Leigh was actually nervous, and she was not the one to get nervous. She was usually pretty calm and composed. Well she hadn't felt composed since she left Barcelona, but who could really blame her for being a basket case. But this was no time to think about that, she was getting her fresh start at the place where she was the happiest. Those were the days, she really had it great here, she was yule ball queen, she was at the top of her class, she had great friends and an amazing boyfriend. But she wouldn't think about that. She was here to work, even though she was extremely overqualified for the position.
She wasn't all that dressed up because she had literally just arrived, she didn't even know where she was staying. She didn't have the money to rent an apartment. She was only wearing her skinny jeans, a tee-shirt and a cardigan, all her work clothes were at the bottom of her suitcase. She walked down the corridor, getting more and more anxious with every step. What was she expecting, some mean old woman who wouldn't let her treat any of the patients. She knew that there was a new doctor. The old one she adored had retired or something. So she had no idea what to expect.
She finally reached the door after what seemed like an eternity. Oh god. this was it. She took a deep breath and pushed the door open and stepped inside. She was surprised and a little hurt that no one was there, she was sort of expecting a party. Who knows why, no one knew her here. She swallowed heavily before calling out, "Hello, Anyone here?" Maybe it was a surprise party and they would jump out any second. But there was no answer. That's a bummer.
She wandered over to a cabinet with medical like stuff in them. There were books and potions and an assortment of remedies for various ailments. She pick up a bottle of blue liquid and in the process knocked over a jar of lollipops, sending it flying down to the floor. God, that is embarrassing. she got down on her knees and scurried to pick them up before anyone discovered her. Darn those first day jitters.
