A yawn escaped her lips as she slid between the slot she'd left in the doorframe and the door and looked about her classroom. Carsyn looked down at her desk where her roster and all lesson plans were written down. She knew that History of Magic wasn't anyone's favorite subject, unless you were a crazed History fan like her, but she would hopefully make it at least a bit tolerable forthe students this year. She knew that it dissapointed any professor when a student didn't like their class, and she didn't want to be the subject of this disappointment. Shaking the thoughts from her mind she turned around and tapped the board twice with her wand. The piece of chalk that had been sitting on the tray of the board jumped up and scribbled across the board in Carsyn's tidy writing.
Professor Carsyn Brothers. Refer as Carsyn, please! Today is introductions. Welcome to History of Magic!
Requirements: Name, House, Year, and a little about yourself. Anything you are specifically interested in learning about this year.
Homework: None!
Points: 30 points for a proper introduction. 10 points bonus for a specific subject of learning.
Carsyn looked back when the chalk had finished tidily writing and made sure everything was spelled correctly and was just as she had wanted it to be. Since it was, she didn't bother with it anymore and took a seat on the front of her desk, perched lightly, her palms placed against the hard oak wood as she waited for the students to enter the classroom. As the few she did have entered, she began.
"Hello, and welcome to History of Magic." The look on her face was smug, even through the teethy smile she'd given them. "I'm Carsyn Brothers, you may call me Carsyn." She blinked, covering her rich brown eyes for only a moment before beginning again. "As you can see on the board, today we will be covering our introductions. I felt that we should keep it simple, seeing as I know that you guys are busy little bees with the beginning of term. So please, tell me your name, house, year and a little about yourself. For ten extra bonus points, please tell me a specific thing you would like to learn about sometime over the course of the year. I'll go first."
Carsyn took a look at each student, knowing she'd need to put faces to names in order to keep them all in order in her head and on her roster. "My name is Carsyn Brothers. I'm twenty and a former Ravenclaw." She informed in her nearly high-pitched voice. The range of her voice was almost perfect. "This year I would like to teach you guys about the many wonderful magical places and things around Hogwarts that were created back when either the school was created or over time. Now, it's someone elses turn." She looked about for a volunteer.
[[It's simple. Just give an introduction with the requirements above! Also, I'm terribly sorry about the lateness, read my LOA for the information, but this will be open until the end of the beginning of the third lesson!]]

Post by Maeve Campbell on Jan 25, 2009 9:45:32 GMT -5
It was a good day to be inside. She had gotten a little sunburnt the other day when she'd been running around outside. Maeve pulled her hair back off her neck and braided it haphazardly so it wouldn't irritate her delicate skin. She knew she should go to the hospital wing and see if they had something for it but that would take time out of her freetime.
Maeve had found the History of Magic classroom and was just standing outside it. When a young woman passed her to enter the classroom Maeve realized she was the instructor. She entered the class shortly after the teacher and took a seat toward the back of the room. History was not exactly her strong suit but there were some things she thought was interesting, like goblin wars and the witch burnings.
As the other students entered and took a seat, Maeve straightened up. There were words written on the board and she hadn't even noticed. Reading it quickly she almost groaned. What did she want to learn? Oh, duh. She remembered her thoughts as she had entered the classroom.
Maeve did her best to give the teacher her full attention but her sunburn was really bothering her. It was a few seconds after the teacher had stopped speaking. The silence was stretching. Maeve realized no one was going to volunteer to go first. Groaning silently she decided to go first like in most of her other classes.
Standing she shot a quick smile around the class, a bit lost in her own misery to notice if she knew anyone else, "I'm Maeve Campbell, Gryffindor, First year. I come from Ireland but this place isn't too bad." She grinned quickly to show it was just a joke. "I hope to be a good student and umm really don't want detention any time soon."
Again another quick grin. Maeve just wasn't sure what to say so she finished off her introduction with what she wanted to learn. "Oh yeah, I would like to learn about the witch burnings..." She wasn't sure what to add to that so she finally sat down.

Brook had been up for a while now and the time was going really slow, for a weird reason, but am guessing it is because she is sitting doing nothing when she should be doing something else to keep her mind busy or something y'know. OKay she checked her pocket watched to see the time, but she still had like another hour and a half until the lesson started .. So she stood up and walked away from the long blue sofa and walked up the stair case going to the girls dorms. She stoped when it came to her door, she took out a little key and stuck it in and twisted it about until it opened. Once open she walked in and sat on her bed next to her clths she had sorted out about half an hour ago when she first got up.
She walked about her room trying to think of something to do bust it wasn't for working. She walked away from her bed and left the room and walked into the bath room and jumped into a shower etc etc ... when she came out the shower she obv dried herself off from all the water that was on her. She put her cloths on and brushed her teeth by the time she was done all this it was like thirty five minutes later plus she put her make-up on and left her room and headed for the first lesson of this term.
She left the tower and walked about the grounds for about ten minutes just to kill some time so she wasn't that earily. Once the ten minutes was over she made her way to the castel and pulled open the heavy big double oak doors and walked in with a smile on her face seeing that she wasn't the only pupil up. She walked in right and shut the big door behind herself like she does everytime she has class or wants to wonder about the school. She made her way up to the stair cases and donw into the right corridor and went into the class room she was suppose to go in.
When she was in she pick a table in the middle of the class room and waited her turn on standing up and introducing herself, when teh time was right she stood up and smiled a little but she stumbled for words but she got enough out to say what she was gonna say. "Hi. My names Brook Cyrus, I am Sixteen years old, i am a Pure blood, i have a Twin but he's not in this class and his names Nick Cyrus.. well thats all i think i want to say the now." she said looking to the pupils in the class room and then looked to the professor and smiled and sat back down on her chair and waited for something else to happen. Brook was glad she wasn't the only student in here so far..

Mike walked in to the classroom a few minutes after Brook. He covered his mouth with a yawn as he glanced around for a seat. He noticed Audrey wasn't here yet, he was almost positive she was taking this class too. Looking around at the two other students in the room, he recognized one as Maeve, the other was a Ravenclaw girl who was a year younger than himself. Mike recalled meeting her only once before. Picking a seat in the back, a good few rows over from Maeve. He leaned his chair back, letting his bag fall to the floor beside his seat.
Crossing his arms, he stayed silent as Maeve and Brook took their turns for the introduction. Finally, figuring he'd get the torture over, he let the chair fall back forward, then he pushed himself up. "I'm Mike Blaze, sixth year Ravenclaw, Captain of the Ravenclaw Quidditch Team. I was born in Canbera, Austrailia." he said, as he mentioned Austrailia, he concentrated on his voice, noting the Austrailia accent. He knew it was there, others knew it was there, but sometimes it sounded like more an English rather than Austrailia. Glancing around the room, and occasionally back up to Carsyn while doing his introduction. Yes, this fact about him growing up in Austrailia was interesting, besides who else in Hogwarts came from Austrailia? As far as Mike knew only he and his cousin, and soon his younger sisters. "As for what I'd like to learn, I'd like to learn about what role werewolves and wolves have played in the lives of Wizards and such." he said simply, as if this was a normal question, which it was, but he wondered if this was something that would be a lesson sometime. "That's about it..." he added, lowering himself down in to his chair, resuming his previous crossing of the arms and chair leaned back.
