Okay so in and then out. Quick. She wasn't tragically injured so if the doctor was even the least bit capable she would be good in no time. Damn wrist of hers dooming her to waltz to the wing. She knew she was being a real wimp. A double wimp at that. One for letting it bother her so much, I mean pft a broken wrist...whats the big dealio? I mean sure it's hard to appropriately execute her Librarian duties with such an ailment but it wasn't like she was bleeding to death or anything. I mean how old was she? he luck the dude would tell her to grow up, wrap it in a bandage and let it heal...wait did broken bones heal on there own? she supposed they did...eventually. But like she said she was a wimp and it hurt and well...she wanted it to stop hurting. is that a crime? no, it is not. Then she was a double wimp because she was seriously debating which was worse, the pain or having to go to the hospital wing. She shuttered slightly despising the thought really of both the pain and having to go to the wing. She hated hospitals, they gave her the hebee jeebies hardcore. She wasn't sure why..they just kind of, did.
Plus...she always rather allowed herself to become wrapped in her own silly little conspiracy theories about doctors and yea..she so wouldn't go there. Though her luck she'd walk in with a broken wrist and walk out with someone else's wrist being surgically added in and the removal of her own. She halted in her tracks then. She glanced around the corridor and turned muttering to herself lightly as she waltzed in the opposite direction of the wing and then halted in her tracks yet again. She was too old for this, jeez grow up Kaylee, will ya? Stop being such a wimp. She gritted her teeth and rotated on her heel once more sauntering towards the hospital wing.
She would be fine. The doctor was probably some nice old guy who has been doing his job for years...and years and years and she'd have no worries unless he like dropped dead while she was there...she halted once again biting down on her lip...she couldn't watch some dude die, she'd end up warped and in the loony toony bin or they'd fined some way to blame her for the geezer's death and she'd end up in Azkaban. Ugh. She sighed realizing how silly she was being and forcing her feet to move forward once again now able to see the door to the wing.
As she approached she stopped slightly, allowing herself a moment to steady her breath, she would be fine as long as the doctor didn't inquire as to how she acquired her injury, then she'd be embarrassed beyond belief. Se sighed and closed her eyes, if she couldn't see the beds and all the medical whooplah she'd be okay...it would be like walking into any other room in the castle, she could pretend she wasn't in the wing "Hello" she chimed unable to see if the doctor was even in the room or not.
Boota bing..botta boom. She had kept walking into the room and despite the fact that her left arm had been extended to prevent her from running into anything she had walked into one of the beds and lost her balance fluttering to the floor rather ungracefully "Eep" she squealed caught completely off guard and trying to push herself up bt wailing her head on the edge of the bed frame "Ouch" she whined lightly her right hand flying up as a knee-jerk reaction to rub her head which caused a shrill of pain in the wrist which was attached to that particular hand...double och and now apparently double injury, her eyes flooded open and she was dazed for a moment..ugh she should have just dealt with it...and let it heal itself or er...something. It would have worked out...okay probably not but still...

It was easy to find the Hospital Wing. Dinah had spent many hours here when she was in Hogwarts. It wasn't that she was a klutz just that sometimes she had problems with explosions, potions, or other things she shouldn't be messing with.
Right now she needed some Essence of Murtlap. Dinah wasn't injured but in her line of work it was a good thing to keep on hand. It soothed cuts, scratches, or other wounds. Besides needing it for herself it would be nice to have it on hand for the students that took her class, Herbology.
As she entered the Hospital Wing she noticed a girl who seemed a bit dazed and injured. Glancing around for the doctor and not seeing him or any nurses, Dinah grimaced. Quickly she debated leaving before the girl saw her but she really needed that Essence of Murtlap.
Grumbling under her breath about doctors who were never around, Dinah threw her black braid over her shoulder and approached the other woman. "Here." In a brusque voice Dinah reached down to the other woman. Despite the roughness of her voice Dinah's touch was gentle. Just because she was naturally standoffish didn't mean she was cruel. At a glance, even Dinah could tell something was wrong with the other woman's wrist and from the dazed expression on her face she had probably bumped her head too.
"Let's get you on the bed and I will go see where the doctor is." Dinah waited to see if the other girl could understand her before she tried to help her on the bed. All she needed was an accusation of assault to top off her life.

A warm smile spread across her face as she heard Dinah's voice "Oh thanks" she answered glad and at first Kaylee mistook Dinah for a nurse but realized otherwise when she rambled on a bit about seeing where the doctor was, she gently tugged on Dinah's hand to raise herself up off the floor and plop gently onto the nearest bed, the one she had ran into. She glared at the bed as if it was it's fault, one of these days she'd figure a way to properly see and inanimate object...but she supposed it was there first, and she'd run into it, thus it had grounds to sue her, eep...never mind that.
Her head pounded a bit and she drifted for a moment concentrating on the throb until she could hear it as if the wound had a pulse of it's own, as if it beat rhythmically against her skull. "Thank you" she chimed once more a bit embarrassed that she'd been found by a fellow co-worker in such a state. Bewildered and on the floor of the Hospital wing, didn't Librarians already have a stereotypical image of being rather odd, she didn't need to in force this forethought with any actual proof. Otherwise she'd end up rather the outcast, or so she imagined, and that would be simply tragic.
She sighed lightly allowing her feet to swing steadily back and forth over the edge of the bed, dangling not because she was short but because the beds were oddly high up off the ground and out of the corner of her eye gleamed the metal frame she had banged her head upon, this place was hazardous, and that made her laugh. Now she had a legit unnerving hospital experience that she could use to rationalize her fear of the place. A lump formed then, randomly in her throat, as she realized now that perhaps things could go as terribly wrong as she had previously feared...ugh she really was too old for this...or was she? I mean...you don't grow out of fears...not all of them at least and she had random bits of logic behind this particular one that would probably mean clinging to it rather efficiently for quiet some time from now, but at least now she would have a witness if any real torture went down or something went too terribly wrong...
If the geezer did randomly deiced to kick the bucket there were two of them now, but then again they could twist it upon both of them...well if Dinah was gona be her cell mate she might as well introduce herself "I'm Kaylee by the way" she chimed warmly and casually, oh jeezum not only did her co-worker catch her at a very undignified moment but she would hear the ever so embarrassing tale of how she acquired the injury if inquired by the doctor, damn it. Ah well. One person thinking her rather loony wouldn't do too much harm, or so she didn't think.

The other woman helped herself up onto the bed and Dinah let go of her hand as if burned. Human contact was really strange for her. Somehow though the other girl's smile was a bit infectious. Maybe even contagious, Dinah's irreverent thought made a small smile appear on her face. This transformed her instantly to cold and unfeeling to a warm human person. As soon as she felt the smile though she quickly wiped it form her face.
"Thank you"
"You're umm welcome." Dinah cleared her throat and almost said something but then the other woman introduced herself.
"Oh yeah, I'm Dinah Mills. I'm kind of new here, teaching Herbology." Duh Dinah, can you sound any more like a moron?, Dinah's thought process seemed to have stalled out.
Pulling herself together she looked at the other woman and tried to smile, this time it felt fake and stretched across her pale face. "Here let me call the doctor. I won't leave or anything just want to yell and see if he is around."
If Dinah left the other woman with her luck the girl would fall off the bed and Dinah would be blamed. In Dinah's mind most of the time accidents happened around her it wasn't her fault yet someone always seemed to blame her. Truthfully though, most of the accidents around her occurred because of her experiments so hopefully nothing bad would happen since she didn't have one with her.
Raising her voice it rang out across the Hospital Wing, "Excuse me, Doctor? You have a patient here."
In a lower voice she told Kaylee, "I was just coming up to get some Essence of Murtlap so I don't really need to see him. However, since I don't know which storage cabinet it would be kept in I will stick around until he sees you." Again Dinah tried to smile at her co-worker. This time it felt more natural, she really didn't want to alienate one of the first people she met after all, not yet anyways.

"Nice to meet you Dinah" she nodded her tone thick with sincerity. Then nodding when Dinah said she was going to call about for the Doctor, suddenly colored with guilt, as Dinah tended to her. She didn't need to stay on her account. Plus she wouldn't want to drag Dinah to Azkaban with her, she snored like a chain saw, the woman was bound to go nuts if she was Kaylee's cell mate. She was just about to speak up when Dinah, on a lower note, informed her of her own reasoning for being her. Which made her feel better about her staying, she'd try and make sure the Doctor tended to Dinah first as it would be quicker and Dinah could be on her way, she really did feel bad...as if she was inconveniencing Dinah. Though she was probably just being silly.
Her curiosity always tended to get the best of her...I mean if Dinah wasn't hurt what did she need the Essence of Murtlap for? Wasn't that a healing...well she did say she taught Herbology didn't she? made a little sense then, she supposed...to have it on hand for the kiddos. Kaylee had thought about being a Professor once upon a time but she supposed it wouldn't be allowed, she wouldn't be thought responsible enought o take care of the students...I mean it wasn't like they would meat Benji's fate...she didn't have to feed them like she did or was suppose to Benji. What could she say? she was forgetful, the memory of a...well of a whatever doesn't ahve very good memory. Not sure what she would ahve taught either...maybe Charms, she was nifty with her wand...then again History of Magic was somethings he would have done splendid with, but the constricted hours and all that whooplah bugged her, she loved her current staff position more then anything... "Oh okay, thank you...again" she chimed warmly laughing because she knew she was overdoing the thank yous, but she couldn't help it...or think of what else to say.
She looked up again, this time looking to see if The doctor or perhaps a nurse was coming...maybe the geezer already croaked...they couldn't be blamed if the time of death was before they even entered, that was assuming the could prove they walked in afterwords and not before hand...ugh...either way it could be spun against them, she hoped she was horribly wrong. Perhaps...the doctor was simply busy...or out to lunch...not dead...nope not dead...or so she hoped...damn her over active imagination...as well as her tendency to jump the gun and assume the worst case scenario...

Leaving the other girl's bedside Dinah paced over to some storage cabinets. As she had thought they looked like they were locked. Not wanting to try them in front of her new colleague Dinah went back to a bed. Hiking herself up just a bit, she was tall yet the beds were higher than her rear, she sat down. Wow! These beds were very comfortable, at least compared to the cot she had down in her office. Maybe she would try to convince the doctor to let her have one.
Dinah decided it would be ok to relax a bit and wait for the doctor. Eying Kaylee, Dinah realized the other woman seemed a bit panicky. Hoping she hadn't just saddled herself with a nutter, she decided to talk to Kaylee. "So what do you do around Hogwarts?" Fearing she hadn't been clear enough she continued, "You know, work, play, etcetera?"

"Oh, well work wise I'm the Librarian" she paused smiling and thinking how to answer the latter part of her question "Well er, I like to write...and like to paint and sketch and things along those lines, plus I love to cook and bake" she was well aware she sounded like a bore war, but she really wasn't...or she didn't like to think herself such. She was rather the free spirit up for anything and everything, but she was rather young in her tenancies, she wasn't much of a partier or anything like that unless it was karaoke style. She didn't drink either though she knew many who did, she thought firewhiskey rather gross when it boiled down to it, plus she's seen how people acted and she had no desire to be anything like that,..she was bad enough sober...imagining her under the influence was plain scary. "m for fun I like watching movies and stuff like that, but mostly traveling...I like getting out and about and off castle grounds every now and again" she trailed off realizing she yet again sounded rather lame and sneared inwardly at herself "You?" she asked hoping that Dinah's answer wouldn't be much better then her own simply so she didn't feel as lame.

Listening to the other girl reply Dinah began to feel like she had stepped back into the fifties. Ok so maybe that wasn't fair. Still, she felt she did much more exciting things. However, once Kaylee asked her the question Dinah felt hard pressed to say what exactly she did in her spare time.
Fumbling for an answer she opened her mouth and the truth came out, "Well, I pretty much just do experiments. I breed different plants together and it's umm, really interesting." She halted kind of embarrassed because that was pretty much all she did for fun. "It's dangerous too." That lame comment was supposed to help make her seem more interesting. Dinah fell silent trying to think of something else she did for fun.
"Oh I read alot too. I might see you at the library. I heard your Restricted section is quite interesting." Her gray eyes unfocused at the thought of all those books waiting for her now that she was a teacher.
Suddenly she felt a bit impatient and embarrassed that she had babbled like a schoolgirl at a sorority crush. Jumping up from the bed she paced around the room again looking for the doctor. "Doesn't your wrist hurt something awful? Last time I broke something I about passed out." Without waiting for an answer Dinah continued with a mumble. "Where 'is' that blasted doctor anyhow?"

YOOUU RANGGGG Chris was in the backroom. He had the door closed and the tv was on, so he remained fairly oblivious to the noise going on outside his little room. Especially because he was so focused in what he was doing, which was actually many things. First off, he started by watching this dumb muggle show... he liked watching those... they made him laugh. Muggles could be so silly... not in a bad way... just a funny way. Anyway, he was watching this show and started to get a bit irritated. Chris was leaning back in a chair with his feet up, until he sprung forward and out of his chair. "WHAT COME ON?!?! this guy's supposed to be a 'doctor' and he can't even heal his own stupid leg..." Rolling his eyes and turning off the tv, Chris then decided to work on his project. Yup, he had a project. He set up a large fan in the room. And attempted to perfect his slow motion, wind blowing through his hair walk. Yah know, like they always have females do too look sexy on sitcoms. Chris felt he could pull it off. Which of course after a few tries he gave up... because all his papers in that room blew everywhere. Who needs patient files right? Turning off the fan, he took a look in the mirror. "All that wind screwed up my hair!" Sighing he grabbed a bottle walking back over to the mirror. "Gel and Twist." he said fixing his hair. And thats when he thought he heard talking... "Company?" He said with a grin. Grabbing his white coat that he had on the back of the chair and threw it on. He looked back into the mirror. "...Studly..." He said and nodded. With that he walked out into the wing... completely unaware that he forgot to put his shoes on... thus making his very bright multicolored socks more noticeable. Well hopefully whoever it was didn't look at his feet. Chris walked down to where he could hear the voices... but they wouldn't know he was coming... as each footstep made no sound. As he got closer the people came into view. Chris walked up right behind someone as they were talking. "Blasted doctor?... Well... I can't tell you where that guy might be.." He said and smiled. "But I'm perfectly amazingly nice always on time doctor... maybe i could help." He said with a laugh. Well they were complaining so they must have been waiting a while... WHOOPS. Chris usually heard when people walked in but... the tv and very large fan... didn't help his ability to hear that much. "The names Chris... Chris Rivers." He added. "...What can I do you for?" What a weird phrase... did he say it right... It sounds so weird. What can i DO YOU for? ... '...for free... ' Boy that would be a nice answer. But he expected to get some sort of medical problem as a response instead... as that was more sensible. Although.... those beds are MIGHTY comfy... God Chris get out of your head... they could have said a whole list of things by now... and you wouldn't even hear... too preoccupied with your... immature thoughts. Snapping out of it... "Sorry to keep you waiting..." As he glanced over and noticed the other woman on the bed. Flashing her a smile. "...I'd imagine your the injured, sick, mentally ill one..." He smirked. "...I'm kidding... I'm sure everything is right with your noodle..." Although... judging by that bump on her head... Chris was quite wrong. Right about now, around woman like this he may be falling all over and stuttering like a klutz... luckily... decreasing his amounts of sugar and coffee... seemed to help with that. Kept him more in check... more cool... calm.... but one side affect is it did make him get these caffeine headaches every now and then. But it wasn't so bad. "...Soooo... you gals are?" He was referring to there names... but again... he couldn't help but think of such weird answers for that question. He could think up a few...umm...immature thoughts too... but for the sake of the readers lunch... I'll leave it out.

"Blasted doctor?... Well... I can't tell you where that guy might be.."
Her pale cheeks took on an ounce of color but if no one would notice unless they had been looking for it. As Dinah turned around she tugged on her long black braid before facing him. It had been rather rude what she had said. A brief apology halted on her lips as she faced him and then just stared.
First impression, handsome, well kept, competent. As her eyes traveled his figure...second impression, escaped from insane asylum. Was it even legal to wear socks like those? Couldn't they make someone have an epileptic attack just by looking at them? Dinah found it hard to take her eyes off the doctor's violently colored socks.
With a wrench she pulled her eyes off of them and back onto his face. She had missed a bit of what he said but by the grin on his face it must have been a smart mouthed comment.
"The names Chris... Chris Rivers....What can I do you for?"
Dinah just sort of blinked at him and before replying had to pull herself together. She wasn't often tongue tied in a situation and that made her a bit snappy. "In case you didn't notice there is an injured person over there." She jerked her head toward the bed where Kaylee still sat.
She said it just as he apparently realized who the injured party was. Nodding in satisfaction at his apology for taking so long to get out here, Dinah led the way to the bed.
"...Soooo... you gals are?"
Dinah lifted her head in a superior nod and with a cold smile replied, "I'm Dinah Mills. I just came up to get some Essence of Murtlap, if you have any." Dinah's tone was cold, her embarassment at having been caught griping about him had solidified the icy aura that Kaylee's open friendliness had begun to melt.

Kaylee had just started to mumble something about her wrist and how in hurt like a real...not pleasant word...when magically the doctor arrived and she bit down gently on her lip muffling the giggle that boiled within her. She was rather easily amused, thus she would admit but you had to admit, it was giggle worthy, there was Dinah ranting and raving and poof the doctor walks in behind her. If it had been her she would have been fifty shades of pink and red with embarrassment but Dinah seemed to be way more of a cool cucumber hen Kaylee could ever be.
Phew! He wasn't ancient...well there went that whole keeling over during some crucial wrist recovery moment and her and Dinah being blamed for his death and being sent to Azkaban where she was sure to drive the woman crazy with her chainsaw like snoring. Not only was he not old but he was pretty handsome and young. Oh god. What if...he was some imposter? just some doctor wanna be...oh ugh she really needed to stop, she was being silly.
Chris. Okay she'd have to er...try and remember that, she wasn't to spify with that whole name to face sort of thing. Especially common ones like his. But it shouldn't be too hard as he seemed rather the animated soul, it was always easier to remember someone with a personality verses...well some sort of drone. Her gaze casually casted downwards then and she noticed his socks, she couldn't help but laugh...oh drats she'd actually laughed that time...well broken bone...she could blame the pain, and the bump on her head...there we go, for once it paid to be injured. "Wrist" she chimed "I'm pretty sure I broke it" she smiled, then grimaced as she made the mistake of moving it as if to show him pain even sharper then before jetting through it.
"Kaylee" she chimed when he asked of their names "Ekhardt" she added casually but as a bit of a late reaction. Not that there were all that many Kaylees, well not that she knew of anywho, though for all she knew she could have some evil twin running about, buts he supposed her last name wouldn't be of any help then either because the clone could claim that as well, damn.

He watched as both of there eyes seemed to be fixed on his socks. Looking down he noticed he forgot his shoes. Great, now they prolly think im a moron... incompetent... can't do my job. "Ladies.. I'm up here.." He joked pointing to his eyes. "...Nahh... I couldn't find any of my normal socks... Don't yah hate that... Soo had to settle for these..." he said shifting from standing on his heel to his tip toes, looking down at his socks. He looked back at the woman standing in front of him. She was quiet for a bit before making a snappy comment, about the girl on the bed. "Well don't rush me..." he said with a wink. Not a 'baby... Im gonna violate youuuu...' wink but an 'I'm kidding..' wink... Although I'm sure it has a chance of being interpreted differently... Oh well... Chris didn't think about things before doing them. The girl just introduced herself as Dinah... she seemed quite cold. Maybe she was just tense.. they were waiting a while after all. " Very Nice to meet you Dinah. Very cool name by the way... never heard it before... unique. And Essence of Murtlap?... yes yes of course... it's around here somewhere. " he said tapping his chin. Whilst checking Kaylee out... in more ways then one. (I couldn't resist that LOOL ) He was checking her wrist. "Does this hurt?" He asked feeling her wrist... being gentle and moving it very slightly a certain way. He needed to determine if it was for sure broken or just a bad sprain before he started shouting out spells. Looking at her in the eyes... because sometimes.. people will be feeling pain and not tell you... it's odd and pointless i know... but it happens every now and then. He never understood why people would do that... especially if they are there for help... but it happened. "Kaylee, eh?...thats a pretty name.." he said setting down he wrist and turning around. Walking back to the room he came from. Walking inside he went towards the freezer and grabbed a small bag of ice... always had to keep that around. Walking back out he crossed over to a cabinet. Opening up he rummaged around a bit till he found what he was looking for. "Essence of Murtlap." He said holding it up and examining it. He walked back over to Dinah and Kaylee. "Ok.. So.. Kaylee... your wrist IS broken... buuuuut... being the amazingly attractive doctor I am... I should be able to heal it with the simple Episky spell. " Episky used to fix minor broken bones... so it should work on the wrist... as that was quite common injury. Saying the incantation, BADDA BING BADDA BOOM... "There... see how that does for you..." He said grinning. "...Oh nearly forgot..." walking over to her he put the ice on her head. "...Nice size bump you have there... hopefully that will help...And may i ask how all this happened to such beautiful woman like yourself? " he said with a grin. Turning around to face Dinah. "Ahhh and Dinah here... is your essence of Murtlap... But before i give it to you... do you mind me asking what it's for..." Man he was like a little detective. He was definitely laying off the sugar and coffee from now on... for sure... this was much better then stuttering... and being soo klutzy... although he was sure... his klutziness would always show through... take his no shoes for instance.

Her smile widened and her usual dimples etched into her features as he rambled on about his socks, aww they weren't his usual attire...too bad she liked them...hmm, wonder where he got them...she resisted the urge to ask him. Though once this was all doe and over...she was going sock shopping. Yup it was decided, well now she had plans for this evening. Well after she shut the Library down for the night and set up her usual bobby traps, those darn rascals...always a few daring souls who tried to sneak in at night.
She was brought out of her wandering thoughts as he twisted and turned her wrist "Oh ow, ouch...yea" she cringed a bit trying not to be a wuss about it, ugh. "Ha Thanks" she chimed as he complimented her name and dropped her wrist she glared at it now, as if it had betrayed her, as if it was it's fault it was broken...when in actuality it was her's. She watched as he dissapered for a moment and then re-appeared with an ice pack...he wasn't just going to put an ice pack on it was he? oh wait...that was probably for her head the throbbing still keeping a rhythm against her skull. Oh okay that made sense. Jeez have some faith Kaylee he's not a bubbling baffoon. She scrunched her nose like a bunny in disgust as her worry was confirmed, broken, ugh...well at least he could mend it.
It looked so simple, she actually felt silly for not being able to mend it herself...she twisted and turned it somewhat marveling and half expecting it to have not worked...but it did and she leaped up excitedly giving him a hug "Thanks a bundle" she chimed, oh ugh head rush...the whole leaping up thing...not such a good idea "Ha sorry" she apologized as she held the ice pack in place and fumbled back onto the bed, okay no more attacking innocent doctors she didn't need the whole world knowing she was a complete spaz and she should just kinda sit here for a bit, she was clumsy as is being light headed wouldn't help with her coordination any.
Oh Crap, he asked, ugh. well he only seemed to be asking about the bump on her head, and that was oddly enough the less embarrassing tale to tell so she was somewhat willing as long as he didn't also inquire about how she's broken her wrist. She blushed lightly glancing down at her feet and biting down gently on her lip "Well On my way in here I kinda, sauntered in with my eyes closed" she paused feeling the need toe plain why she had walked in in such a manner "I'm not the world's biggest fan of anything hospitaly, they kind of creep me out" she admitted but at least she did have some reasoning and wasn't just randomly walking around with her eyes closed, because that would be all the more odd. "And well I had a little run in with Betsy here" she said patting the bed, not really sure when she had named the bed, but at some point sub-consciously...she had.
"and after our little one on one I ended up on the floor, and banged my head on the bed frame when I tried to get up" she sighed glancing up at him and looking over at Dinah who had come in after all that sha bang so she didn't know until now why she'd come in and Kaylee had been on the floor and all dazed and whatnot. Well they'd probably both think her rather the ditz or loon or well...something along those lines but ah well...she supposed she kind of was.

((Im a moron guys. Sorry. Thanks Kaylee for telling me.. I just check my bookmarks but they never bumped. Sooo sorry again...am posting now. ))
As the handsome doctor made the observation about her name, Dinah started a little. She was not used to compliments, at all. Even though she was beautiful in a gothic sort of way (meant only wears black and has dark hair and pale skin) she had never garnered many compliments. "It's a umm family name." Thinking feverishly of a way to return the compliment without seeming to forward she hesitated and said, "Christopher is a nice name too..." Her voice petered out as she realized what a truly inane thing it was to say. A wave of color washed entirely over her face giving no doubt now that she was blushing.
Trying to forget what she ahd just said and done, Dinah turned her attention intently to Kaylee. Watching him carefully inspect her, Dinah nodded half grudgingly. With the socks she had been willing to reject him out of hand as an incompetent fool. However, being able to watch him work was quite impressive. Even while joking and carrying on he still managed to produce both a cure for Kaylee's wrist and some Essence of Murtlap.
Dinah had kind of spaced out for a moment after the doctor had given her the Essence of Murtlap. As she inspected the bottle she allowed herself a small smile. It was probably the happiest anyone would see her, when she thought about or worked on her experiments. Suddenly realizing he had asked her a question she snapped to attention (figuratively speaking of course). "Oh well..." Quickly she thought, as far as she knew she could still conduct her experiments as long as the students were kept safe. It would also be a great idea for her to be on the good side of the doctor since she just wasn't very good with major medical spells. They required a certain ambience that Dinah just simply didn't have. Skill she had in plenty, bedside manner, absolute zero.
Realizing her pause had been a little too long she gave a weak smile. "I do experiments with certain plants. I tend to have many, err, incidents. I like to keep some Murtlap on hand so that I can help soothe the minor injuries and cuts." Clearing her throat a little she gave the hardest part of her small speech. "I really appreciate you givin this to me. And, umm, Kaylee? How's your head feeling?"
Even though she had what she wanted, Dinah really didn't want to take off. She had become slightly impressed by Kaylee's bravery in not admitting her pain. Not to mention her thought about trying to actually befriend people for once might be useful.
((again sorry I wont depend on my bookmarks anymore...))
