Annoyance built up inside Katarina. It was her understanding that Audrey, Mike, and herself were all going to walk to Potions together. Did they wait on her? No. It didn't help the situation to see her usual seat next to Audrey taken by both Hunter and Mike. Oh okay... I see how it is... She glanced around the room at the other students. Who to sit beside? Who to sit beside? Justin? Eh.. I'd never hear the end of it...Who's the new guy? Her gray orbs stopped on Lucas for just a moment and took him in. Eh... no matter. I'm going to sit next to this girl! She seems nice! she quickly took a seat next to Moki and brushed a dark brown curl behind her shoulder before smiling and adding a polite "My name's Kat. Who are you?" to Moki

Audrey laughed at Mike's comment about Lucas. "I think you're right." she said, not bothering to keep her tones hushed. It wasn't until she saw Kat walked in, clearly irritated, that she remembered that they were supposed to walk to class together. "Hey Kat," she said, trying to get her attention. "I'm sorry I didn't wait for you. I was running late and figured that you would have already headed this way." Of course it was a lie, but she couldn't just say she'd forgotten. That would have just made things a lot worse. Then again, maybe she shouldn't have said anything. Kat did go sit beside Moki instead of the seat that was open right in front of Audrey. "You still beat the teacher, though." She threw in a smile for good measure. The class was filling up, but she was sure that there were more people than this signed up for potions. Turning to Mike, she asked, "Do you think this is everybody?"

Little Maeve had been paying attention without paying attention. She had probably turned six different shades of red by now and was wishing she had sat somewhere else. Preferably the North Pole. There was definite tension in the room. Wondering what she could do she tried scribbling and doodling things on a notebook in front of her. She had finally found her ink bottle but by the time she had Moki's attention had been taken into the land of boys.
Maeve wrinkled her nose. She knew was weird for a girl but she just wasn't interested in boys yet. Sure, she could tell when they were cute but other than that she thought they were mostly pests. Humming an old tune from the Weird Sisters, Maeve continued to doodle and try to ignore the hubbub going on around her.

Moki was having a thoroughly amusing time. Audrey was completely right about one thing - she was only a fourth-year, and as such was looking for little more than a bit of fun. It didn't mean something couldn't happen eventually, just that if any guy thought she was gonna be an easy score, well, they had a lot to learn about Moki Kagawa. She had quite a bit of pride about her - other than her love of breaking the rules, it was probably the reason she'd been put in Slytherin in the first place. She was currently smiling happily at the guys in the room, having unwittingly earned a bit more attention than she had bargained for. She briefly wondered why this was, and chalked it up to good deodorant, something she was pretty sure had nothing to do with anything, but sounded like it made sense.
"Hey, Lucas!" she said brightly as he came and sat by her. She, too, had noticed the look on his face when he'd seen her none-too-discreetly flirting with Hunter. Sheesh, did everyone know this kid's reputation? Oh well. She didn't exactly care about that sort of thing. Everyone got an equal chance in her book, until they did something to break her trust. She did know, though, that some Slytherins were still against inter-House... well, anything. Unless it involved pantsing somebody in Hufflepuff or hexing a Ravenclaw or something. That was probably alright. Moki wondered if Lucas felt that way. It seemed like he did, but it didn't bother her. Her conscience panged. Should it bother her? It really wasn't her problem, was it? Lucas was her friend, and so was Maeve, who was a Gryffindor... hell, she could probably be friends with the whole damn class if they wanted to give it a shot. However he felt, she wasn't going to hold it against him.
Her attention was brought back to the nice safe land of women as a pretty older girl sat down on her other side. "My name's Kat. Who are you?" Moki was momentarily envious of her, but she seemed nice, so there was no need to be intimidated. "Hi, Kat!" she said with a smile. "I'm Moki. You're friends with Audrey, I'm guessing?" she added, noticing the interaction between the two. She suddenly realized she was severely neglecting her younger friend and felt a pang of guilt. Poor Maeve! Moki had probably made herself look like the poster girl for promiscuity in front of the first-year. She gave the girl an apologetic smile, and said to Kat, "Oh, this is my friend Maeve, by the way."

Choosing to ignore Audrey's obvious lie, she focused all of her attention towards Moki. "I'm Moki. You're friends with Audrey, I'm guessing?"
"Not as of right now..." She glanced back to Audrey, Hunter, and Mike sitting in the group that she would typically be apart of. "Friends don't let friends walk alone." She added the last part just loud enough so that the three of them would be certain to hear it.
Not that she would own up to it, but placing herself away from her typical clique made Katarina a bit uncomfortable. Almost as if she were a first year again. "Oh, this is my friend Maeve, by the way."
She glanced at the first-year girl. Gryffindor. Slytherin and Gryfinndor, friends? Is this heresay?" a small smile crept upon her pink lips. "Tis a pleasure Maeve."

Audrey rolled her eyes. "Come on, Kat. I was late. I forgot. I'm sorry." This was not like Kat at all. She wasn't sure where this suddenly dramatic side was coming from. Had Kat been secretly hanging out with Riley? Last time she checked, Audrey still had the 'dramatic' tag beside her duties in the friendship registery. The redhead looked to Mike and Hunter for support. Neither of them had walked with Kat either! "Don't be stupid, Kat. It was one walk by yourself. And it's not like we all abandoned you and walked together. We all walked to class separately." Ugh. Whatever. If Kat wanted to overdramatize the situation, Audrey would let her.

This room was overflowing with awkward tensions. Between Hunter and Lucas, between Katarina and her friends, even Moki seemed a bit... shall we say intemidated by Kat's abrupt introduction. Katarina Devanport. He couldn't take his eyes off of her for some reason. It was almost as if her dark, loose curls and fair skin hypnotised him. Get ahold of yourself man! She's not your type! he glanced back at Hunter, Mike, and Audrey. Then again... perhaps since she's on the outs with her friends, I can make her my type... Hm... A second opinion is needed"
Quickly he dipped his quil into the ink and wrote in his sketchy writing:
What do you think of Katarina Devanport?
He lighty blew on the ink to make certain it was dry, before folding the paper into quarters and leaning back and placing it on Lucas' desk. A little childish, yes, he would admit. But he was curious what other guys thought of her. Before this week, he hadn't even known she existed.

Mike who considered Kat a good friend, even though there might be some hard feelings towards him from her, with him being Audrey's boyfriend now. He knew there was not so much trust, but he'd hate to lose Kat as a friend over this stupid little thing, and even more he'd hate to see Kat and Audrey's friendship end. "Audrey's right, Kat. We didn't walk together. I came here from the Common Room, third person to get here, Audrey came a little after me. It's not anyone's fault. Don't be mad, Kat." Mike said after Audrey finished, he didn't know if his words would affect Kat at all, but at least he tried.

Cady hurried her way down into the dungeons, frowning slightly as she closed her Gryffindor robes tighter around her body. Man, why did the dungeons have to get so fricken drafty? Didn't they have heat or something down here? Cady wasn't so great with the cold, and she found herself almost wanting to get into class and start brewing some potions. At least she'd have a fire and a hot cauldron to stand by.
The fourth year found her classroom and entered quietly, choosing a seat towards the back and grimacing with some disgust. God, she'd really forgotten how gross the dungeons were. Damp, musty, cold, dark, miserable... she really hoped this class wouldn't be just as dreary.
Cady kept her bag close to her since she had her parchment, ink, and quills nestled inside, and she glanced about the room with some apprehension. She hadn't noticed the professor when she came in, and the room for the most part seemed to be sort of quiet, minus some chatter here and there. The atmosphere was, well... depressing, to say the least.
"Hi Moki," Cady said, leaning over to wave enthusiastically at the Slytherin she recognized. She shivered a little. "The dungeons sort of creep me out. I wish we could just start class already... you know, the sooner we get out of here and all." She let her gaze wander and had to hide her surprise when she saw Hunter sitting not too far from her friend. "Hunter," she said nodding and smiling a small smile before redirecting her gaze.

Hunter smiled at Moki pleasantly. So she'd heard of him, then. Well, at least the complete innocent act wouldn't be necessary. "You know, you really shouldn't listen to everything you hear in these hallways." Of course, Hunter was fairly sure that everything Moki had heard in the halls was true, there wasn't any reason to confirm these rumors just yet.
The boy was still looking at Moki when the two Slytherins walked in. Justin McCarter again. Ugh. He's everywhere this year. The other Slytherin boy was the more interesting character. It didn't escape his attention that Lucas was eyeing him. Fine. If he wanted to learn something, he was more than welcome to watch Hunter play the field.
Hunter looked at Audrey when Kat blamed them for her walk alone down to the dungeons, but he decided to not care. That wasn't really his place. If Kat wanted to be mad, then she could be mad. As his grandpa always told him, she could get glad in same pants she got mad in. If Hunter just so happened to be in those pants as well....Wait...what? Ugh, no. It's Kat! And then Cady walked in.
"Hunter," she said nodding and smiling a small smile before redirecting her gaze.
His jaw dropped a bit. "H-hey Cady." Hunter tried to put up a cool front, but his thoughts were tossed askew by her sudden appearance. Where was the teacher anyway? Wasn't class supposed to haave started like ten minutes ago? Cady looked gorgeous in her robes. He was pretty sure that a girl shouldn't look just as good in a school uniform as she had a couple of days ago when she...went for a swim in the lake with him.

Maeve looked up when Moki spoke and again her pale skin betrayed her. Still blushing furiously she acted as though nothing were wrong. Friends? I guess they weer. Maeve's flush finally faded and she smiled at the girl who Moki had just introduced her to. Smiling she nodded at the new girl.
"Kat, right? Nice to meet you."
She didn't resume doodling since fo rth eitme being the tension had started to fade. the Potions classroom was bustling with absolutely everything but a teacher. this made for some interesting conversations occurring. Which is what had caused Maeve's discomfort and furious blushes to begin with.
Another Gryffindor girl greeted Moki. Moki must be pretty popular, Maeve thought. She was awfully lucky to have had her come to her rescue the other day. Maeve slouched in her seat. Not really comfortable enough to join in the conversation. Most of it was way over a first year's head anyways. She just figured she would sit and watch. At least now she didn't feel like the Invisible Girl anymore. That helped quite a bit.

It seemed that George was now pretty much the only student not talking to anyone. George wasn’t shy or anti social but he felt like he didn’t have the right to interfere in people’s conversations. It would have been nice but they all seemed quite complicated so perhaps it was better that he stayed out of them. He had friends in the classroom but they seemed occupied as George heard snippets of the many conversations going on. Notice Maeve sat by herself after finishing her conversation George approached her. Although she was a couple of years younger than George and he had only met her briefly she seemed like a nice girl. ”Hey Maeve” He said perching down one of the desks next to hers. If she wanted to sit quietly by herself then George would quite willingly mosey on back to his seat.

"You know, you really shouldn't listen to everything you hear in these hallways."
Moki laughed. "I know," she said. "So I discounted that rumor that you tweeze your eyebrows."
"Not as of right now." Moki bit her lip and glanced probably too noticeably at Audrey, who was looking a little annoyed. She figured Audrey had most likely been meant to hear it, and chose not to involve herself with their conflict, deciding instead to act as though she didn't notice the tension between the two. "Aw, that's too bad," she said honestly. She smiled in amusement at the look on Kat's face as she mentioned her friendship with Maeve. Moki knew all too well the rivalries between Houses - the exact reason Lucas was so eager to jump into the middle of flirty time with Hunter. The truth was, she honestly didn't care. Unless somebody gave her a real reason not to like them, she wasn't going to pass up friends.
As Mike and Audrey tried to convince Kat not to hold a grudge, Cady walked in. Sitting down near the back of the classroom, she greeted Moki, who returned it with a wave. "Hi, Cady!" she said animatedly. She liked the fellow fourth-year. She'd learned how to sort-of skip rocks from her. That kind of thing went a long way with Moki. Having a plethora of useless skills was something she valued probably disproportionately. "The dungeons sort of creep me out. I wish we could just start class already... you know, the sooner we get out of here and all." Moki laughed at her comment. "I hear you," she said. "It was kind of weird getting used to living down here at first." She figured Cady either didn't know or had forgotten that the Slytherin common rooms were down here. Not that that fact would have made it any less creepy to Cady, but Moki couldn't exactly agree with her, since it no longer bothered her. Still, she sympathized with the Gryffindor. These places really could be kind of dark and shadowy.
She looked around the room, curious to see if any more events had transpired. There was so much stuff going on in here right now it was like a soap opera writer had scripted the emotions in the potions classroom. She mentally thanked her lucky stars that there was no good reason she should be on the bad end of anything that was threatening to happen. It seemed like half the people in this room had a beef with at least one other person. Moki noticed the look on Hunter's face as he noticed Cady. He seemed to have been in the middle of a mental showdown with Lucas - something that was providing her with fathoms of amusement - but as Cady greeted him, his whole "cool guy" thing went down the toilet. Moki watched him, wide-eyed. There was no denying he had some sort of feelings for Cady, and she doubted they were of the same sort he had for her and half the student body of Hogwarts. No, this looked very different. Very different indeed. Things around here were certainly heating up. Moki barely dared to blink lest she miss something. She noticed Maeve wasn't doodling anymore and seemed a little more comfortable. That was good, at least. There was no need to alienate a new friend because she'd been unable to control her urge to join in the drama-fest. She smiled as George, whom she had met the other day at the lake, came in and sat on the other side of Maeve. She nodded at him in acknowledgement, as he seemed to know the first-year and probably wanted to talk to her or something.

blah blah blah. Why did she sign up for this class? Who Knows. She would probably make something blow up with her luck. Julia stepped into the classroom to find the entire class was already there. Was she late? Whatever. She could care less. She looked around searching for a seat. It looked like they whole gang was there. Hunter, Audrey, Mike, but Kat was conspicously missing from their little posse. She was sitting by a super cute asian girl. Mmmmmhh. Everything was changing. She could sit in front of Audrey... mmmhhh... awkward much. Or next to Mike, But she was trying to avoid him soo that was a no go. She decided she would mix it up and sit next to a hot dark-haired slytherin. which really wasn't mixing it up for her, buy hey, old habits die hard.
She gave Hunter a smile and wink as she passed him, and gave both Mike and Audrey a polite smile. She had done enough damage lately. "Hey hot stuff," she said as she slid into the seat next to guy she believed was named Lucas. it was either that or Mucas. She rummaged through her bag and brought out some parchment and a quill, she was ready for some safety procedures so she wouldn't blow her face off.

Mike's attention went to Julia as she walked in, Mike had noticed she had been distant with him lately. He figured it was for the best right now with everything that had happened. He returned her smile with a nod, his eyes following her, he figured she wouldn't be sitting near him. Once she sat down, Mike's insides turned cold. She sat right near Lucas, the same person he despised most in the class.
Mike shook his head lightly, watching Julia. Turning his eyes on Lucas for a minute, that good ol' stare coming back to him. Whatever, Mike thought to himself, he liked Julia, but she could sit next to whoever she wanted even if it meant the person he despised the most. Mike crossed his arms, turning his attention back to what was going on behind him, with everyone else sitting near him. He figured it would be best not to say a word about Julia sitting near Lucas and what he thought of it to anyone.
