Addison, like any normal seventeen year old girl would do from time to time, laid on her bed in her dormitory, just thinking. There was some soft music playing from this new thing her eldest brother Sawyer had gotten her, which had also come with a dock. It was called an iPod or maybe just an iMuggle because this thing thoroughly confused her. Goodness, Addison was such a witch. Couldn't even figure out how to operate and somewhat simple muggle device. The young woman reached over with her left hand to her bedside table to switch the song so that something better would play out. She ended up sending it back to Sawyer with a list of songs to put on it because she was so confused she could not manage to do it herself. She liked the song that was on, but reached over again and flipped through a few more until she found the song Cyanide Sweet Tooth Suicide by Shinedown and stopped for a moment, chuckling. She adored this song, and yes part of it was the title to her character plot. Mhm.
Ms. Addykins listened to the song part of the way through before she reached over and paused the iPod dock, standing up and stretching her arms out above her head. She adjusted her jeans and plain black t-shirt with the small Ravenclaw logo on the front and her last name, Houseworth, on the back. She sat down with her shoes in hand and began to put on her plain black Chuck Taylors. The girl genuinely loved these shoes and wore them nearly everyday. After she finally managed to hide her small feet within them, she rubbed both eyes sleepily and picked up a small black jacket. She slid it on over her Ravenclaw tee and made her way out of the dormitory door, checking for her key and slipping it from her pocket to lock the door before making her way down the staircase and into the common room. A small smile crossed her face as she saw the many students lazing around. It was almost humorous to her, that so many people could spend time in here while she was simply happy to get away. She sighed softly as she crawled through the portrait hole and began on her way. She first had to make her way down the many flights of tower stairs to get to the seventh floor, and from there battled the moving staircases to get to the ground floor.
Addison, to be frank, knew exactly where she was going and her footsteps were slow and she continued there. She crossed the entrance hall in approximately half a minute, the place was huge after all, and finally reached out for the doorknob to the door that led down to the dungeons. She let it close itself behind her as she let her feet carry her on towards the portrait of the fruit. The moment she reached it she let her arm reach out, again, and begin to tickle the pear. The same smug smile crossed her face as it wiggled around and she could have sworn she heard a giggle come from it, as the painting swung forward and allowed her through into the kitchens. Addison began on her little adventure, not quite knowing what she was looking for here.
Some of her favorite house elves, Dainty and Smurffen, rushed over the moment they spotted her coming into the kitchen and she allowed herself to bid hello to each of them before continuing on. Smurffen followed her, asking her multiple times what she might like to eat, despite the fact that she repetitively told him that she could not make up her mind. Addison sighed once more as she finally spotted them. Snicker doodles. They were sitting on a counter a few kitchen stations away, and she quickly rushed over to them, receiving a look from the house elf who, apparently, had just finished making them. Smurffen told the other elf to shut his trap as Addison turned to him with a smile and took the whole plate that was there. She rushed over to an empty kitchen station and scrambled up onto the counter, sitting with her legs hanging over the edge as she pulled back the foil and revealed the cinnamony goodness of the cookies. She let the aroma waft into both of her nostrils and then picked one up, taking a bite. It was gooey and it was mighty delicious.
Snicker doodles seemed to hold more of a sentimental meaning to any of the Houseworth children than it would to anyone else. Snicker doodles had always been their mother's favorite cookies, and she would make them every Saturday evening and tell her children that they could have three each, if they ate all of their vegetables at dinner. Therefore, it seemed that Saturdays were the only nights in which all vegetables were eaten in order to get cookies. Addison didn't remember being forced to eat veggies for them, but she remembered the snicker doodles very well. She, along with her older sister Sage, continuously attempted to create the cookies the same way their mother had, using her own recipe. But it seemed that she had that special mother touch that made her cookies amazing. Ever since, Addison had not found a single snicker doodle that could live up to those once a week cookies.
"Mm. Thi oo." Addison attempted to tell Smurffen that the cookies were good as he shook his head at her laughing slightly and rushed off to continue on in his work. Addison looked around, now without company, and couldn't decide what she wanted to do. Stay here and watch the elves as she continued to eat her favorite cookies, which still could not live up to those cookies her mother used to make.
