He was obviously a big flirt, interested in snaring girls, random hook ups, all that... but why the sudden seriousness?
Thoughts along the same line were floating through Hunter's mind. There was something about the girl...he just couldn't put his finger on it.
Trying to remain sure of herself, she inched her face closer to his, lips not too far from his own. "Oh, yeah?" she whispered back. "Compelling story. But what would be in it for me?"
Hunter almost went cross-eyed, trying to focus on the girl's face. He touched her hair, gently, and smiled. "Why, me of course." Usually he would have kissed her, really, he would have. But something about her just told him that he should let her kiss him, if she wanted to. He simply moved his face that much closer to hers; they were breathing each other's breath, and their lips were a hairsbreadth away from each other.

He got closer to her mouth and stopped, breathing against her lips, and Cady felt an involuntary shudder of desire pass through her body. It would be so easy to push forward just a little bit, meet his lips with her own, do what their bodies were telling them to do... or at least what hers was telling her...
Cady smiled and turned away, glancing at him over her shoulder and walking over to collect her socks and shoes. She was a little nervous (and a little excited, in a weird way) about where this was going, so she needed to feel like she had some control. Play hard to get and the little seduction games. It was fun, and frankly made the chase more exhilarating.
She pulled her socks and shoes on, smiling apologetically at Mike. He was witnessing quite the big game of flirtation. It must be sort of awkward for him. Once she'd finished, she straightened herself out and cast another look at the other Gryffindor. "Well, I guess I can come see your room for that shirt... for a minute or two," she said slyly. "I mean, to see what the whole fuss is about and all..."

Cady smiled and turned away, glancing at him over her shoulder and walking over to collect her socks and shoes.
Damn it. He had been sure that she would kiss him. And then she offered to come to his room.
"Well, I guess I can come see your room for that shirt... for a minute or two," she said slyly. "I mean, to see what the whole fuss is about and all..."
Hunter smirked, letting a small chuckled escape. "Only a minute or two?" The boy walked to the shore and grabbed his bag. Glancing back at Mike, he said, "See you later, bro. Tell Audj I said hey, will ya? I might be....busy for a while." Of course, Hunter knew what Mike would take that to mean. He also knew that he would be doing nothing quite so drastic. At least not yet. The boy shook out his hair, which was relatively short, and, with a grin, threw the towel to Cady. "You look like a drowned cat." The cutest damned drowned cat in the entire world. Things like that did not come through Hunter's mind a lot. Ever, really. What in the world was going on with him? Was he going soft?

"Only a minute or two?"
"Yeah," she said nonchalantly, shrugging and smiling at him. "Don't get too excited. Just checking out that shirt after all, right?" She started to make off towards the Hogwarts castle, letting Hunter say his goodbyes to Mike before joining her.
The boy shook out his hair, which was relatively short, and, with a grin, threw the towel to Cady. "You look like a drowned cat."
"No thanks to you," she shot back with a grin, catching the towel and using it to wipe off her face and dry some of the wetness in her hair. She didn't exactly look her best with her hair (and clothes) all sopping wet, but that clearly wasn't deterring the older Gryffindor. She watched, fascinated, as he smiled and shook out his hair, and she had to look away to break the silly schoolgirl daze. You're just a fourth year, she reminded herself. He likes to play the game. Don't expect too much. Once she'd finished with the towel, she tossed it back to him, aiming for his face.
"So, am I your first project of the term?" she asked coyly, brushing his hand with her own. "How many other girls have you managed to catch at the lake?"

"Don't get too excited. Just checking out that shirt after all, right?"
Hunter smiled. "Right." Let the girl think that. He would see what he could do to change her mind.
"No thanks to you,"...Once she'd finished with the towel, she tossed it back to him, aiming for his face.
The boy laughed and snatched the towel from the air just a second before it slapped him in the face. She had pretty good aim. Actually, she had pretty good everything. Hair, face, body, personality. She might be able to keep up with him....maybe.
"So, am I your first project of the term?" she asked coyly, brushing his hand with her own. "How many other girls have you managed to catch at the lake?"
Putting on his 'hurt' face, he looked down at the girl. "Project? I am offeneded. I don't make girls into projects." That wasn't the word he would use to describe it, at least. Cady's hand brushed against his and he lost what he was going to say after that. It had definitely been clever. Struggling to remember where his words had been headed, he said, "I don't fish for girls at the lake. You just offered yourself up, and I couldn't turn away in time to not be attracted." Hunter marveled at his truth. He really hadn't been looking for girls at the lake. "I just wanted to swim, and then you were there, interrupting everything."

Cady watched as he caught the towel. Damn. And it had been right on target too. She sighed and smiled at him anyway. "Nice catch," she commented, not without a little smirk of course.
Putting on his 'hurt' face, he looked down at the girl. "Project? I am offeneded. I don't make girls into projects."
Cady snorted a little in response, smiling and looking away lest that cute little puppy dog pout he put on his face make her forget herself.
"I don't fish for girls at the lake. You just offered yourself up, and I couldn't turn away in time to not be attracted." Hunter marveled at his truth. He really hadn't been looking for girls at the lake. "I just wanted to swim, and then you were there, interrupting everything."
"Oh, offered myself up, did I?" she asked, crossing her arms over her chest and sticking her nose up into the air. "By asking you what you were doing. And all your dirty little comments about my clothes that followed right after—certainly not offers, were they? And anyway," she continued, picking up the pace a little so that she could round on him and face him, walking backwards, "who said I'm offering you anything? Better not count your chickens before they hatch, big shot." She smiled cheekily at him and locked her hands behind her back, looking up at him from under her eyelashes.
Cady considered herself a rather forward person, not afraid to chase after what she wanted, but this wasn't exactly a familiar situation to her. Usually when she met strangers, guy or girl, they were only interested in friendship, and she'd never really tried to pursue anything more. This, however, was new: someone interested, someone toying with her. She felt her stomach flutter a little with—what? Nervousness? Excitement?—and did her best to seem certain, in control. The game was new and fun, and Cady just hoped it would yield even funner rewards.

Hunter laughed at her tyraid about 'offers.' "I never said that I didn't offer in return, merely that you offered first."
"Better not count your chickens before they hatch, big shot."
The boy took two long steps and made himself even with Cady and grabbed her hands. "Who's a chicken?" He looked around dramatically. "I'm not seeing any. Just this beautiful, if soaking wet, girl in front of me." He wasn't usually such a sap, but something about Cady just brought it out in him. "Besides," he started, letting her hands go and taking two steps in front of her. "I wouldn't call any girl who is coming to my room with me after just having met me a chicken." Hunter winked at Cady and laughed.

Cady was shocked, really, when he suddenly grabbed her hands and called her beautiful. She thought she'd figured this guy out with his flirtatiousness and player attitude, but this wasn't a card she expected to see in his hand. There was something about him that she couldn't quite place, and she was quiet for a moment, studying his handsome face thoughtfully. Finally, she let a genuine smile turn up the corners of her mouth—not exactly the coy, playful smile she'd been teasingly giving him the whole way through. "Stop," she laughed, pulling her hands away and turning around to walk alongside him again.
""I wouldn't call any girl who is coming to my room with me after just having met me a chicken."
Cady grinned and rolled her eyes, shrugging her shoulders. "No, I guess you wouldn't," she agreed. "I wouldn't really call myself that either." They'd made their way inside the castle at last, and now had only the staircase and the Common Room standing in the way of... well... whatever was going to happen once they got to his room. Cady wasn't entirely sure yet. She thought of herself as someone grounded, down to earth, reasonable... but this little thing that was happening right here was an adventure, and Cady really, really liked adventure. And she was also beginning to really like Hunter, who was mysterious in his own way, all flirty games aside. Figuring him out was a challenge, but not a challenge she wasn't up to.
"After you," she said with a smile, looking at him as they stood at the foot of the staircase.

Hunter grinned at Cady as he turned and took the stairs two at a time. He reached the top before she did, which he was used to seeing as how much longer his legs were than the average persons. "Are you coming or are you going to stand down there and stare at me all day?" The blonde laughed a bit. "I know I'm good looking, but the corridor is a bit drafty. And there's that whole missing shirt issue..." The boy let his voice trail off. She looked cute even when she was soaked to the bone with lake water. Was that even legal? He made himself stop thinking of her in that light right then. She's just another girl, Hunter. At least that's what he told himself.

Cady watched with a smirk as Hunter ascended the stairs rather quickly, taking them two by two. She wondered briefly if he was just having fun or trying to impress her, or maybe a bit of both. Either way, he was sort of endearing. And cute. But Cady was quick to wipe off the dopey smile on her face when Hunter turned back around to goad her. She couldn't forget he was a horndog, and she was probably the four hundredth girl he'd attempted to seduce. She had to be real careful here. This was all just fun and games... he clearly wasn't the type to want anything more, right? So she had to make sure to keep herself in check.
"I'm coming," she said coolly, taking her sweet time walking up towards him. "The architecture in this place is just brilliant, that's all... really can't take your eyes off it." She let her eyes wander along the walls which were crowded with paintings, people moving about in their frames. As she reached him, she looked at him and pretended to be surprised. "Oh, you didn't think I was watching you, did you? Sorry about that. Hope I didn't miss some spectacular show or anything," she joked, smiling at him as she brushed by and continued on her way.
Cady ran her hand along the rail and ascended the next staircase, eyes trained on the portrait of the Fat Lady up ahead that would open into the Gryffindor Common Room. She did her best to quell the butterflies in her stomach (why on earth was she so nervous?) and seem calm, collected, and self-assured, ready for whatever was to follow.

The shirtless boy fought the urge to run back down the stairs, grab her, and fireman carry her back up to the dorms. Though it would be rather hot, Cady was soaking wet, and that would just be cold at this point. He managed to keep himself in check as he waited for her to get done 'checking out the architechture' of the flight of stairs that she'd walked so many times over the past three years. Finally she made it to the top step and as she stepped passed him, she brushed his stomach lightly. Hunter gritted his teeth in order to avoid grabbing the girl and kissing her in the hallway. Instead, he grabbed her hand and half-pulled her up the last flight of stairs. Upon reaching the portrait of the Fat Lady, he recited the password and climbed through the opening.
"Up to my dorm now?" Hunter asked Cady as soon as she was through the portrait hole. He was getting more than ansy, not to mention cold. It was warm outside, but the inside of the castle was constantly drafty. "We still have to find that shirt."

Cady gasped when she suddenly found herself grabbed and half-dragged up the last flight of stairs. She did her best to mask the smile that bloomed across her face. So all her teasing actually did have an effect. Now he was being forward. He wanted the games to stop. Well, so did she.
He recited the password and the portrait swung open to reveal the Common Room, looking warm and inviting with an orange glow cast about the room by the fire. Cady had half a mind to tell him to go get his shirt alone and walk in the direction of the girls' dorms just to see what he'd do, but she found herself (strangely) aching for his touch, his kiss, for things to just happen. The room was on fire.
"Sure," she said instead, quietly, looking up at him from underneath her long lashes. She slipped her hand, still damp from her dip in the lake, into his and made to follow him up the stairs.

Damn it if Hunter wasn't lost in those lashes of hers. The kid never lost his cool, ever. Cady was the only girl that had ever made him act so--for lack of a better word--uncool. The feel of her hand is his was amazing, but he pushed those thoughts from his mind. Just another girl on the list, Hunter. She was definitely going to make it difficult, wasn't she? The boy led her up the stairs to his room. No one else was back from the holiday yet, so the other three beds were empty and unclaimed. Hunter collapsed on the top of his bed and threw and arm over his eyes, feigning complete exhaustion. Peeking out from underneath his arm, he looked at Cady. She was still soaking wet, dripping lake water into a puddle on the floor. The sight was incredibly funny for some reason, and Hunter allowed himself a chuckle. "Do you want me to dry you off?" he asked. "You're going to cause the floor to rot." The boy was smiling, something that the girls on campus seemed to find endearing. With Cady, though, it was sincere.

Cady did her best to quash the butterflies that were growing in intensity in her stomach, swallowing thickly and keeping her eyes trained on the door ahead. She wasn't sure what was going to happen exactly, or how things were going to unfold, but her nerves were beginning to eat away at her, and she couldn't for a moment figure out why. She liked this guy a little too much; normally she'd do what she wanted in regards to guys without a second thought. Not that she had much experience with guys, kissing, or anything of that nature, but she always kept herself guarded. Hell if she was going to look like a stupid, starry-eyed little girl with an unrealistic crush.
When they got into the room, Hunter threw himself onto the bed with his arm over his eyes. She smirked and crossed her arms over her chest, looking at him with what she hoped was veiled affection. "What ever happened to finding that shirt of yours?" she said with a roll of her eyes. Of couse she knew that it had all been an obvious ploy to get her up to the room, but she wasn't going to let the matter disappear without hackling him for it.
When he commented on her soaking the floor, she simply shrugged. "Nah, I'm good," she said, winding her wet hair around her hands and squeezing so that the water was wrung out into a puddle on the floor. "Look—not so drippy anymore. This bed looks a little too dry, though." She approached him to lean over and wipe her hands and arms off on the comforter. "That's better," she said with a grin.

"What ever happened to finding that shirt of yours?"
Hunter smiled and propped himself up on his elbows. "Do you really want me to find my shirt?" The boy gave Cady a wink. She rang her hair out, the water forming a puddle on the floor. 'Great. The house elves are going to love me for that one." He rolled his eyes. The kid really didn't care what the house elves thought about him. Then, Cady was leaning over his bed, wiping her hands on his comforter, and Hunter lost it.
Suddenly his hands were on her waist, pulling the girl on top of him. Quickly, his mouth found hers and started kissing. He knew he should wait, but, right now, in this moment, he didn't give a damn. He rolled the girl to where she was between him and the bed. Reluctantly, he pulled away. The last thing he wanted to do was make her uncomfortable. The boy got off the bed, walked to his trunk, and said, his voice slightly breathy, "Gotta find that shirt, right?"
