[Alright, I know I'm a little late - I had a bit of situation on my end. To make it up, we'll go with something simple. Participate in this RP and you will earn yourself minimum of two points each. It's the beginning of a school year, you're welcome to traumatize the professor.]
Late, late, late. Aaric ran from his quarters buttoning his shirt and straightening his shoes as he go. Midnight snacks was not a good idea, especially the night before the start of the school term. What could make it worse is the fact that he shouldn't be late because he was due to teach the lesson. That was just fantastic. Aaric raced as fast as he could, what a first impression he would make, but that was the least of his worries, there were more to come and he was trying not to think about it. "SorryI'm late." He said, trying to sound casual and luck must be on his side as he sounded convincing enough in his own ears. "Not a best way to start the year, aye?" He added, laughing slightly, trying to clear the mood as some student looked shocked the moment he rushed into the classroom. "Right..." Aaric said, clapping his hands together, realizing that it had started to sweat.
"I'm Professor McLurcan," he started and pause for a brief period before adding, "I will be teaching obviously defense against the dark arts this year." He looked around at the faces in the room, it was awkward, he had never really stood in front of a crowd delivering any sort of speech before. Why on earth had he decided to teach was beyond his own understanding. "Alright, since it's a little too early in the school year, I think putting you straight to work is a little too early so..." Aaric began and once again he stopped, but his pause was slightly longer as he tried to make sense of what he was trying to say himself. "I want you to get up, introduce yourself and tell me a little bit about yourself." He said at the end.

Defense Against the Dark Arts. Maeve tried it again, Defense Against the Dark Arts. No matter how she said it, it still sent a shiver down her spine. Everyone knew about Voldemort and Harry Potter. Parents told their children stories and when you were naughty it was Voldemort who would come and get you. Or if you were really bad you'd better watch out or you'd be sorted into Slytherin like Voldemort.
Maeve had always scoffed at the stories but when the lights went out after her mum and dad tucked her in it was a little different. Isn't it always when the lights go out? Just because Voldemort was gone didn't mean someone just like him might not be just aorund the corner. He may have been a once in a lifetime threat, but when it comes down to it wasn't he just like us once. That is what truly frightened Maeve. That a normal little boy turned into the most evil and powerful Dark Wizard of all time.
Shaking her coppery curls she tried to shake off the sudden thoughtfulness that had overtaken her natural sunny disposition. Forcing a grin she walked into the classroom. Now this was historical! The same classroom that Harry Potter had learned in! Of course he'd been in the others but THIS was the class that history was about. Maeve had to keep her jaw from dropping too far. Then again you would figure most first years would be excited to go to the same school Harry Potter had gone to.
Her smile came more natural now as she realized the teacher wasn't there yet. Even better than learning DADA was not having class at all! Yes! Dang it! The teacher came into class running a bit late and looking a little haphazardly dressed. Maeve raised her eyebrows as he made his excuses and went to the front of the room.
Ugh introductions! She wasn't shy though so it didn't bother her to go first. Standing a little cockily, she spoek out loud, the only sign of her nervousness was the thickening of her brogue. "My name is Maeve Campbell. I'm from Ireland, I'm Muggleborn and ummm love Quidditch! Oh yeah, and I was on time for class today" She grinned cheekily at the professor and collapsed back into her seat. She wasn't sure what else to say about herself. True she'd been a bit cheeky to the Prof but he seemed an all right guy so maybe she wouldn't get detention the first day.
((no worries about being late...I don't think you're late at all. >_< and nooo Im not sucking up to the Prof hehehe ))

Audrey Hitchcock walked into the DADA classroom and looked around. This was her one class without Mike. And apparently without anyone else either. she thought. The room was completely empty; not even the teacher was in the class yet. Audrey took the time to try out a couple of different seats, but eventually settled on the one she sat in last term: second row from the far wall, second chair from the back. Of corse, Hunter would probably be along in a bit and monopolize that seat without question.
The redhead watched as the different students fiiled in, also keeping an eye on the clock. Where is the professor? No sooner had she thought the words when Professor McLurcan came skidding through the door, looking a bit sloppy.
"I want you to get up, introduce yourself and tell me a little bit about yourself."
"Oh jeez..." the girl mumbled under her breath. She listened inattentively as the little girl rambled in a thick accent. When she was done, Audrey peered about the classroom waiting for someone else to volunteer their voice. No one did. Reluctantly, Audrey stood.
"My name is Audrey Hitchcock. I'm a sixth year Gryffindor. I grew up just outside of our beloved Hogsmead, where my mum owns a bakery. I don't really like Quidditch, even though my boy friend is the captain of the Ravenclaw team. Oh, and I was sitting in this class alone for a good ten minutes waiting on you, Professor McLurcan." She sat down and smiled politely at the professor. Maybe, since it was the first day, she wouldn't even get any points taken away from Gryffindor.

Hunter walked into the classroom and immediately saw Audrey was the only person in the room. He walked over and took a seat, well, he was sitting on the desk part and his feet were in the chair part. "There's a first. I beat the teacher to class. Who is this guy anyway?"
Soon, the other students started filing in, and Hunter had to take his seat behind Audrey. He stifled a chuckle as the professor walked in looking like he'd just had an interesting romp in the hay. The little girl from Flying was apparently everywhere, because all of a sudden she was standing up telling everyone about herself. Then Audj did the same. She included Mike in her self-introduction? Hunter rolled his eyes and then stood to take his turn.
"My name is Hunter. I like girls. A lot. I'm a seventh year. I'm a Gryffindor. Oh...and I like to fly. So, therefore, I'm quite fond of Quidditch." Hunter ran through everything in his head, trying to decide if he wanted to add anything else. "Yeah...that's about it." Hunter sat back down and leaned forward to Audrey. "Mike's part of your introduction now? What, are you married?" he whispered.

Julia walked into the classroom and was delighted to see that the professor was incredibly hot. Like model hot. This class was going to be awesome. The next thing she noticed was Mike wasn't in this class, but Audrey was. A little less awesome, but the hotness of the Gryffindor behind her certainly made up for it. She walked over and sat beside Audrey, this gave her a great view of the professor and but not of the hot mystery guy. But she didn't know anyone else there and it would be awkward to sit alone. "Hey Audrey," she said as she sat down.
She listened semi-intently to the introductions. But not really to the loquacious Irish girl. She only cared what Audrey and the hot guy said. She was doing research. Let's summarize. Audrey is basically the perfect girl for Mike, and the hot guy is named Hunter and likes girls. Good to know. She happened to like hot guys.
"I'm Julia. I like guys a lot," she said pausing slightly to turn and give a charming smile to Hunter, then continued, "I am a fifth year Ravenclaw. I like music and having a good time. I grew up in London with my dad." She smiled at the professor. Oh yeah, she'd be doing extra credit in no time. Then she sat down and continued to ogle him from her seat. "How is a girl suppose to learn when the professor looks like that," she whispered to Audrey.

Audrey rolled her eyes at Hunter, which wasn't really out of the ordinary. "His name is Aaric McLurcan. He's new, so shut up." Audrey gave Hunter her very best mean face, which was difficult when looking at him, mainly because he was like her brother minus all the fighting. And then Julia walked in. "Shiiii..." she swore under her breath. To Hunter, she whispered, "That's the girl I was telling you about. The one who likes Mike?"
She walked over and sat beside Audrey, "Hey Audrey," she said as she sat down.
The redhead smiled as politely as she could manage and was surprised at her ability to make it look almost sincere. "Hey."
"Mike's part of your introduction now? What, are you married?"
Audrey rolled her eyes again and rotated her upper body to look him in the eye. "Would it matter if we were? Because, I know you hate committment, but I happen to be quite fond of it. And if you really want to know, yeah. That is kind of the plan as of now. I love him. He loves me. Why shouldn't we get married after school? Just because I don't want to be single and 'play the field' for the rest of my life like you..." she paused to take a breath and found her head was fairly airy due to the lack of oxygen. "Keep your comments on my se...love life to yourself. I don't torment you over your lack of morality." She turned back around and faced the front of the room while Julia spoke. The girl's comment about liking boys did not escape her notice. Then a plan started to develop in her mind. Hunter liked girls, a lot. Julia liked guy, a lot. Hmmm...
"How is a girl suppose to learn when the professor looks like that," she whispered to Audrey.
Audrey smiled. "Usually I would say with your eyes closed, but that might be a little difficult in this class." The girl took her currently under developed plan and decided to try to initiate a little action. "Julia, I don't know if you've heard of him, but this is my friend Hunter. He's a super player and will try anything to get in your pants. Hunter, this is Julia. I met her through Mike." She didn't really say much on Julia's character because, as of yet, she didn't know too much about it. However, she was sure that Hunter would be all too eager to find out everything there was to know about every single inch of Julia.

She laughed at her comment. She was pretty and funny. Interesting. "Guess I'll just have to deal... This year is going to be interesting," she said frowning. "Hopefully I don't flunk this class. Or maybe I can find a way to get an A" She smiled slyly. She wondered if he would be like that Thomas professor guy. Hopefully not. Julia stretched her legs out under the desk and yawned. "Well then we have something in common, Hunter. Maybe we could get together and discuss our common interests after class," she said grinning. This was exactly the kind of guy she needed to help her swipe her V card. No meaning behind it, no commitment, and most importantly he was hot. She was tired of being pure. It was boring, and so not like her. And maybe this would make Audrey a little less jealous. Of what? Who knows, everyone knows she hates commitment. And Mike loves her.

The blonde boy looked intently at the girl who had just sat beside Audrey. "This is the girl who tried to hook up with Mike, eh?" he whispered back to the redhead. "I'm surprised that he was abled to hold off." The girl was genuinely gorgeous. If she asked him to do anything with her, he would definitely not turn her down. "She's a major hottie." Hunter added. He grinned in what he knew would be perceived as a seductive manner as she turned her attention towards him for a moment in her introduction.
Hunter looked on with awe as Audrey told this new girl that he would be trying to get in her pants. "Thanks, Audj." he said, through clenched teeth.
"Well then we have something in common, Hunter. Maybe we could get together and discuss our common interests after class,"
Hunter was very rarely caught off guard, but this girl had managed it. "Well, uh..." he fought for a moment to get his thoughts back in order, but finally got them straight. "Yeah. That could probably be arranged." To try and cover his loss of cool, he threw in a wink. Why not? he asked himself. He certainly couldn't think of a good reason not to.

Julia smiled seeing Hunter caught off guard. Yep, she still had it. She had been doubting herself every since Mike rejected her advances. It was good to know she could still make boys squirm. But then the strangest thing happened, when he winked at her, her temperature began to rise and her breath caught, just for a moment, but still it happened. She gathered herself for a moment before speaking again. "Great, have any idea where we could go to, ya know, have some privacy?" With her control returned she bit her bottom lip and also threw in a few battings of her eyelashes for good measure.

Hunter caught her momentary blush and smiled. "I'm sure that I could think of a few places. I know this castle inside and out." The boy started to think of places to which they could go to talk. Yeah...talk. Hunter looked around for a second and realized that he had no idea what everyone else had been saying for their introductions. Oh well... He looked back at Julia. Damn! She was really hot. Hopefully she'd be just as hot to trot. Either way, he would get something out of this afternoon; he was sure of it.
OOC: Sorry it's so short. I'm kinda lame right now. >_<

"You can show me around, and I'll show you something else." She shot another smile his way and turned around to the front of the room agian. That's when she started feeling the butterflies in her stomach. She was finally going to do it, with a total hottie none the less. She was nervous. Did she really want to do this? What if she sucked at it? What if he laughed in her face? What if he spread around school that she was horrible? No one would want to do it with her ever agian. Her reputation as a tramp would be ruined. She would have to change schools and start over. Wait. What was she so worried about? She didn't suck at anything... except wizards chess, thank god. What kind of dweeb enjoys wizards chess? She turned to face Hunter agian. "How about right after class?"

Weeeee. Annabelle skipped into yet another class full of kids mostly older then she. How was she suppose to focus with all those raging hormones around her? Blah. She plopped gently into the seat next to some younger Gryffindor girl, seemed safe, not the biting type. Or so she hoped. Scooting her chair over a tad out of pre-cation she glanced up as the professor came in. Late. This she liked. It meant the dude had a life. Sometimes she feared professors just kind of like went into hibernation mode or something when they weren't teaching, grading, or doing lesson plans. She smiled at him listening as the girl next to her cockily introduced herself in some thick accent, crap maybe she was a biter...she peeked around the room for a safer seat but figured moving would be rude. Well she could always call it a battle scar. Show it off, yup if she bit her that's what she'd call it...of course she'd beef it up a bit, say it was like some seventh year Slytherin chic who bit her. The girls snide comment towards the professor a the end mad her chuckle...ah yes because being a wise crack was ever so becoming of her...not.
After the girl who's name she discovered to be Meave some other Gryffindor girlyo raised to the cause and introduced herself, oh wait, she'd met her before...out on the lawns, yupidy yup! She seemed pretty nice, but like Meave she's made a comment at the end of her into and she chuckled once more...even lamer the second jab around.
Another one? Dang, was she surrounded by Gryffindors? Apparently so yo. This one more arrogant than anything. There goes those hormones she was talking about. man whore. Yup. That was the verdict.
Oh thank you god, someone with a pulse. A Ravenclaw nonetheless. She seemed nice, a bit flirtatious with her opening bit, but yous he was like fifteen so it was permitted.
She glanced around, well no one else was piping up she might as well go, what was her name again, oh yea! gah darn blondy "Hiya" she chimed "My name is Annabelle Delacord and I'm a Third Year Hufflepuff" she smiled, yupidy yup a cheery, tree hugging, sunny side up Hufflepuff...most of the time...she was ober friendly and like five years old...but every now and again, like today... she hit a bit of a sour note "I'm a bit clumsy and uncoordinated so Quidditch is our of the picture, I like to paint though and I goof off on the guitar and write my own lyrics" she paused "Nothing spectacular though" she felt the need to add that, she hated when people made a fuss like her squealy overbearing Aunt Rene...ugh. "and um...I like Gummi bears" she added randomly and plopped down in her chair. Yay introduction of doom finito.

Audrey's jaw dropped at Hunter's and Julia's conversation. Damn, she thought. Hunter didn't even have to try to get in Julia's pants. She just offered them right up. Immediately, Audrey flashed back to the day by the lake with Mike. Ok, maybe she was being kind of harsh. But at least she had known Mike!
The redhead looked at Julia, trying to see if she was entirely serious. She looked like she was, but..."I hope you're serious about this. Hunter doesn't play games when it comes to sex, you know." She'd warned her. That was all she could do. Audrey's thought's probably would have continued down this path if it weren't for Little Miss Sunshine from the lawns the other day. The redhead's eyes were rolling in no time. Gummy bears? Seriously?

[Looks like I'm being butchered alive lol]
Aaric cleared his throat loudly as Annabelle finished her introduction. He could see from the corner of his eyes that half the students in the class was whispering to each other. It was not hard to miss, he had too done the same thing when he was a student. He just never realized how irritating it was until he became a Professor himself. "Alright..." He said, trying to get everyone's attention back to him and less on whatever topic they were discussing. It was not easy to teach a class full of teenagers. He had been a teenager once himself. He tried to remember the names carefully, it had always been a good idea to remember the names and faces of your enemy - It might had been a little too dramatic to categorize a number of teenagers as such, but Aaric was waiting for them to prove him wrong. It's going to be one hell of a long year. Too late to go back on treasure hunting and risking his neck, or getting entomb somewhere. He was there.
"Thank you Miss Campbell, Miss Hitchcock, Mister Kelly, Miss McIntyre and Miss Delacord for your introductions." He began and pause to arrange a better formed words in his head. "That was -- interesting." He added uneasily. Teenagers these days... From what Aaric can remember from his younger years, classes was never that entertaining. "Mister Kelly and Miss McIntyre, I'd appreciate it if you could continue your discussion right after class." He said, singling out the two students even though he knew that basically everyone was whispering under their breathes too, at least one tried to stop. "Or you might find yourselves in detention." He added, empty threats? He hadn't quite decided on that just yet.

Maeve had been feeling like a heel ever since sniping at the teacher. I mean it wasn't his fault she'd had to come to class. Ok, in a way it was. Still Maeve figured that if she was going to show up on time everyone else should too. Grinning a bit she settled abck in her seat. Besides if he was going to give her detention it would already have happened. Prpobably the second her treacherous mouth opened. She never could control her tongue.
A Hufflepuff had slid in next to her not long after class had started but Maeve didn't really notice. Being a bit too caught up in her own misery about detention she'd hardly even noticed the older girl. When she got up and introduced herself Maeve was slightly impressed. She could play guitar. Smiling at her she leaned over and whispered, "Hi, Annabelle. That's really cool that you can play guitar. I can't play any instrument." Since she was no longer nervous her accent had settled down to just a slight lilt under her words.
Sitting back Maeve realized the professor was about to speak. Trying to make up her bad behavior before Maeve straightened up attentively and smiled at the Professor. Moments later after he began speaking she was glad she had. She KNEW she shouldn't have spoken like that to him. At least she wasn't the one being singled out for detention.
