Despite the random articles of food displayed on the house tables for lunch, Katarina's plate was empty. In place of her lunch laid a rather large leather bound book entitled "Advanced Potion-Making", parchment, and a quill and ink. N.E.W.Ts were only a year away, and Katarina was nowhere near prepared enough.
The white blouse of her uniform was un-tucked from her skirt, and her tie was pulled loose from her neck in an obvious attempt for relaxation. Bent over the parchment she wrote with the quill Jobberknoll feathers- used in Memory Potions and Truth Serums Her raincloud gray eyes looked up for the first time in forty minutes to observe her surroundings. A few students remained from lunch, but for the majority, the Great Hall was empty.

After finishing his second helping of what Andrew thought was steak or sausage or something, stretched his back a little. He glanced sideways at the door to the Great Hall, most students were leaving rather that coming in. His hand slowly went to his neck adjusting his own tie, double checking it was not tight around his neck. He never wore his tie like he should, even in classes, nor was he wearing his robes. Just the white collar shirt untucked of course as it was even in classes, with black jeans. Andrew was never one to follow others.
Glancing over his shoulder at the tables that were behind his table, the Ravenclaw and Slytherin one. He was just about to turn his attention back to his own table and get ready to leave when something, or someone caught his eye. Katarina Devanport who Andrew knew from his Potions Class. She was very cute, that was for sure, she along with only two other girls in the Potions Class were the ones Andrew considered the hottest. Andrew didn't know much about Katarina, he didn't know her personality or if she'd be girlfriend material. Julia was already a hand full for Andrew which he didn't mind one bit, but hey, meeting new girls isn't a bad thing. Just as long you don't get to far, that's when things get bad.
Swinging his legs around over the bench, he got to his feet, heading over to the Ravenclaw Table. Sliding on to the vacant spot next to Katarina, "Hey, Katarina, right? From Potions Class?" he said. He noticed how he always opened up conversations with obvious answer questions, but that was just a habit of his, and it usually always worked. "Andrew Levesque" he said nodding, with his hand slightly outstretched.

Alexander Noble made his was to the great hall for the lunch he had been waiting on for the whole morning. He had skipped breakfast since he was running late for class, therefore his stomach was now eating itself ina quite painful manor. He stepped in the great hall and was surprised to see only a fair amount of students there, had everyone not been as hungry as he? He immidiately walked past the Ravenclaw and griffindor table in attempts to make it to a few of his slytherin friends when out of the corner of his eye he saw something, a very, very not good something. Katarina Devanport was eing talked to by a Gryfindor boy. The same Katarina Xander had heard so much of a buzz about due to an epic battle in the trophy room. Apparently this smokin' hot Ravenclaw can kick some serious Ass.
His direction immediately changed, his stomach could wait. The school man-whore wasn't going to get to brag about Katarina Devanport if he could help it. He advanced on the two just in time to hear Andrew's introduction. The same andrew that Zander had heard was fooling around with Julia. "Andrew Levesque, Right?" he said taking his handshake in place of Katarina. "Good to meet you, but I'm afraid Kat and I had some lunch plans. Perhaps another time." he said almost mockingly. "Besides, I think i heard someone saying that Julia was looking for you." This time he had a twitch in his left eye as to say "Hey, Back off before I spill your story."
He took a seat next to Kat and said in a soft voice "Alexander Noble. You can call me Z."

"Hey, Katarina, right? From Potions Class?"
Kat sat her quill down with a bit more force than she intended, rather frustrated at the interruption from her studies. Slowly she lifted her gray eyes from the book infront of her to the newcomer. Did she have Potions with him? Her mind raced to place this sixth year Gryffindor, but was coming to no answer.
"Andrew Levesque" Still, no bells rang at the mention of his name. Just as she slid her fair hand from the table's surface to return the shake, it was interrupted by yet another stranger's hand.
"Andrew Levesque, Right?"
A Slytherin judging by his uniform. Mentally she made mental notes to ask Audrey and Justin about this new acquaintances.
"Good to meet you, but I'm afraid Kat and I had some lunch plans. Perhaps another time."
Slowly she lowered her head, but her gaze still remained upon Alexander. "We did?" she cast one more look upon Andrew "Besides, I think i heard someone saying that Julia was looking for you." Julia? Julia from Arthimancy? Was this her boyfriend? "Oh yeah! I completely forgot, how silly of me."

Andrew's eyes narrowed a little as Alexander approach, intercepting the hand shake that had been meant for Katarina. "Good to meet you He watched Alexander for a moment, "Wish I could say the same for you." he said raising his eyebrows slowly. He said as he loosened his grip on Alexander's hand only shaking it with a lot less enthusiasm than he usually would put in to a hand shake. "Besides, I think i heard someone saying that Julia was looking for you." Andrew smirked a little, he knew for a fact that Julia was busy with other things, he should know considering he had gone looking for her earlier. Anyways, this guy thought that Katarina knowing that Andrew and Julia had something going on would bother him? Maybe a little, but Andrew had no intentions of exactly flirting to the point where Katarina would fall for him, being that involved with two girls like that was not something Andrew would do. "We did?" she cast one more look upon Andrew "Besides, I think i heard someone saying that Julia was looking for you." Julia? Julia from Arthimancy? Was this her boyfriend? "Oh yeah! I completely forgot, how silly of me." Instantly from the confusion in Katarina's voice told him that these plans had been settled about a few seconds ago. "Well, I guess another time would be a good idea," he said slowly, beginnig to rise, with a smile on his face. Maybe Katarina didn't want him there, and there were no doubts that Alexander didn't want him there and they apparently knew each other and had lunch plans as of a minute ago, so maybe it'd be best to leave. Hearing Alexander introduce himself to Katarina before Andrew has risen all the way, he stopped smirking, "Funny, I would think the two friends with lunch plans would know each others names. I wasn't aware that it required one of them to introduce themselves. On second thought, I don't think Katarina would mind if I stayed a little longer..." he stated adding a little questioning to it, not sure whether Katarina truly did want him or not, but Andrew wasn't going to back down just like that.

"Funny, I would think the two friends with lunch plans would know each others names. I wasn't aware that it required one of them to introduce themselves. On second thought, I don't think Katarina would mind if I stayed a little longer..."
Katarina glanced from Andrew to Alexander and back to Andrew. All she wanted to do was study potions, was that too much to ask? Suddenly, her famous small mischievous smile found its way on her face. If they must play games with each other... she thought to herself They have no idea who they're up against Her smile turned into a full grin and she flipped her straightened, dark brown hair behind her shoulder. "Of course I don't mind if you stay Andrew." She turned her attention to Alexander "Surely you couldn't object to him joining our lunch plans could you? He..." She observed Andrew searching for a compliment "Certainly seems nice enough. Perhaps even a nice addition to our conversation about Potions" she smiled "After all, wasn't it because of your dire need of a tutor the reason we have lunch plans at all?"
She had no idea who Alexander Noble was, if he struggled with Potions, or if he was even signed up for Potions. However, she was rather perturbed at the two of them for interrupting her studies, and the last thing she was going to do was let them get away with was a nice conversation about food.

Casper looked up just as he was fixing to take a bit of a Salami sandwich and stopped before his tongue touched the bread at the sight of his friend and housemate, Alexander Noble, sitting at the Ravenclaw table with Katarina Devanport and some new guy. A Gryffindor guy. Casper immediately didn't like the looks of this, and, taking his sandwich in hand, approached the bench opposite of the trio that had developed.
He placed on foot over the bench and sat down with ease. "Z, Ms. Devanport..." he trailed off looking at the Gryffindor. "Who ever you are. What are you all up to on this glorious afternoon?" he took a large bite of his sandwich, observing them all. Alexander seemed to be out of place indeed sitting next to two complete strangers. As a matter of fact, Alexander was the only reason he had moved from he spot at the Slytherin table- why was he there?

OOC: My computer fails at posting a new thread right now. I'm going to jump in this one....hope you don't mind. (You better not, Jillian! LOL)
IC: Audrey walked in the Great Hall with a shiver. She'd been outside for the past fourty-five minutes or so, thinking about things with Mike, so the warmth felt extremely good on her frigid skin. The girl scanned the room, looking for anyone she knew that might still be eating lunch. Audrey's eyes almost skipped right over her best friend, Kat, accompanied by two guys. How interesting, she thought with a small smile. As she drew closer to the conversing trio, she recognized one of the boys: Andrew Levesque. He was a sixth year Gryffindor, like Audrey. Unlike Audrey, however, he was a whore. The redhead shook her head as she slipped into the seat beside Kat. "Hey Kat. Andrew," she said politely. Her other best friend, Hunter, was a whore as well. Who was she to descriminate. Audrey then turned her turquoise gaze to the Slytherin boy. "I don't think we've met. I'm Audrey Hitchcock," she said, holding her small hand out to him. He was definitely cute. The girl's right eyebrow lifted slightly as she continued the appraisal. Nice.
Audrey looked up as Casper spoke. She wasn't really sure what to say. It wasn't as if she knew the kid personally. She'd seen him about, and she'd obviously heard about him due to his dueling with the others. Instead of saying anything at all, she merely smiled tentively in his direction.

Leaning back against the table he watched as another Slytherin approached. Great.... another one of these idiots? Andrew sighed to himself. "I happen to have a name." Andrew said coldly, watching Casper for a moment. Of course, Casper was a Slytherin, Andrew didn't know him, but he already knew how much he hated this guy. It was a fact, all Slytherins were losers. "Andrew Levesque at your service." he said with a smirk, waiting for Casper's reaction to his previous comment. "Although, I really don't give a damn as to who you are.. I'm only here for the company of the lady." he thought to himself, wishing he could get away with saying this out loud. He wasn't one to be a jackass to people he had never met, but when it came down to Slytherins, it was different case. However, this guy seemed to be trying to be semi polite, so Andrew figured he'd return the favor.
His attention turned to a new comer. Andrew didn't see who it was right away, he didn't care who it might be, as long as it wasn't another Slytherin. It wasn't until he actually turned his head before he saw who it was, Audrey Hitchcock. The second of the three most beautiful girls Andrew knew of had arrived. "Hey Audrey." he returned her greeting with a nod, taking a few moments to survey her as she sat down in between him and Katarina. Things had been annoying with the two Slytherins, but now that Audrey had arrived, with Katarina, things were looking up. If Andrew could only find out if the rumors about her and Mike Blaze were true or not, he'd consider asking her out. But of course, asking a girl out with a boyfriend could bring some big problems.

Post by Justin McCarter on Mar 25, 2009 22:37:14 GMT -5
Justin had been preoccupied at the very end of the Slytherin table talking with friends. As the lunch hour progressed, his friends left and Justin was left alone. He stood half way, and took another gulp of his water. Just as he set the goblet down on the wooden table he noticed a patch of emerald green sitting at a table that was designated for blue. Alexander Noble and Casper Castora.. What are they doing there? he thought to himself. His green eyes moved to the other members at the table. Right beside Noble sat Katarina Devanport. This made Justin a bit jealous, there was no need to deny that to himself. To Katarina's right sat two Gryffindor students- one he knew as Katarina's friend Audrey, and the other was male who looked to be in the same year as Audrey and Kat.
This situation made Justin sick with curiosity and he made his way to an empty space beside Casper. "Well Katarina, does your blue tie make you feel out of place amongst the red and green?" he motioned to the Gryffindors to her right and the Slytherins to her left, she serving as both the division and the link between the two houses. He eyed the Gryffindor boy for a moment, trying to decipher his intentions. "I don't believe we've met" he began "My name's McCarter. Justin McCarter. You are?"

Xander ignored the comments made by the other guys, when the female race was to be found around, men weren't exactly Z's top priority. He wasn't very book-smart, but man he was a smooth-talker. He could manipulate his words like no other, to earn an A in any class. Or in any girl " "I don't think we've met. I'm Audrey Hitchcock," she said, holding her small hand out to him. He was definitely cute. The girl's right eyebrow lifted slightly as she continued the appraisal. Nice."This newcomer was... muy caliente.... that is to say her hair wasn't the only thing that was fiery hot. Z looked at the girls around, Damn! All the girls here are finnnnneeeeee!, "Hey there, I'm Alexander noble, but I'm sure you can choose your favorite nickname..... everyone else does. . . I was just asking this lovely young ravenclaw if all the girls here were as gorgeous as she, I guess you answered my question. So what's it like, you two, to be amazingly attractive?" He said this with that perfect smile he wears so well, he had the face of a typical ladies man, smug, clever, and down right dirty.

"Hey there, I'm Alexander noble, but I'm sure you can choose your favorite nickname..... everyone else does. . ."
Audrey knew how to play this game. She wasn't friends with Hunter for absolutely no reason. Her turquoise eyes dropped to the table before Audrey brought her gaze slowly back up, carefully looking at Alexander from under her lashes. The redhead allowed a timid smile to play on her full lips. "I've always liked the name Xander." Audrey leaned on her elbow that was on the table, putting herself slightly in front of Kat. She knew she had a boyfriend, but what was the harm in flirting?
"I was just asking this lovely young ravenclaw if all the girls here were as gorgeous as she, I guess you answered my question. So what's it like, you two, to be amazingly attractive?"
If the girl had ever had any doubt that he was just in it for the game, it was erased now. The timidness of her smile was gone as well; most of her pearly whites were showing due to her amusement. "I'm sure you're well aquainted with the perks of being attractive. You're quite a looker yourself."

( Sorry it's pretty lame. I couldn't really think of anything... ) Andrew leaned back against the table, watching Alexander quietly as he attempted to flirt with Audrey, he smirked, holding back his laughter, letting one slip, though it came out quietly. Not only did he watch Alexander, he watched Audrey. She seemed to be enjoying Alexander's flirting, maybe she was single, or maybe she just was having a little bit of fun even though she had a boyfriend, which Andrew didn't mind. Well, he figured he'd attempt to play his own cards and guess she was single, besides what's the worst he could do, offend her if she did have a boyfriend? Wasn't like he had any chance anyhow... besides Andrew had Julia, and if Audrey was going to flirt while she had a boyfriend, why couldn't Andrew when he had something close to a girlfriend?
When he saw a chance to intervene in to this conversation, he jumped at it. "Although I am never one to agree with a Slytherin" he said gazing at Alexander with a small hint of disgust, "I do agree with Alexander, you are indeed incredibly beautiful. I don't quite understand how a girl such as yourself is still single..." he watched her for a moment, praying on his life that he hadn't just screwed himself up by saying that.

"I do agree with Alexander, you are indeed incredibly beautiful. I don't quite understand how a girl such as yourself is still single..."
It was a good thing she hadn't eaten lunch, otherwise Katarina was certain it would have came up just then. She slammed the large book closed rather forcefully, a bit frustrated that she hadn't finished as much as she had hoped before it was time for her next class. "Does it really matter if she's single or not?" she asked Andrew curtly. Of course, Katarina knew the answer to this, but she wasn't going to volunteer any information. There was no use in hiding her slight irritations of Michael Blaze and it was good to see Audrey flirting with someone other than him for once. She placed her book and supplies back into her black, pink, and white plaid messenger bag and placed a scoop of strawberries on her plate.
"Well Katarina, does your blue tie make you feel out of place amongst the red and green?"
She smiled at Justin "Well, if you recall, I was almost a Slytherin myself" The memory of the sorting hat debating with itself over which house to place her in raced through her mind. For the first twenty seconds, which felt like all of eternity, the hat remained perfectly silent upon her head before finally shouting "Sly... Ravenclaw!"
"So I suppose I feel right at home." she smiled over to him
