Welcome to Transfiguration for term one! I'm your professor, Amelia (Sam if you want to speak out-of-character), and I'm telling you nicely to read these rules; after all, it's your grade on the line, not mine.
This isn't really a rule (more of a note): after lesson six, sign-ups for my class will be disabled. There's really not much activity you can do in my classroom to actually pass this class, and I'm not going to let you sign up when I know you won't be able to pass.
1. Do the assignment. I try my best not to give you much work, but transfiguration is a pretty active class, and you should understand this before you click the "Post Message" button in the sign-ups thread. If you don't participate and do your work, you could very well lose House points and/or be kicked out of the class.
2. Respect! That goes for me and others. There's a clear line between out-of-character and in-character, and you're all intelligent enough to draw it. If your character is a total snob, fine -- make things fun. However, I will not tolerate any out-of-character arguing or disrespect; in addition to swallowing your soul and devouring you, I'll get pretty darn mad... and you seriously don't want to evoke my wrath.
3. No one-liners! In addition to one-liners, no all-out-of-character posts (posts with nothing but out-of-character comments), and please, try to make things interesting. No one, least of all myself, wants to reply to something like, "Sally sat down and did her work, and then she left when the bell rang." See rule number two (as well as the site-wide rules) for your consequences.
4. PM me if you have any questions. Don't just do something and hope it's okay; if you doubt for one second that you shouldn't do it, there's this nifty little button under my name that lets you send me a PM, so please, don't be afraid to ask questions!
5. Pay attention to the subject line to see if I update these! All updates will be in red, and if I update this thread, it's up to you to check -- not for me to let you know.
