The large door to the Great Hall creaked open and through it walked a small figure wearing a blue hooded zip up sweatshirt over a T-shirt that sported the name of her favorite Muggle band, the Counting Crows. She had on white sweatpants and sneakers that she had bewitched herself to match her outfit. Moki walked to the center of the entrance hall and stopped. Glancing around very carefully to make sure that nobody was skulking somewhere that she had missed, she appeared satisfied that she was alone. Flicking her wand at the empty floor space before her, she made a giant mat-like thing appear.
She had not done this in quite awhile. Counting to herself in her head, she headed back from the direction she'd come from and concentrated on what she was doing. Running forward, she jumped and sprang forward onto her hands, turning over and landing on her feet a little unsteadily. She was out of practice, and it was definitely not beneficial. She thought about the night before, when Kat had hexed her almost without trying, and flinched. If she hadn't let herself get so damn soft there might have been a chance to dodge those spells. No matter... Moki took a deep breath and threw herself backwards into a back handspring, landing ungracefully on her butt. "Oh shit," she swore, setting her face in determination. She would get this. She picked herself off of the ground and took a few steps toward the edge of the room, thinking of another strategy.
She flew into the same running front handspring as before, landing with accuracy this time, and, using the momentum from that, tossed herself forward in a front flip. Her feet hit the ground definitively, with stability. A glimpse of a smile crossed her face - more than a smile, it was a look of triumph. Okay. Okay, this wasn't so bad. She could still move, whether she could do it gracefully or not.
Moki continued in the same fashion for some time, before sinking into the mat to rest for awhile. She was annoyed because she wasn't good anymore. It was going to take some time to get that back... assuming she could at all. She supposed anything was better than nothing, but still... it was discouraging to find herself so utterly out of shape. She sighed, thinking of how she could get better, and realizing almost simultaneously how strange it was that nobody had come through the entrance hall...
