Moki was taking some actual work materials out of her bag as an older girl sat down near her next to Lucas. "Hey hot stuff." ...Wow. She really didn't waste any time, did she? The Slytherin girl bit her lip, wondering what was going on here. She sat for a moment in silence, then shook her head. This wasn't fair. She didn't have any claim on Lucas. He was just a friend, wasn't he? She decided she was just being silly because he happened to be the guy in here she had the most in common with. They hadn't talked all that much, but she just got along with him really well. Whoever this girl was, she decided she didn't have anything to fear from her. Really, what was she going to do, change his personality or something? She laughed at her silliness, almost all of the weird feeling gone.
Turning around, she observed the other girl. She was older, definitely, and... drop-dead gorgeous. Holy shit. Moki had to consciously work to keep the nonchalant look on her face, because she was really not expecting that. She smiled with a bit of an effort. "Hi," she said, so she wouldn't appear like a gaping, staring, moron of questionable sexuality. I mean, she was probably like, freaking the girl out. She turned around, mentally slapping herself for being such a damn idiot.

By no means was Katelynn late. Her conscience had just been gone for a short period of time and hadn't had time to reply to her classes. Anyway, that is not the point.
The blonde strolled swiftly into the Potions classroom, letting her blue eyes stray to the watch on her wrist as she did so. Thank God. Not late. The bell was going to ring in mere seconds, but fortunately, she wasn't late. Classes were not on the top of her priority list, but she wanted to do well in them. She had been in the dark about magic when she was younger, so even though most people took it for granted, she didn't. Magic was a privelege, not a gift. People had to earn it. Her gaze flashing around the room, Katelynn became under the distinct impression that the majority of these people probably didn't deserve that privelege.
Ahh, there was Mike, along with some girl whose name she thought to be something like Andrea or Audrey. She wasn't sure, and she didn't much care; she was a Gryffindor, and most of them were complete idiots anyway, so why bother? There was a Slytherin girl, who seemed to be fraternizing with a bunch of the idiots. Katelynn had seen her around and met her, and she hadn't seem to be one of those kinds of students. But oh well, first impressions tended to be misleading. Then there were a couple of other Ravenclaws, blahblahblah. The only House that seemed to be missing were the Hufflepuffs, and good thing. Even though it seemed impossible, they were larger idiots than the Gryffindors.
There were two Slytherins, however, both of the male species. She knew both of them, obviously, since they were in the same House. Justin was going to graduate soon, she believed -- he was a seventh year, right? Then, there was Lucas, who she had never really spoken to ... not that she hadn't wanted to. A couple years back, she had possessed a tiny, schoolgirl crush on him, but that had long since subsided. Something in her told her to plop her butt right next to him, but Katelynn refrained. The Ravenclaw seemed to be flirting shamelessly with him, anyway, so he would probably be busy.
Feeling a bit like a loser, Katelynn sat sort of away from everyone else. She wasn't very social, except with the friends she already possessed. Gaining new "friends" wasn't in her nature. She was content with the ones she had, and why fix it if it's not broken? The fifth year began to remove the necessary supplies from her bag as she waited for the professor to arrive. That was totally unprofessional, in her opinion.

If Richie were ever to get excited about something, it would be potions. Potions was just something slytherins took, it was like a right of passage. Slytherins and Potions just went together like expensive wine and cheese. Just because she was excited, didn't mean she would show up on time. That was just not how it worked with her. She walked into class nonchalantly. And of course the stupid love birds were there aswell. Damn, that is every class. She glared at them, mentally stabbing them. Why must they be everywhere she turns.
She let her gaze fall further back in the room, there were two other slytherins sitting in the back. Justin, the guy from charms and Lucas, the Brad Pitt of Slytherin. She had the biggest crush on him ever since she was a first year. But he didn't even know she was even alive. And a skanky ravenclaw who was in no way related to her was chatting him up. Tre yuck. Then once agian her gazed fell on her Savior. "Yes! Katelynn, here to save me once agian. she said as she slid into the seat next to her. "Looks like we got overrun with morons agian, and no nastiness about me not having a brain this time," she said smiling.

Eric Blaze walked in to the class, gazing around, he searched for someone he knew. The first person his eyes fell upon was Mike Blaze. Oh god, why did I have to sign up for this class? he thought to himself. Of all people, his own cousin had to be here. Eric looked to the girl next to Mike, a red headed Gryffindor girl. He surveyed her for a moment, this must be the 'ever so amazing' Audrey that Mike always talked about. Years ago, in Eric's first year, Mike always hung out with Audrey, they were best friends, Eric never met her, nor didn't want to. Now she was his girlfriend... he shook his head. Oh well, an alright girl falling for a complete loser, not anything new. The next two Eric spotted were Lucas and Justin, he knew them from his own house. He didn't talk to them much, but they seemed like alright guys. Then he spotted Katelynn and Richelle, he knew Katelynn well, though he didn't know Richelle well.
Walking past Mike's next, he caught his eye, "Mike" he said coldy, not so much as giving him a nod, just one word. He passed by Audrey, Kat, Moki, Hunter, and everyone else with no sign of recognition. Approaching Richelle and Katelynn, he overheard Richelle mention how they were overrun by morons. "I wouldn't exactly use morons, way more beyond that if you ask me." Eric said smirking, glancing over his shoulder at the Ravenclaws and Gryffindors in the back. "How's it goin Katelynn?" Eric asked taking a seat behind Katelynn.

Moki rolled her eyes at the somewhat belated entrance of the three Slytherins. She wasn't annoyed because they were late, it was simply the "holier-than-thou" demeanor they emanated as they clustered together in their little group. Damn, the way Katelynn looked at her, you woulda thought they didn't get along at all. Moki shook her head almost unnoticeably. She really liked most of the Slytherins she'd met, honestly, but if they were going to go so far as to alienate her because she liked people in other Houses, well, she wasn't an idiot. Kindness could only go so far, and she wasn't going to give up the friends she had for people like that. It was disconcerting and slightly saddening, because she really wished sometimes that she had a real good friend to chill with in the dorms or something. Not that she minded going other places, but you couldn't have sleepovers with friends that weren't in your House. Additionally, Slytherins tended to be a lot more chummy with each other than members of other Houses who had a wider array of friends. So she was kind of missing out on that. Whatever. She tried, which was pretty much all she could do. She didn't recognize the other two Slytherins sitting with Katelynn. They obviously weren't new or anything, she just didn't know them. If they hadn't been so busy looking superior, she probably would have said hi or something... but she just wasn't in the mood. Something about this class had really gotten to her.

Julia was so distracted by the god-like characteristics of the boy sitting beside her she almost didn't hear the other girl greeting her. "Ohh... Umm... Hi," she said snapping out of her trance like state. Was it legal to be that gorgeous. She shook her head trying to clear her muddled thoughts. That's when she realized the girl was staring at her. She smiled awkwardly, not knowing if the girl was asleep or just creepy. "I'm Julia," she said smiling at the very strange girl.

Moki felt like a complete moron. "I'm, um... apparently retarded," she said, hoping it was quiet enough that Julia hadn't heard her. "Moki," she returned, and really hoped the other girl was smart enough to figure out that was her name. She probably was. Moki vaguely remembered that she was in Ravenclaw. She tried to smile at the other girl, but gave up after a second, realizing she probably just looked pained. It wasn't that, honestly, just that she felt a little stupid. Why? Why did she feel so weird? She didn't know, but recognized somewhere deep-down that whatever the reason, she didn't need to be rude to Julia because of it. She didn't even know her, for goodness' sake. Since when was she the type to become emotional, anyway? Moki did her best to push all her feelings to the back of her mind as fast as possible. It worked somewhat efficiently - while they were still there (whatever they were exactly), they weren't going to bother her right here, right now. "I'm sorry," she said with an expression that actually looked somewhat happy this time. "I guess I just kind of spaced out for a sec, y'know?" She really hoped that explanation sufficed.

"I hear you," she said. "It was kind of weird getting used to living down here at first." Cady was dumbstruck for a moment, a look of horror on her face. Right. A Slytherin. This, well... errr... sort of disgusting place was her home. And she'd basically just insulted the home of her friend. The Gryffindor turned away abruptly and tugged on a lock of her hair with a sheepish laugh. "Right... right... I'm sure it's just me, you know!" Lordy lordy. Cady did feel bad about trashing the place that the Slytherins, and namely Moki, basically lived in, but she did sort of stand by what she said. She didn't think the place was even remotely habitable; she could certainly never get used to living down here. Not that she would let her friend know that... or any other Slytherin, for that matter. But she felt like an idiot for her slip-up.
Her attention directed away from Moki, she noticed Hunter looking at her a little strangely. Before she could stop herself, she smiled at him. An affectionate, genuine smile. And then once she realized what she was doing, she quickly blushed and looked away. Ignore him, ignore him, she told herself. She was really getting in way too deep. Hunter was supposed to be nothing to her. No more than someone to flirt and joke around with... maybe reap some benefits here and there. But there she was, smiling at him and blushing like a crazy little schoolgirl with a crush. Y'know, one of those schoolgirls who spends the entire class writing her and her crush's initials together, surrounded by hearts. Ohhhh yeah. This was bad, because he certainly wanted nothing more to do with her...
Looking anywhere but Hunter, Cady noticed some way-too-pompous Slytherins entering and finding their seats among the students. Oh, lord. Why did these types always adore potions? She really hoped their professor wasn't the type to fawn all over this breed of losers... speaking of which, where was the professor?

Post by Abella Marie Byrne-Moreaux on Feb 17, 2009 21:38:47 GMT -5
Professor Byrne-Moreaux listened to everything that was happening in her classroom. It was a good excersize. She now knew how everyone was going to interact, for the most part. These kids could go from being best friends to worst enemies in an hour, but that was not her problem. Her problem was assesing the situation and deciding where to seat everyone before the next class. Making up her mind to reveal that she really had been in class the whole time, Abella stood up and stepped into the very outer rim of the candlelight with a Click-click of her sensible heels.
"Good afternoon ladies and gentleman." the woman said, just loud enough to be heard over the multiple conversations. "My name is Abella Byrne-Moreaux. You will call me Professor Byrne-Moreaux or ma'am. Anything else will earn your house a demerit of five points. Got it?" Abella flashed them her brilliant, if fake, smile. "Now, I know that each of you has had a day full of introductions, so why don't you go ahead and recite what should be memorized by now, but just in case you forgot: Name, house, year, and a few interesting facts about yourself." As she finished her own type of introduction, she walked around a big, stone desk and sat behind it, waiting for her first volunteer. "Oh, and if no one volunteers I will start picking people at random."

With a shrug, Moki threw a hand in the air. She wasn't worried about appearing like a teacher's pet. She honestly doubted her ability to pronounce the professor's name correctly, also, so she decided volunteering might save her butt in the circumstance that she was to forget and call her wrong by accident. She had never been good with names in general, but long names were death.
Grinning at the rest of the room, she waved cheekily. "I'm Moki. I'm a fourth-year Slytherin. Interesting facts? Mmm... I like unicorns, I speak two languages, and..." she paused a moment, tapping the side of her face in thought. Snapping her fingers, she added, "I have two webbed toes!" That wasn't interesting, you idiot! Moki chided herself. That was just weird. Oh well. She wasn't shy. She smiled brightly, flashing her small white teeth at her classmates. She imagined they were probably pretty bemused by her antics. The thought brought her a warm and fuzzy feeling. Some girls strove to be sexy or hot, but Moki took the cake in cute. She knew sexy and desirable always trumped cute, but there was something fulfilling about bringing a type of smile to the faces of others that couldn't be achieved with seduction. She might never be class beauty, but she'd settle for being the kind of person people wanted to squeeze.

Mike who sat with his arms crossed, had finally half asleep while waiting for Professor Moreaux to begin, when she finally spoke, he jerked awake, nearly tipping his chair sideways. He regained his balance, and looked around hoping no one noticed, especially not Audrey who he would've made himself look like an idiot in front of, though he had done it before and she still loved him, so it didn't exactly matter. Professor Moreaux told the class to do exactly what most of the other teachers instructed them to.
Once Moki finished and took a seat, Mike figured he might as well get the torture over. Glancing at Audrey, he pushed himself up, standing straight. "I'm Mike Blaze, sixth year Ravenclaw. I'm Captain of the Ravenclaw Quidditch Team, I have the most amazing, beautiful girlfriend ever," he said emphasizing the word most, and nodding towards Audrey who sat at his side. "I also don't mind saying, there are people in here, who I absolutely hate..." Mike said, his eyes flashing towards Lucas and then of course to his own cousin, Eric. He figured he'd get this little fact out of the way. if anyone in the class, mainly the Slytherin Guys wanted to screw with him, he wasn't gonna put up with their crap. Shrugging he said, "That's about it." and lowered in to his seat once again, crossing his arms at his chest.

When Moki was speaking Maeve couldn't help but let a little giggle escape. That was priceless. Smiling in a friendly manner at Moki and Mike, she decided she would take her turn as well.
When Maeve stood she was still short and compared to the older students was hardly visible. Her bright hair made up for her short stature though. It's coppery brightness shone through the dimness of the Potions dungeon.
"Ma'am," Maeve started with that because she doubted her tongue would make it around the lady's name. "My name is Maeve Campbell. I'm a first year Gryffindor. I'm from Ireland, I'm Muggleborn, and I LOVE Quidditch!" All this had tumbled out of her mouth at top speed but thankfully her thick brogue had not appeared this time. Flashing a saucy grin around, she took a seat.

"I have the most amazing, beautiful girlfriend ever,"
Audrey's face flushed a bright shade of pink as Mike mentioned her in his introduction. She listened to the other two introductions before she decided that she would stand and say her bit. Waiting just a second after the little first year got done, making sure no one else was going to jump up and start in, she stood. "Professor Byrne-Moreaux. My name is Audrey Hitchcock. I'm a sixth year Gryffindor." Audrey put her hand on top of Mike's head. "Mike is my boyfriend, but my best friend is a boy, Hunter. I don't really get along with girls so well. They're too much drama. Other than that..." Audrey paused to think of another interesting thing to say. May as well go along with what she'd been saying all day. Besides, that's what Professor Whoseherwhatsit told them to do. "I don't really like Quidditch. It's alright to watch, but I fail at playing it." Audrey took her seat, crossing her legs under the table. At least that was over.

Alice was ever so late for her first Potions lesson this term. She hadn`t been well recently due to her recent piercing a couple a weeks ago. But thank goodness she didn`t get her piercing during term... it would`ve spoiled her education.
She put on her robes as usual and made her way to the Dungeons.. She heard alot noise and sighed... Though late as she was, she didn`t want to keep the class waiting on her behalf and judt scrolled to her seat... Alice got kind of confused. The students were spread out everywhere, she forgot where her seat was... Nevertheless, she just made her way towards the back corner and started concentrating.
Hmm.. Alice would rather call the professor, Professor Byrne-Moreaux. Ma'am wasn`t quite her thing supposingly. She couldn`t even say the damn word properly but calling her Professor Byrne-Moreaux was cool.. though she had to get her name right because she thought that would be nice rather than just calling her professor.. ^__^
Ooohh. Introduction time. Introduction time were always interesing to be honest. You can find out basic infortmation about your fellow peers without having to awkwardly start a random conversation. Alice started a random conversation like that and it just made things awkward... as always o.O But this was in third year, she never started conversations like that again.. people just thought she was weird. It was Alice`s personality that she thought made them feel ..weird around her.
Most of the people started introducing themselves. After Audrey, Alice quickly got up just incase someone else did, she just wanted to get this over with. Walking up to the front, she smiled at the professor and then started..
''Hey'', she paused for a quick second and then continued on, ''I`m Alice Maddison, you can call me Aly if you want'', she said grinning. ''I`m a fifth year Ravenclaw.. I`m from West London, I`m a totally bubbley person and i almost love everything.. i`d probably be the most randomest person you`ve met but hey, my personality and looks says it all!'',
After giving a quick introduction, Alice made her way back towards her sear... hopefully that went well.. She had no idea what else to say, she just said whatever came out of her head that seemed.. sensible enough =)

George had been sat quite happily sat quietly but the professor soon walked in and told the class that they needed to introduce themselves. George had never been too great with introductions but he had to do it for class so he’d just have to grit his teeth and bare it. While waiting for his turn George listened to the other students while attempting to think of what he was going to say. It wasn’t exactly hard so he had no idea why he struggled quite so much.
When it was his turn George stood up and began his introduction ”My name is George, George Knox and a Fifth Year Ravenclaw” George didn’t really think that there was really anything interesting about himself so he just spoke about the first things that came into his mind. ”There isn’t really much interesting to say about me other than I have an interest in magical creatures and I enjoy messing around and hanging out with friends”
Neither fact was that interesting but it would have to do because that was all George could currently think of. He was quite an easy person to please it wasn’t like he had plenty of hobbies to keep him busy. A comfortable bed where he could sleep all day and some close friends was all he needed, a bit sad really. As time went on and George got older his priorities would probably change to things that were more important.
