The first day of classes. Audra McKlennon was feeling more than her fair share of nervousness as she sat on the top of her desk at the front of her classroom waiting for her first class to begin. It was like being a first year, all over again. That's because you ARE a first year. First year teacher.
The new professor fidgeted a bit, looking over at the pile of papers she would magically lay on each desk as the students picked where they would sit. She had never been one for seating charts. With a flick of her wand, Professor McKlennon enscribed her name in a brilliant red chalk.
Checking her watch, Audra took her place on the top of her desk again, instead of in the chair. She cast a simple spell and started to levitate several inches above the desk. Now, we wait...

Mike Blaze walked in. He had been late to Arithmancy and figured, not exactly knowing how strict Professor Mcklennon could be, he'd show up on time. Walking in with his bag, he picked a seat, of course, towards the back. "Good afternoon, Professor Mcklennon." he said as he sat down, letting his bag fall on the floor beside him. He pulled out his notebooks, setting them infront of him, he leaned back in his chair with his feet up, as usual. His favorite position to sit and kill time while waiting for other students to come in.

Moki stopped outside the door to the Charms classroom, looking up at it like it was a great obstacle. She sighed dramatically. It wasn't like she didn't like the class, it was just that it was school, and that involved work, and that cut into her goofing off time. But, no use in stalling, she decided, and smiled as convincingly as she could manage as she opened the door. Apparently she was early - not something she was known for being - because it appeared that only the professor and the sixth-year, Mike, whom she remembered meeting a few days before at the lake were in the room. "Hullo, Professor!" she said cheerfully as she approached the front of the room, sitting down near where Mike was lounging. She flashed him a grin as she slung her purple shoulder bag onto the desk carelessly. "How's it going, Mike? I dunno if you remember me, I don't think we've ever been introduced properly, but I'm Moki. I saw you at the lake a couple days ago. You were talking to that girl Riley, I think." She bit her lip, realizing that she was going on.

Maeve was actually right on time, not late not early. Life was goood. Tapping her bookbag which felt like it weighed about a hundred pounds, she hefted it to her shoulder one last time and entered the Charms classroom.
Whew! A teacher, Mike, and Moki. Woohoo! She knew people! Even if they all were way older than her it was still nice to be able to wave at people. Which is exactly what she did! Waving at both Mike and Moki she slid into a seat semi-near theirs. They seemed to be talking so she didn't want to interrupt. But hey, if they wanted to talk to her, she wanted to be close enough they could.
Trying not to eavesdrop, she grinned up at the teacher and tried to be a good little scholar. Tapping her tooth with her extra large Sugar Quill she wondered what one did to look like a scholar. Oh yeah, get a book out.
Reaching into that massive bookbag which she suspected had started eating other people's books, she grabbed out her Charms textbook. There was NO way that bookbag was that heavy at the beginning of the day. There must be some spell on it making it eat others' bookbags. She hefted it lightly and stared at it. She'd heard of a revealing spell but...oh wait look like a scholar Maeve. Come on now, focus, focus. She finished opening her Charms book and started leafing through the first few pages.
Glancing up at the teacher she realized the teacher was floating! Cool! I wonder when we get to learn that? Maeve drifted off into a daydream where she just floated to class and her books floated along behind her. That would be wicked!

Charms. Hell yes! Favorite class, favorite teacher. Well, Audrey suspected she would be her favortie teacher anyway. She'd never actually had her. Audra McKlennon was a lot like what Audrey wanted to be when she was older though.
As she walked through the door, she knew she was right about Professor McKlennon being her favorite. She was levitating! Of course, Audrey could do that too, but what teacher started class like that? The amazing kind! Audrey giggled.
"Hey, Professor McKlennon," she said as she nabbed the seat beside Mike. "Can I levitate with you?" Audrey knew the answer would be no. She wasn't even supposed to know how to levitate yet, but she'd been doing extra reading over the past couple of terms and she'd been practicing a bit since she'd come back to Hogwarts early.

The sounds of Katarina's feet running echoed through the halls as she hastened her way to Charms. Kat was in this odd position. If she walked, it would put her late to class; however, if she ran she was going to be on time if not a minute early. Now if she could find a happy medium- say, skip- then that would be perfect. But what bloody idiot goes around skipping to class?
She entered the classroom with an abrupt stop. Her dark brown hair was ascew and frizzy and her shirt hung untucked from her skirt from the run. Quickly she attempted to straighten herself up as she glanced around the room for a familiar face. Thankfully, her gray eyes landed on Audrey and Mike and she attempted to take a seat beside them as quietly as possible.
"Hey guys.." she said barely above a whisper as she laid her satchel down beside the empty chair.

Charms. Ugh. Not Hunter's favorite subject, but then again Hunter didn't have a favorite subject. He walked into class with about five seconds to spare. "Whoa." He looked at the floating professor. Why are all the new professors insanely hot this year? He took a seat by Audrey. Looking around, he noticed Mike and Kat too. "Looks like the gang's all here." Hunter pulled out his textbook and quil. "Hey Kat." He winked at the darker haired girl. "You're looking good."

As Moki took a seat near where he was, he studied her face for a moment, "Yes I remember" he said nodding, "Nice to meet you, Moki." Mike turned his gaze upon Maeve who had walked in. He knew Maeve a bit more well than Moki, as he had seen Maeve multiple times, near the lake with Kat and Audrey, on the Quidditch Pitch, up in the towers. He nodded to Mave, giving her acknowledgment.
As Audrey walked in, his interest sparked, one of the only people he was looking forward to seeing most in class. "Hey" he said smiling as she sat down. As Kat came in, he nodded smiling at her, "Hey Kat". Mike moved his hand to the side of his desk closer to Audrey, he didn't know why, but he liked it more when she took his hand to hand rather than him taking hers. "Yeah it does, sup Hunter?" Mike said, replying to Hunter as he sat down, smirking at Hunter's whoa comment at seeing Professor Mcklennon knowing exactly what he meant by it.

"You know it's all for you babe!" she was kidding of course and Hunter never seemed to mind her perverted jokes and very open flirtations. Quickly she tucked her shirt back into her skirt and pulled her hair back into a messy bun. There. Good as new.

Riley ran through the empty corridors, red curls bouncing crazily behind her. Her black satchel started slipping of her shoulder and she gripped it more tightly, desperately trying to keep it on. She game to the end of the corridor and burst into class suddenly. She stopped abruptly and looked at the heads of several other students she knew. She scanned the classroom from the back. Mike. Audrey. Kat. Moki. The young gryffindor girl who couldn't fly yet. And the teacher. LEVITATING above her desk. Riley burst into a ridiculous fit giggles at the surprising sight, but immediantly stopped as the other students gave her curious looks. She felt the blush creeping up her neck to her hairline, blending in with her red locks.
She slummed to the front of the room, as far away from any of the others as she could, not looking any of them directly. She threw her satchel onto the stone floor and fell into her seat, sloucing down as far as she could. This wasn't gonna be fun, she could already tell. Not with the group of students sitting in the back laughing and chatting. Just another reminder of her lonely existance.

Moki smiled at Maeve as she walked in. Damn, they were running into each other all over the place! Not that it was a bad thing. She really liked Maeve. They had a lot in common. "Hey, how's it going?" Moki asked the redhead. "You liking your classes so far?" Wow, that was a lame question. She shook her head, her eyebrows furrowing as she mentally slapped herself for the brain fart. Moki's eyes widened as the guy she remembered as Hunter from potions walked in. She watched as he complimented Kat. Oh, his reputation wasn't misleading, that was for sure. She was endlessly amused by this guy.
She snapped herself out of it. She was really letting her mind wander. Hunter was a seventh-year, and liked girls a lot. Not in the "I like girls because I'm a guy and I'm not gay" kind of way, but really, really liked girls. As in, he hit on pretty much everyone. Little Japanese girls were just part of the package, she chided herself. She was being silly. Not that he wasn't great to look at, it was just not a good idea to think such things.
Moki tore her gaze away as the fifth-year she'd met at the lake, Riley, walked into the room. She raised an eyebrow in curiosity as Riley, avoiding eye contact, sat down at the front of the classroom. She wondered why...? Moki felt kind of bad for the girl. Riley was known for being something of a loner, that wasn't any fun, probably. She turned to Maeve. "Hey, you wanna come with me and sit with Riley? I feel bad that she's all alone. I know she sat there herself, so I dunno, maybe she doesn't even wanna sit with any of us, but I'm gonna at least ask her if she wants some company."

Justin walked into the Charms classroom, his bookbag hanging loosely on his right shoulder. His hair hung in a shaggy, un-styled mess about his head that seemed to suit him and his uniform was kept neat aside from his tie hanging loose around his neck. He took in his surroundings. Mike, Moki, Maeve, Audrey, Kat, Hunter, and Riley.... Not a bad group of people to share a class with for the next year. Smoothly he took an empty seat between Katarina and Hunter and removed his text book and parchment from his bag. "G'morning Kat.... Hunter"

Kat glanced at Justin sitting beside her. Why was he there? They had never really hung out, and she knew nothing other than what she was told about him no more than a week ago on the lawns. What she was told, she didn't care for. She sent a look to Hunter, mentally begging him to give her his opinion of Justin; after all, they were in the same grade and in the same... sport of girls. Surely he could tell her something that Audrey had not been able to.
She looked back at Justin. "Good morning." she pulled a stray curl from the side of her face and began elegantly twisting it around her finger close to her neck. 'Tis an art mastered only by females; and who said she couldn't play a little with him?

Hunter, in respose to Kat's look, could only raise his eyebrows in surprised scrutiny. "Uhh...hey, Justin." His answer was both delayed and hesitant. He didn't know why Justin would think that after six years of rivalry he would want to get chummy with him in Charms. Must be this new teacher, Hunter decided. Floating lady must've put some sort of a charm over the room to make people like each other. Whatever. There weren't any girls in here he was dying to fight over. Unless Justin tried anything on Audrey. Then he'd have a problem, but until that happened....Damn, this teacher is HOT!

Woo. And now on to her last class of the day... Charms. Cady shouldered her bag and made her way to the classroom with a bit of a spring in her step. It felt so good to be out of the gross, dingy dungeons as well as out of the chilly fall air. It was time for a room with a reasonable and comfortable temperature.
The fourth year made her way into the classroom and sat down at an available seat, placing her bag near her so she would be able to get out her parchment, ink, and quills when need be. She rested her elbow on the desk, chin in her hand, and glanced around the room, waiting a little anxiously for the class to start. She just wanted to get this over with and go back to her dorm for the day. That'd be nice...
