Audrey was laying on her back, just relaxing. She was waiting for Kat to come out, but having someone else to talk to wouldn't be so bad. Some of the people who'd come back early were actually pretty cool. Well, other than that Riley girl. She didn't care what Mike said. She and Riley would never be friends. At least not in this lifetime, she thought. The sun was bright and the air was warm. It was a perfect day for outdoor fraternization. Actually, it was getting a tad hot, so Audrey sat up for just a minute to pull off her T-shirt, revealing a black tank top underneath. Her read hair was up in a ponytail, as usual, and she wore simple denim shorts and black tennis shoes. As she laid back down, she plumped her pillow, which was her back pack full of randomness, seeing as the term hadn't started yet and she didn't need her text books yet. She had everything she could think of that she might need while on an afternoon adventure with Katarina, including as extra set of clothes. Audrey never knew what Kat would think of to get into mischeif, but she didn't mind. She wasn't one who kept up with house points, or cared if she acquired a couple of detentions. The redhead threw her arm over her eyes, shielding her face from the sun a bit. Damn, Kat. Where are you?

Katarina Selene Devanport. The name wasn't spread around every corner as much as others, but she certainly had her fair share of detentions under her belt. Basically, Katarina wasn't too complex of a person- She decides she doesn't like you and she's relentless, otherwise she's the nicest person one could ever meet. Simple as that. As far as relationships go... she'd never been in one. Well, a committed one. In Kat's opinion, friends with benefits was the best for everyone, especially after watching her best friend, Audrey, suffer over the loss of her ex, Axel. From her overall silence in classes, students began to spread rumors of Kat. Some were true, most were lies but Katarina doesn't care enough about what other people think to correct them so more and more are created every year.
Long locks of dark brown hair was secured back into a ponytail by a red rubber band as sixteen-year-old Katarina Devanport walked across the lawns towards her dear friend Audrey. Despite the hot day, she still had on dark denim boot cut jeans completed with a black t-shirt displaying the name of one of her favorite quidditch teams the Fitchburg Finches. Not much thought was placed into getting dressed this afternoon. Hey! It was summer! What's the point in looking pretty?
Spotting Audrey, she hastened her pace to a skip and landed harshly next to her friend with a fast and high pitched "Hi ya!". Yes, she was feeling rather hyper today.... perhaps she shouldn't have eaten three cupcakes at lunch...

Audrey removed her arm from across her face and opened one eye. "Jeez, Kat. You look emo, but you sound like a friggin cheerleader." Audrey propped herself up on her elbows. "Did you have cupcakes for breakfast again?" She wrapped her arms around her knees. "Have a seat. Make yourself comfortable."

Did you have cupcakes for breakfast again?
"Who me? No! Never! Why would I do that?" sarcasm is a second language of hers and flows out of her mouth more freely than lava from a volcano.
Have a seat. Make yourself comfortable.
She scotted over laying her head mere inches from Audrey's and positioning herself to make an 'L' with their bodies. The soft kisses from the sun felt warm and relaxing upon Kat's fair skin and the soft grass created the perfect matress. "Okay, I am now, officially, comfortable." Comfortable, yes, but Katarina is not much of one for long moments of silence and zen. "So what are we going to do today?"

"So what are we going to do today?"
Audrey laughed nervously. "Before we do anything I need to tell you something first." She knew she would have to tell Kat at some point. Might as well do it now, when no on else was around to hear her confession, not that she was ashamed. "Umm...yeah. So you know Mike, right?" Did Katarina know Mike? What kind of question was that? Of course Kat knew Mike! Not only had Audrey herself personally introduced them in order to get Kat's personal seal of approval, Mike was also captain of the Ravenclaw Quidditch team, of which Kat just happened to be a part. "Well..umm...yeah. Ok, why is this so hard to tell you?" Audrey was rambling both inside her head and out and blushing to boot. "Ok, promise not to hate me? Better yet, promise not to hate Mike. It was my idea, mainly. Not that he tried to stop it or anything, but what guy would, really?" Audrey took a deep breath and shook herself mentally. She could do this. She needed to do this. "I had sex with Mike." The words all ran together, she said them so quickly. She tried to change the subject even more quickly. "Other than that...umm...I thought we would do a bit of the usual, you know: wrec havoc. Cause a bit of turmoil, strife, and confusion." Audrey's heart was beating a little harder than normal. She had, after all, just told her best friend that she'd lost her virginity to her relatively new boyfriend. Attempting to distract Katarina, she said, "So what evil plans have you thought of this summer that you would like to put into action today?"

I had sex with Mike
She looked at Audrey for a good long moment, staring her into the eyes. Then she released the longest and hardiest laugh that had escaped her lips for a long time. It was so funny to see her friend struggle over something that was obvious from the moment Audrey started speaking "Well.." she broke off for more laughter. "Well, as long as he was good in bed then there's nothing I can really be upset about now is there? Nothing worse than having your first time tainted by a bad experience"
So what evil plans have you thought of this summer that you would like to put into action today?
"Absolutely nothing... I figure it'll all just come to me in one big moment of brilliance."

Audrey felt her jaw hit the blanket below her. "Kat! What the hell?!" That definitely wasn't the reaction Audrey had been expecting. Ridicule and a few jabs at her promiscuity, sure. But acceptance and a crude joke? "Maybe you should have cupcakes for breakfast everyday." she mused. "The high calorie count will have it's effects on your body, sure, but your attitude will be greatly improved." Audrey was only joking, of course.
"Absolutely nothing... I figure it'll all just come to me in one big moment of brilliance."
The taller girl rolled her eyes. "Great, Kat. You were supposed to supply the rough plan and I was supposed to refine it. That's how this has always worked before. I'm no good at coming up with the hairbrained schemes." Audrey laid back and put her arm back over her face. "Start thinking. I'm sure we can come up with something if we try pretty hard."

Kat! What the hell?!
"Well, the way I see it, you're a big girl and can make decisions on your own. Besides, the dirty deed has already been done. What good would it be to ridicule you about it? Anyways... when I decide to shag a professor or something, I will have you reflect on this moment so that you won't say a word to me." she smiled an all be innocent smile.
Start thinking. I'm sure we can come up with something if we try pretty hard.
"Well...." she pondered for a moment "I suppose we can find me a lover since you have on now. I feel feel like the third wheel!"

"Anyways... when I decide to shag a professor or something, I will have you reflect on this moment so that you won't say a word to me." she smiled an all be innocent smile.
Audrey shook her head. "You'll be the death of me yet, Devanport." She looked at her best friend, trying to decide how serious she was. "If you do, I knew nothing about it," she said, deciding she was fairly serious.
"Well...." she pondered for a moment "I suppose we can find me a lover since you have one now. I feel feel like the third wheel!"
Faces started to float through Audrey's mind, attempting to find Kat a lover would be rather difficult. The girl was damn picky! "Well, not everyone is back from the summer holidays yet. But..." The redhead had a couple of ideas. She stuck with the one that she was pretty sure Kat would immediately shoot down. "There's always Hunter, you know. I know, I know...you two are pretty good friends too, but...I mean...if all your looking for is a lover...then I'm pretty sure Hunter would be more than happy to oblige." Both girls new how Hunter was. It was actually the reason they were friends with him. He'd tried his tricks on them when they were only second years and he was only a third year. Needless to say, it didn't work, but they somehow managed to forge an unbreakable friendship out of it. "I'm sure he'd love to have a second chance. Especially since he's...grown up...since then, you know?" She winked at Kat. A tiny, almost unnoticeable wink, but she knew Kat would see it.

If you do, I knew nothing about it. "You will want details about though I'm assuming? Because, all I'm sayin', is that we have some pretty attractive professors here. What?" she already knew what Audrey would be thinking "I'm a normal, hormonal teenager. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with finding a few of my male professors attractive..." she trailed off and began giggling "Okay, it is slightly disturbing..."
grown up...since then, you know?
"Ha! Haha! Hunter?!" she thought about it for a moment... it had grown up quite a bit... No! Never! "He doesn't even like me like that anymore! Not since we all became friends. We're like... guys in his eyes and you know it!" still there was the lingering thought of him in her mind. Hunter... hmm...

Dinah strolled along the broad green expanse that was the lawns of Hogwarts. Dressed to kill, in the business sense, Dinah wore a short black skirt, a white silky shirt, and a short jacket that matched the ensemble. At first glance she appeared to be a high powered business executive. However, a second glance ruined this first impression. The black dress suit was delicately woven with silvery arcane symbols, her hair was unfettered and drifted freely down to her waist, and lastly, the wand stowed safely in the breast pocket of the suit jacket combined nicely to ruin the effect of a Muggle businesswoman.
She was here attempting to get a job at the place that had been her home for so much of her childhood. After placing her application she decided to stroll around the grounds and see what had changed while waiting for a response from the Headmaster.
Stowing the notes from her latest experiment into her briefcase that she always carried with her, Dinah glanced around at the beauty surrounding her. As always it only had a slight effect on her, mostly a calming one. To her complete amazement Dinah felt a trifle apprehensive at whether or not she would get the job. Thankfully, the lawns soothed this anxiety away.
Taking a deep breath she allowed her mind to linger on her youthful days spent at Hogwarts. She hadn't spent much time lolling around the Lawns but she had spent many a fruitful hour here trying different experimental spells and receiving detention for them. She ruefully admitted to herself, with a rare smile that transformed her austere features into something warm, that she had rarely joined in any activities that were not directly related to her own comfort.
While she was lost in this uncommon reverie Dinah turned her steps back toward the castle and fell over two girls who sat on the lawns immersed in their own discussions. Her gray eyes blazed in fury at herself.. Dinah had never been a klutz and to appear to be one in front of two young girls was not exactly what she desired.
Standing up, Dinah brushed off her black skirt and jacket. Speaking stiffly but politely she begged the two girls' pardon. "I apologize for not seeing you there. Are you quite all right?"
She looked down at them her gray eyes calming and returning to their normal calculating cold selves.
Attempting to make an introduction in case they were future students Dinah spoke again, "I'm Dinah Mills. Ex-Ravenclaw student and hopefully future instructor here."

I'm Dinah Mills. Ex-Ravenclaw student and hopefully future instructor here.
Katarina's rain cloud gray eyes took in this Dinah Mills. "Kat Devanport. Current Ravenclaw student, sixth year." She felt as if she were a soldier announcing her name and rank. It was odd to be in the presence of a non-professor adult on Hogwarts grounds. Quite honestly, Katarina wasn't sure how to act or what to say. Her eyes glanced over towards Audrey Well this isn't awkward at all...
Ooc: Dude, that post was short and pales in comparison to yours, Dinah. But I did my best! LOL

((OOC: no worries...it's kinda my first post here and figured no one really reads the bios sooo... lol consider it a mini-bio XP ))
Sensing she had made at least one of the girls uncomfortable, Dinah grimaced. Shaking her head as if to clear it, Dinah tried smiling at the two girls. She hoped it didn't look as fake as it felt.
Dinah wasn't exactly used to social pleasantries but, Merlin's Beard, if she was going to be an instructor she needed to start somewhere. After all, she doubted the current Headmaster would be willing to hire someone who terrified the student body.

Randomicty plagued Annabelle life. There was no other way to explain why on earth she was rolling across the lawns her blond hair whirling and swirling as she went and of course she was in a fit of giggles the entire time. She halted randomly sprawling out letting her limbs flop effortlessly into awkward positions and she sighed lightly gazing p at the sky...just then hearing voices drifting towards her. She rolled so that she was propped up with her elbow and glanced around finally spotting the girls whom she assumed she had heard and hoping up and skipping over to them, she simply adored meeting new people "Hiya" she chimed enthusiastically and plopping down gently by them in the grass running her fingers through her blond locks well aware her hair must be massacred due to he rolly polly adventure "Whatca talking about" she asked casually not trying to be nosey...just conservative. She knew it may seem wierd, some random girl just plopping down and talking to you...but she was like that, far from shy indeed. [sowwies suckish =P]

Post by Justin McCarter on Jan 5, 2009 22:14:01 GMT -5
Justin McCarter walked purposefully through the lawns. He was sick of the dark, damp castle he called home over this summer; the lawns provided a drastic change to that, and he welcomed in the warm sunlight the season was so well known for with open arms. Denim jeans hanging loosely from his hips, a black v-neck t-shirt, and gray and white checkered Van slip ons created his attire for this afternoon. As he made his way farther onto the lawns, he noticed a group of three girls. Ah, yes. He knew of each of them (after all, girls are his speciality so to speak) but did not know any of them personally. The red head laying on the ground was Audrey Hitchcock, the current girlfriend of the Ravenclaw quidditch captain. He took a seat quite a distance away from the group, keeping the girls still in plain sight as he observed them. Of course, laying right beside Audrey was a dark brunette who could be none other than Audrey's friend, Katarina Devanport. She too was on the Ravenclaw quidditch team and who's cool, dark complexion contrasted greatly with the other two's warm blonde and auburn attributes. There was one girl left amongst the group. A Hufflepuff? What was this? A meeting of the Houses? Where's the Slytherin? Oh... he thought to himself That would be me... He glanced back over to the blonde hufflepuff, attempting to get a better view of her. Oh but of course- Annabelle Delacord. How could he possibly forget? He was in his fourth year when she was sorted and even then she stirred quite the conversation amongst the males of Hogwarts. Fortunately for him, he has a certain, acute amount of morality and vowed to never date a girl any younger than three years.
He gave himself a smug smile, knowing each of the girls gave him a sense of momentary power. He knew something about each of them, who else in Hogwarts could do the same by just looking? He looked down momentarily at the green grass, deciding just what on earth he was going to do in the middle of the lawns. He looked back up. Somehow he found looking at the three females fascinating from a distance. One blonde, one brunette, and one red head. All smiling, all looking lively. It was as if they were a picture painted before him.
