Aaric was on time, that was a good sign. He woken up well before the wee hours just to make sure he beat the class there. The first lesson had gone rather smoothly without incident. Well, other than the fact that he was ten minutes late and looked as if he had just rolled out of bed. Other than that, no, it was pretty much smooth sailing. Simply because none of his student had ended up in detention just yet. No lost of limb or any injuries. Just because it was an introduction class, when it came to Defense Against the Dark Arts lesson, it might be better not to underestimate the possibility of a lost limb on a mere non-practical lessons. Aaric sat in his chair, waiting patiently for the first student to arrive...

Amazingly, Julia was running early today. It was somewhat bizarre. She leisurely walked down the corridor, not a care in the world. It felt sorta weird. And there he was, the amazingly hot professer McLurcan. She was the first student to arrive so she had her choice of seats, she decided on a seat smack dab in the middle of the class. That way she could see everything and everyone. She slide down the aisle after giving the professor a sweet smile. She flung her bag down on the ground and slide into the seat.

Maeve dashed into the DADA classroom. Always on the run and always feeling like she was scrambling at the last minute, however, once again she was not late. Sighing in relief she smiled at her professor.
"Mornin' to you, Professor McLurcan." Slipping into her seat the little girl started digging through her bag for book and some parchment and quills. Finding them she laid them on her desk and straightened up. Sighing Maeve realized that her coppery mess was falling out of it's ponytail holder. Reaching up she gathered the red curls up and tied the holder in more securely.
Finally settled for class she looked aorund. She saw a Ravenclaw girl who was much older than her and way more interested in guys than younger Gryffindor girls. Maeve tried to remember what the girl's name was but had to admit she just hadn't been paying attention. Something like Jewel or Julie or June. Shrugging Maeve looked around hoping some of the other kids would show up soon.

Annabelle hoped through the door on one foot, a flip flop dangling from her finger, the other currently being slipped on, then alternating the hoping foot and sliding on her other flip-flop. He blond wavy hair all tossed up into a semi-sloppy bun. She had woken up late, well according to her clock anyways. She'd darted around her room to get dressed grabbed an apple off her dresser and flew through the corridors to class. The apple had been in her mouth as she was hopping about to put her flip-flops on, something she hadn't had tome for in the rush of things. She was caught of guard when she realized she wasn't late. her darn clock must be horridly wrong. She sighed taking the apple into her palm and chewing the bits he'd taken in order to hold it in her mouth a moment ago.
She took a seat in the back corner hoping that her rather scattered entrance had gone at least somewhat unnoticed by the two students or the professor. She didn't want him to think this was a common thing for her...even though it kind of was. She was bound to sow up at least twice in just her knee high yellow and black stripped toe socks, and no shoes at all. Oddly enough shoes were the one item of clothing she seemed to have the most issues with. Her room was a very organized cayuse sort of deal and being as care free as she was often had it's disadvantages when it came to being on time and properly attired and whatnot.

[OOC: I just got my character created and sorted, therefore I wasn't around for the last post of interductions. So Sorry. I'll just pic up from here, I guess]
Watson strolled into the classroom, scuffing her green converse on the stone floor just to hear the sound it made. She surfeyed the classroom intently from the back. No Slytherins; not that it made much difference to her. She looked to be the youngest one in the room, and she probably was, as usual.
She chose a seat near the front, sitting at a table alone. She slung her bag off her shoulder and plopped down into her chair, slouching a bit. She pulled her wand from her robe pocket, and traced the carved design with her finger, as she always did when she was bored. She waited for the the class to begin.

Aaric cleared his throat as the student slowly settled down in their seats. Second lesson, and he still feel awkward standing in front of the class with eyes staring at him. It was never much of a position he was fond of - teaching. "Right." He began, clapping his hands together trying to hide the fact his mind was drifting off. "Glad you decided to come back after the first lesson." He added, grinning slightly. The truth was, he had expected at least half of the students who had signed up would quit after just the first week. "Today we'll have a bit of discussion about Defense Against The Dark Arts and what you think of the subject." He continued, another discussion could easily lead to something a bit more than it intended to in the first place, but he had to take a chance somehow. "Defense Against The Dark Arts, from a general knowledge is a subject that focuses on defensive techniques to block spells, charms, curses, hexes and jinxes cast by other wizards, counteract the Dark Arts, and to protect from dark magical beasts and creatures such as the Boggart." Aaric added.
"Yes, that's basically what Defense Against The Dark Arts is, nothing over the top." Aaric said, furrowing his eyebrows together. It was fact, basically after all he had learned that was the best way to sum up the class in the simplest term there is. "Some - I mean, most wizards believed that it is important to learn the art for protection." He added, sounded slightly amused. "Some even go as far as claiming it as the most important subject there is to be learned." He continued, chuckling slightly at the statement. Aaric, personally, had never taken the class seriously during his younger years. Why he had applied to teach the class was beyond him. "So, with all that said, I wanted to know what you know and think of the art." He said, grinning, waiting for the first brave student to respond.

Watson pale thin hand shot into the air. She began speaking before the Professor even called on her. "I think DADA is an extremely important subject. My brother works for the Ministry of Magic, and he uses DADA very often in his job. So did my parents. They both worked for the Minister himself. It was very important to know certain spells in their top secret jobs they did for him. DADA saved their lives many times, except for the last time..." Watson trailed off relaizing she had gotten ahead of herself and said entirely too much. She slunk down into her seat, wishing she had an Invisibility Cloak.

Audrey woke up and rolled over, contemplating going back to sleep; however, something caught her eye. It was her alarm clock. For some reason it said it was passed 8:00 am, but it had never gone off. Thinking, at first, that one of the girls in her room had changed the time, she checked the small silver watchface that she wore on a simple chain as a necklace. Nope. 8:07. Shit! The girl jumped up and started grabbing pieces of her uniform. If she was late, that meant that Hunter would be late too, seeing as she was his friggin alarm clock. Audrey grabbed her shoes and slipped them on over her knee high socks. She grabbed her bag, ran to the door, then ran back to her bed to grab her forgotten robe. Stupid dress code.
She sprinted across the Common Room, up the stairs on the other side, and through Hunter's door. Yup. There he was. Snoring. Great... "Hunter! Get up!" Audrey started throwing the pieces of his uniform at the boy and prayed that he was wearing underwear. When he didn't budge, even as the shoe hit him square in the middle of his back, Audrey walked over and pushed him out of the bed. "Get up, Hunter. We're late. Your clothes are on your bed." The girl ignored his muffled grumblings as he got dressed, almost as quickly as she had. When he was finally done, they ran for the DADA classroom.
It wasn't until she had her hand on the doorknob that she realized what it would look like if they both walked in looking so disheveled. She tucked her shirt in, straightened her tie, and threw her robe on. Hunter could look disheveled. Girls would think that was hot. Audrey opened the door just in time to hear the end of Professer McLurcan's question. She made Hunter just stand there until the girl was finished telling about her dead parents. She knew she ought to feel sorry for her, at least a little, but it seemed this school was being overrun by orphans. She'd heard it all before, but she wouldn't hold it against the girl. It wasn't like she had killed her parents for the attention. Audrey looked at the professor apologetically as she walked in with Hunter coming in behind her, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. "Sorry Professor McLurcan. My alarm clock broke, but I'll be more than happy to answer your question. The defense against dark arts is important, albeit not as important as it was about ten years ago. Just because the Dark Lord is dead, doesn't mean that there won't be another loon lurking around the corner, just biding his time. Voldemort was not the first dark wizard, and I highly doubt that he will be the last. If he were the last, why would we still need Aurors? No. There will be more, because that's just the way our world was designed. And, personally, when the next dark wizard comes around, I'd like to know the very best ways to kick his ass."
Audrey smiled sweetly at the young professor as she sat in the seat behind Julia while Hunter took the one on her left. This was going to be an interesting class period.

Hunter was quite happy in his deep sleep. There was one helluva party going on in his dream, and of course all the best girls from Hogwarts were there. He probably could have forced himself to stay asleep for most of the day, but --
Audrey walked over and pushed him out of the bed. "Get up, Hunter. We're late. Your clothes are on your bed."
As the boy's head hit the hardwood floors, he knew that today would be completely different than the dream he had just been so rudely awakened from. "Whaddya mean we're late?" Hunter sat up, the blanket still wrapped around him, and looked at Audrey. "Oh, I see. You mean that you overslept and made us late. Ok....I get it now." He laughed at the whole situation as he pulled on his pants. As he continued to put on the remaining articles of clothing, Hunter was more and more amused by how irritated being late made Audrey. She didn't usually get her feathers ruffled this easily. "Mmmk, let's go, hot shot."
The run to the DADA classroom was pleasant for Hunter. Of course, his legs were so much longer than Audrey's that he was basically just jogging as she sprinted. When they reached the door, Hunter nearly ran the girl over as she stopped to fix her clothing. He glanced down at his own apparell and shrugged. His shirt remained untucked, his tie never got tightened, the brush never met his hair. Whatever. Girls thought it was hot.
The door opened and Hunter heard the professor's question and the little girl's answer as Audrey made him wait in the hallway for her to finish. He hadn't planned say a word to the professor about why he was late until Audrey tried to explain her half.
"Sorry Professor McLurcan. My alarm clock broke...
Hunter rolled his eyes and interrupted. "Yeah, and my alarm clock's alarm clock broke." He knew that most people probably wouldn't understand what he was talking about, but he really didn't care. He was still more than half asleep. As Audrey said her schpeal about the importance of DADA and the possibilities that there was another dark wizard on the horizon, Hunter grabbed the seat to the left of Julia and winked in her direction. She had been one of the girls in his dream. As Audrey took her seat, Hunter turned and looked at her discriminately. "Jezz, Audj. Talk much?"
