing in the hall. Had they nothing better to do than watch Zachary? He continued with his powerful voice booming, and wand at the ready, "This is going to stay hush, no harm done, no problem!" he made eye contact withe the two boys, "Got it!?" Zachary knew he was out numbered, but chances were that he could hold his own for a little bit, at least. He had mastered nonverbals and even managed to invent a few spells. He was an advanced wizard to say the least, and quite honestly, he was ready for a fight.

Moki had to choke back a laugh at Zachary's reaction. He thought she was going to tattle on him? Well, probably not her in particular, his words seemed to be aimed more at her housemates. Still, the irony was staggering. He was attempting to avoid punishment for the very thing she too had come to do. Maybe the trophy room wouldn't have been her first choice of locations, but the point remained. Unable to hide the amusement in her eyes, she averted her gaze, not wanting him to think that she was laughing at him. She could tell Zachary was annoyed, and she was generally not an antagonistic person. Still, should things happen to get out of hand, she was no coward, either. Win or lose, she'd hold her own until the very end. Bearing an acceptable amount of Slytherin pride, Moki didn't make it public knowledge that the Sorting Hat had very nearly put her into Ravenclaw four years ago. She possessed a lot of ability she didn't let on about.

"This is going to stay hush, no harm done, no problem!" he made eye contact withe the two boys, "Got it!?"
Casper stood for a moment, not letting any expression grace his face. Inwardly, he was confused. What exactly was suppose to "stay hush"? His brown eyes took in this new character. There were certain attributes that Zachary possessed that Casper was well-acquainted with- pride, composure, money, and, judging by his threats, vindictiveness. So why was he not sorted in Slytherin as well? He certainly possessed the right qualities. Glancing down at what Casper immediately recognized as a Japanese-make wand it clicked. Ravenclaw here was practicing magic in the trophy room and judging by his defensiveness, probably either dark or unapproved magic. A crooked smirk crept its way upon his face, he couldn't pass up this superior position that Zachary had placed him in- the ability to cause him endless weeks of detention, perhaps even, judging by what spells he was casting exactly, expulsion.
He crossed his arms, wand still in tight grasp in his right hand, and walked towards Zachary slowly "Well, well, well..." he began, "Ravenclaw attempting to perform illegal magic in the Trophy Room?" Casper stopped his approach and met Zachary's blue eyes with his own cold and collected orbs. "Don't you think you should stick to spells a little more... Oh how shall I say it? More in your expertise."

Zachary was beggining to feel a threat. He was surrounded by wizards just as confident as he. He knew that neither he nor his slytherin counterparts were backing down. Zachary was not one to tell empty threats, or to have big talk. He talked in magic, power, and money.
There was a familiarity between he and the one that was calledCasper; they seemed so alike it almost hurt to think about. Perhaps Zachary knew him from somewhere? But facts like that were immiterial at a time like this. Casper was now toying with Zachary, & he was enjoying every minute. Zachary was in no mood. He had been very very irritable lately for reasons he kept privy. This was the breaking point.
"Your right. I should! there was now a hit of ridicule in his voice, & in ablink of the eye his right hand clasped his wand as it made a perfect over-the-head swing.
LEVICORPUS! he thought with vengence.

"Your right. I should! there was now a hit of ridicule in his voice, & in ablink of the eye his right hand clasped his wand as it made a perfect over-the-head swing.
Before Casper had time to defend himself, he felt his body jerked into the air- whacking his skull against the stone floor in the process. The slightly painful, tingling sensation that only a head wound can bring, crept down his spinal cord. Initial shock of the process wore off quickly- no more than half a second- and he regained his composure. Aiming the wand at himself he calmly said " Liberacorpus" which unbound his leg and he dropped to the floor quickly, landing smoothly in a crouch position. He stood erect "Somebody has been practicing his nonverbals!" he responded patronizingly. He wants to cast second year spells like Levicorpus, we can play this game. As to not be outdone, he decided to return with a nonverbal spell himself and in a quick movement he swished and flicked his wand shouting "Tarantallegra" forcefully in his mind. A blue light streamed from his wand but, due to Zachary's previously applied mirror charm, it bounced off of him and directed itself to Moki.
His smirked formed into a smile at Zachary's cleverness. Finally... an opponent worthy of dueling

Mike Blaze had been out of sorts for the past few days, worried, distracted, and wanted nothing more to vent all his anger. He had managed to get some of it out, but he was pissed off at everything right about now. He walked down the steps from one of the upper floors where his Common Room was, now stepping on to the Third Floor. He was planning to go for another walk, to think things through when he heard voices coming from the corridors in the Third Floor. Looking sideways, he noticed lights and shadows coming from the Trophy Room. He pulled his wand out of his pocket, and strolled in to the Corridor. Twirling his wand in his fingers like drum sticks.
Carefully looking in to the Trophy Room, he was rather surprised to see Moki at one side of the room, not surprised to see Justin McCarter and another Slytherin guy that Mike didn't know, nor did he care to know, this unfamiliar guy face to face with Zachary with Justin next to him. What the hell is going on here? Mike asked himself before he saw spells begin flying between Zachary and some Slytherin Mike had never seen before. He walked in, smirking, looking directly at Justin for a moment, "Well well, what do we have here? Do you Slytherins honestly think you can take a Ravenclaw and win?" he said, shaking his head. He glanced at Moki, he didn't know what she was capable of, but he wasn't going to let his guard or let Zachary take this alone, a 2 V 1 or even a 3 V 1. Walking behind Zachary, he clasped a hand on his shoulder, despite his anger at Zachary before, he wasn't going to let Zachary have all the fun, he needed some back up. "Honestly, you were planning on doing this on your own? You know I'm here for you, bro." Mike said, smirking, pure hatred formed in his eyes as he turned to look at Casper and Justin. Raising his wand, "You ladies want a duel, then?" he said with a laugh.

Moki had seen that coming. Quick as a flash, she pointed her wand at herself and said, "Protego!" as Casper's spell reflected off Zachary. Throwing a glance at Casper that seemed to say a lot for a facial expression, her magic dispelled the charm. It wasn't like he'd meant to hit her, but she was annoyed by having to defend herself in a schoolboy duel. She shrugged it off, a grim smile showing she was fine. Then she caught sight of Mike, who immediately supported Zachary. Moki became edgy. It wasn't exactly a secret how much Justin and Mike liked each other. It was Slytherin vs. Ravenclaw, that was clear. But she didn't exactly have loyalties to anyone here. She met Mike's gaze confidently. She had a feeling things were going to get nasty in a hurry.

"Yeah, whatever, Casper's Mine."
Mike smirked, "Thought you'd sound more, relieved to see me here, considering it was a three on one, before I arrived." Mike knew Zachary was probably more than capable of taking Justin and Casper on his own, then again, maybe not. Although, when he said this, he was just trying to bust on Zachary a little. When Zachary claimed Casper as his, Mike smirked even more, "I have Justin." Mike said threateningly looking at Justin, hatred in his eyes. Mike had always had a grudge against Justin, he didn't know why exactly, just something about him, partially because he was a Slytherin of course, and now was a perfect time to turn some of his grudge in to actions. He turned his wand a little, aiming it at Justin's chest. Mike's smirk becoming an excited smile almost, indicating he was ready for a duel.
