"Suit yourself, Mike," Cady said with a grin, hands planted on her hips. She turned back to Moki whom was busily describing a tale of a terrible brother. "Wow," she commented when she'd finished. "That is pretty mean. But not out of the ordinary, if any of my experiences with my brothers can be called normal. I'm the youngest, see, and the only girl. Me and three older boys in pretty cramped quarters. Let's just say it's not the quietest house on the block." She laughed to herself before finding another rock and throwing it across the lake with practiced ease, watching it skip away from her, leaving little splashes as it went.
"And I'm sure you could get the hang of stone-skipping if you kept doing it obsessively, like me. All I have to do is think of beating my brothers at it and it's enough to have me chucking stones for hours. It took me forever to even get it to skip once." Cady gestured to a flat stone with rounded edges sitting by Moki's foot. "That one's a good one, if you wanna try again. And yes, I'm a fourth year, or at least I'm going into my fourth year this term. What classes are you taking? Maybe we'll be in some together."

Moki laughed at Cady's statement. "I believe that," she said. "Aw, but I bet they're fun even though they can be mean. I'm an only child, so I used to get insanely bored hanging around the house. So I just started making my own fun, but my parents weren't always into that," she said, accidentally dropping her skipping rock and narrowly missing her own foot. "I mean, at first they were okay with it, but after the firework incident..." Moki took the rock Cady offered her and managed to skip it across the lake. "Oh yay!" she clapped at her achievement. "Oh, I'm taking um... Potions, Ancient Runes and Charms this term," she informed the other girl. "You in any of those?"

Cady smiled and shrugged modestly. "Yeah, I guess it can be fun sometimes. But not without it's annoying-ness, of course. There is a price to pay in the form of privacy, alone time, personal space, yada yada..." She snorted as Moki tried to throw another stone only to nearly drop it on her foot. The next time she picked it up, though, she threw it well, and it skipped away.
"Good job!" she cheered, clapping along with her. "And... er... what did you say about a firework incident?" But Cady let it go when Moki continued on, talking about what classes she was in for the term.
"Potions and Charms," the Gryffindor said with a nod. "I signed up for those too. No Ancient Runes though. My third class is Flying."

"Oh!" said Moki, realizing she had been asked a question and rambled right on by it. "Um, okay, so anyway I was really bored and we had all these fireworks that my parents brought back from a trip, right? And so down the street from me there was a construction site with one of those porta pots. Well, I'd always wondered about those things - where does it all GO, y'know? I mean, porta pots are SMALL but it seems like they're bottomless! So I... well, I wondered what would happen if I lit fireworks inside of one. I thought it'd just like... jump around a bit and make a lot of noise, but when I tried it, the whole damn thing blew. And I just ran away, but my stupid snoopy neighbor saw me with the fireworks and told the cops I did it. And I got in a LOT of trouble with my parents. But it wasn't my fault! I mean, really! Why'd they leave it unlocked if they didn't want people inside?"
She listened to Cady's list of classes. "Oh hey, that's cool! Now I know two people in those 2 classes! The other one's Rita Hall, do you know her?"
OOC: That story's true... only my brothers did it with a bunch of other kids and the other kids blamed just them 'cause they were the ones that brought the fireworks. And so no one but them got in trouble, it was so unfair.
